James James Decker Country singer and reality TV star Game On: Eric & Jessie staris featured on the September 2015 issue of American Baby magazine.
Inside, the second time mom-to-be talks differences between this and her first pregnancy and I could certainly relate to eating excessively as a means of staving off extreme morning sickness and nausea.
“With my daughter, Vivianne [now 18 months], I had horrible morning sickness,” she recalls. “I threw up every day, sometimes twice, for five months, which then made me insanely hungry. So I’d stuff my face to try not to feel nauseated, and I gained 55 pounds. On my 5’1″ frame, that was brutal!”
She says her second pregnancy has gone smoother.
“I sometimes even forget I’m pregnant except for all the moving around he’s doing in there,” she says of the baby boy she is expecting with her NFL husband Eric Decker.
Another World Breastfeeding Week is drawing to a close and as committed and longtime supporters of breastfeeding, we would remiss, as a blog community, if we didn’t dedicate a few posts to celebrate nature’s nourishment source for new life. Better late than never, right?
And to start, we are shouting out celebrity fitness pro and our two-time Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum Hilaria Baldwin for sharing a tender nursing moment with her new son to her followers on Instagram yesterday.
The yoga fanatic, who is married to veteran actor Alec Baldwin, captioned this sweet photo:
Rafa’s favorite spot ?. There is no one right way to feed our babies, but this week marks #nationalbreastfeedingweek and I would like to extend my support to mothers who have taken this path ?. In the end, regardless of our methods, #AllMommiesUnite and whatever way we love and nurture our children is beautiful, perfect and inspiring ❤️
As we’ve always advocated, it is important for influential people in the public eye to encourage new mothers, who do not face too many physical or psychological impediments or difficulty, to breastfeed and to do it as long as possible. What better way than to open up with their own special moments with their little ones. Very nice!
Earlier this week, we mentioned seeing Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi on the Coco and Ice talk show and was also heartwarmed to hear that she is still nursing her almost one year old daughter Giovanna Marie LaValle! sweet!
Florals are great to wear anytime but especially in the Spring and Summer months.
We spotted some of our diva-level Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums recently sporting the feminine pattern in sophisticated dresses and billowy peasant tops.
Jennifer Lopez wore a black and silver floral Dolce & Gabbana cap sleeve mini floral print dress with a matching D&G Sicily mini printed leather shoulder bag and white pumps at a recent event.
Beyonce, who is on active Bumpwatch, was seen recently in a billowy Lucy Paris floral peasant top with black trouser shorts and sandals. Late last month, the singer-songstress headed out in a Dolce & Gabbana knee-length dress that she accessorized with black Ray Ban sunglasses, a Stuart Weitzman Nudist Ankle Strap sandal and a nude Dannijo Lypton Chain detail cross body bag.
Since Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss announced her first pregnancy with new husband Todd Tucker last month, she has been sharing the ups and downs with her million plus fans and followers on Instagram.
We know from peeping her IG that the music & business mogul has been keeping it 100 still by working out with show co-star Porsha Williams yet giving in once in a while to a good fast food burger meal while still coping with pregnancy fatigue.
She also recently celebrated Tucker’s birthday. Fun!
Hang in there, mama! The former girl band member and platinum songwriter has a very vibrant and active IG feed.
So…we all know parents rock and some rock so much that they step in to fill a void and need among fellow parents by inventing some amazing and wonderful life-saving services, gadgets, contraption and tools.
A few of said innovative parents got a chance to show off their services and products yesterday at the First Ever White House Demo Day on August 4, which was also on the birthday of US President Barack Obama.
Bellyitch’s founder JJ was on hand to witness and record the President go around the exhibits set up in in the State Room of the White House and hear presentations from a selection of about 30 startups and entrepreneurs.
Earlier these brilliant minds were among small business owners who had taken part of a two-day session that included round tables and meetings with Senior White House officials, venture capitalists, government leaders and business mentors.
Products for and by parents presented that day included:

Smart baby monitor can track a baby’s vital signs using only a video camera(Rubi Sanchez, San Francisco, California)Rubi Sanchez, the founder and CEO of Wearless Tech Inc., is a graduate of the University of California—Berkeley with experience in the health care industry. Her company has developed Cocoon Cam, a patent-pending solution that uses computer vision and cloud-based data analytics to transform the capabilities of a traditional baby monitor. Using their unique software, a digital video camera, and non-invasive infrared technology, Cocoon Cam can track a baby’s heart rate, respiration, and skin temperature from a distance. Parents can stream video and wellness information to their smartphone to know exactly what is going on with their baby’s health at any time. Working mom of two turns family handmade popcorn tradition into snack food startup
(Jean Arnold, San Francisco, California) Jean Arnold grew up loving the fresh popcorn her mother would cook using a hand-cranked stove-top popper. As an adult, she spent years experimenting with making her own organic popcorn and flavoring it with exotic seasonings inspired by her training at Le Cordon Bleu in London. Now, as the founder of 479°, Arnold has turned her love of popcorn into a gourmet snack business that is sold around the country.
I also caught a cute moment during a pitch by Co-Founders Aaron Horowitz and Hannah Chung, both who have had experiences with juvenile diabetes. They explained how their inventive teddy bear called Jerry works. Jerry is stuffed with educational apps to help children develop healthy behaviors related to a condition they may be dealing with or generally nutrition, exercise, sleep, and mindfulness.
JJ captured the moment for a LIVE Periscope stream and uploaded on her YouTube channel where you’ll find other videos from the event:
Good stuff and it was pretty cool to be in the audience at the East Room to watch it all go down and to interview some of the exhibitors after the president’s remarks.
We’re having a throwback to a feature from 2009-2010 called Bump Day, which was a take off of Wednesday’s Hump Day. Through it, we would highlight and celebrate pregnant baby bumps of all shapes, forms and variety.
While cleaning out files, we found this lost photo of model, actress and singer Ciara from back when she was pregnant with son Future and was featured in a W magazine shoot..
Ciara looks to be a great mom from what we can tell scoping out her IG. She has since split with then fiance, R&B recording artist Future and is currently dating NFL Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson. She is also taking a little heat from her ex Future over the fact that Wilson interacts with Future Jr.
He’s calling Ciara horrible names even though Ciara regularly interacted with his four children from four different relationship while they were together. She was cool then, though, many have already pointed out.
After two boys, The Hills alum Kristin Cavallari and hubby Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler are expecting their first daughter. The Laguna Beach reality TV star revealed the news a few weeks on her Instagram account in a very creative photo, (above) with the caption, “The boys are so excited for a little sister!!!!!”
The co-host of the E! fashion show, The Fabulist, and shoe designer recently showed off a very cute bootie from her collection:
Congratulations to New Girl actress Zooey Deschanel on the birth of her first child, a daughter.
She and her fiance Jacob Pechenik apparently wed late last month before the baby arrived, according to E!Online.
A rep for the actress confirmed to US Weekly on Monday that Deschanel gave birth to a healthy baby girl.
“I am thrilled to confirm that Zooey Deschanel and her husband, Jacob Pechenik, are new parents to a beautiful healthy baby girl,” Deschanel’s rep told the magazine, additionally confirming that the couple wed in secret.
Deschanel first announced that she and Pechenik were expecting a baby back in January.
“Most people don’t discuss miscarriages because you worry your problems will distance you or reflect upon you — as if you’re defective or did something to cause this. So you struggle on your own.”
Facebook Co-Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg wrote this about he and his wife Pricilla experiencing multiple miscarriages before finally announcing a pregnancy that will likely go to term.
Miscarriage is such a big taboo and as we’ve written here often in Bellyitch. Having people of influence like the Zuckerbergs and other celebrities share their journey makes it easier for others not in the limelight to realize they are not alone. It can be a starting point. Kudos for Mark Zuckerberg and Pricilla Chan for being so open.
Elizabeth Cohen, an award-winning senior medical correspondent for CNN’s health, wellness and medical unit, and author of “The Empowered Patient“, wrote about how the announcement and revelation impacted her and how she feels it will help others.
