Every year afterthought Mother’s Day, we like to check in to see how some of our fave celeb moms we’ve featured on the blog celebrated the day. Some used the day to celebrate motherhood and feature their children. Others took time to salute and honor their own mom.

‘The Real”s Jeannie Mai Didn’t Want Kids but is Considering Freezing Her Eggs Just in Case…

Another celebrity is publicly sharing plans to freeze her eggs.

Tune in to Tuesday, May 2nd’s edition of The Real. The married but childless show co-host Jeannie Mai will admit that she is thinking about freezing her eggs. The 37-year old had previously decided that she and her husband would not be having children, but Mai realizes that if she changes her mind, it might be too late.

” I know I’m not getting any younger and I know if I was going to have a kid, I should decide now, today, 5 minutes ago,” Mai retorts.

During the show, Tamar Braxton-Herbert chimes in to support. She reminds the audience that she and her husband Vince Herbert had difficulty conceiving and had undergone fertility treatment before welcoming son, Logan, in 2013.

“I went through IVF and I will definitely hold your hand while you go through this process because, you know, you don’t know what to expect,” she says in the video teaser of the show. “You don’t know what’s happening with your body and there are some changes that’s going to happen with your body, but you just have to know that they’re not permanent changes, okay.”

We previously blogged that Naomi Campbell, Brandy and Sofia Vergara had also publicly shared plans to possibly freeze their eggs.

Co-Existing: Breastfeeding, Motherhood and Glam Squads

In Hollywood (and Bollywood) getting pregnant and having a family can disrupt a woman’s career but not so much anymore.

Motherhood isn’t halting opportunities and production can and do work around a star’s pregnancy. In recent years, many celebrity parents are showing their social media fans that they don’t let motherhood interfere with their work either. They can do both.

Gisele Bundchen‘s famous breastfeeding while getting glam shot was controversial because vanity and glamity aren’t supposed to co-exist with motherhood and breastfeeding, socially.

But they can co-exist and since Bundchen’s photo, other celebrity women like Lily Aldridge, Molly Sims, Kim Kardashian, Ali Larter, Terri Seymour and most recently, Kandi Burruss have shared photos of themselves tending to their babies while getting glammed up for an event.

Perfect and just in time to update last year’s list of celebrity glam squads. Last year, I hunted down the various glam squad photos celebs have posted on Instagram, WhoSay and Twitter. This small team that help get a celeb woman ready for an event, award show or other red carpet moment consist usually of a hairstylist, a manicurist, a stylist, a make-up artist and a personal assistant. They work in tandem and sometimes simultaneously and the glam squad photo shows them in action.

Of course, most of the glam squad photos are staged. Let’s be real. I wouldn’t want to be having my hair hot curled while my head is being maneuvered and shifted by the make up artist. Ouch. I’ve had a curling iron dropped on me before and I have the scar still to prove it.

Also, showing off your glam squad is another way of telling your followers and fans that you are that special that you can’t get dressed on your own. This is not shade. I’d hire myself a team in a hot second! And you know this because even famous stylists who once were glam squad members are now celebrities in their own right. (think June Ambrose and Rachel Zoe)

These days, you can even rent one. Companies like Miami-based GlamSquad (pictured above) will bring a team to you starting at $75. Not bad!

These 40 Celebrities had Babies After Age 40

When Actress Laura Linney gave birth to her first child last year, January 15, 2015, she became the oldest celebrity woman to give birth “naturally” at age 49. She outseated actress Kelly Preston who gave birth to her son Benjamin when she was 48. It was the first child for the The Truman Show star and her husband since 2009, Marc Schauer.

Linney was among a long list of celebrities who managed to stay under the radar for the majority of their pregnancy including: Tamar Braxton, Adele, Nicole Richie, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Simpson and Beyonce who all announced at the 5th month mark that they were “with child.” She was more successful than Lost actress Evangeline Lily, who never told anyone she was pregnant and was eventually busted by paparazzi at 8 months pregnant while she was living in Hawaii. Linney also bested Jennifer Hudson who looked to be about 8 months pregnant when a wayward photographer caught her and her boyfriend out and about, trying to be inconspicuous.

And at 49, Linney also joins the over 40 baby club which includes:

NICOLE KIDMAN gave birth to her first child, Sunday Rose, at the age of 40 with her husband, Keith Urban.
SUSAN SARANDON gave birth to her son, Jack at age 42. Three years later, she welcomed another son, Miles, at age 45.
BROOKE SHIELDS underwent seven rounds of in vitro fertilization treatments. After these treatments, she gave birth to her first child, Rowan, at age 37. At the age of 40, she traditionally conceived her daughter, Grier, with husband Chris Henchy.
EMMA THOMPSON spent several years trying to have a baby. She opted for in vitro fertilization treatments and eventually welcomed daughter, Gaia, in her 40s.
HELEN HUNT gave birth to her first kid, Makenalei Gordon in May 2004, with boyfriend, Matthew Carnahan when she was 43.
JERRY HALL, Ex-wife of singer Mick Jagger, The Rolling Stones’ lead singer, gave birth to the last of her four children, Gabriel, at 41.
JULIANNE MOORE gave birth to her similarly redheaded second child, Liv Helen, at age 41.

Kelis Enjoys a Well-Deserved Baby Shower after A Hectic Book Tour Promo Month

Second time mom-to-be Kelis got treated with her guests to massages at her baby shower. The “Milkshake” singer, who is a culinary school grad and cook book author, recently celebrated the impending birth of her next child.

“Thanks the @manlyhandz my girls were thrilled and relaxed at my shower! We had such a good time ! Thanks everyone xoxo,” she captioned a photo of herself with the proprietors of a traveling California massage company, Manly Handz,which boasts celebrity clients including Holly Robinson Peete, Brooke Anderson, Amber Riley, Ali Landry, Kimberly Elist, Nicol Ari Parker among others.

Though heavily preggers, Kelis just came off a pretty hectic month promoting her new book, “My Life on a Plate“.

She also recently, she hooked up with our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums Tamera Mowry-Housley and Tamar Braxton-Herbert on the FOX panel talk show the two co-host The Real.

Who Rocked the Bump Better: Kandi Burruss or Kenya Moore?

Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss baby bump sure is growing. She showed off her tummy in a pregnancy progression photo that she shared with her fans and followers on Instagram.

She also gave them a clue as to when she is due typing in the caption, “My #Babybump is getting out there now! Can’t wait to meet you #BabyTucker! ? My baby is supposed to be a #Capricorn. Bringing in #2016 with a bang! Shirt available at TagsAtl.com @tagsboutique.”

This typically means December to Early January. Nice!

The business mogul, well-known for writing hit songs, also stopped by the Steve Harvey Show for a fun segment recently.

Burruss stays busy running her very successful adult toy Bedroom Kandi that even has its own convention and her Atlanta clothing boutique Tags.

But she takes a break for maternity shopping and while out on a run to restock her wardrobe recently with her co-star on the show Kenya Moore, they thought it would be fun to have Moore put on one of the baby bumps those stores have to give pregnant women an idea what an outfit will look like when they are further advanced in their pregnancy.

We think is suits her perfectly!

On a sad note, her former cast member and Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum Kim Zolciak-Biermann suffered a mini stroke after a flight on her way back home from practicing and performing as a contestant on Dancing With the Stars.

She posted a photo of herself in the hospital on Instagram.

Fortunately, the Tardy for the Party reality TV star is recovering at home and says she hopes she will be cleared by the doctor to continue on the show. A competitor with her on that show is another Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum Tamar Braxton-Herbert who is a top contender and the one to watch.

Tamera Mowry-Housley takes 2-Month Old Daughter Ariah to NYC (VIDEO)

New mom Tamera Mowry-Housley is not showing her new daughter Ariah’s face on social media even though her millions of fans and followers have been nagging her to.

Well, those who want a glimpse of the actress and TV host’s baby could get a glimpse of her in her Orbit baby infant travel system after leaving with her mom at LAX heading to New York City to do some promotional interviews in advance of the second season of her hit FOX TV panel show, The Real.

Even while bombarded with the flashing lights of the paparazzi, this new mom kept a smile on her face and was so cordial even stopping to respond to their questions.

Here is a video of the arrival, captured by the folks at X17 Online.

When asked what she thinks of Kanye West saying he wants to run for president in 2020, she says, “He’d have a lot to say!” And on being a mom for the second time: “It’s awesome!”

(The sneaky devils captured Ariah’s face and zoomed in on it in this video though! Doh! Bastards!)

Mowry-Housley was joined by other members of the cast in doing the promo rounds, including co-panelist Loni Love at the Sirius XM studios in New York for an interview with another Bellyitch alum Jenni McCarthy.

The next day, their fellow panelist and yet another Bellyitch alum Tamar Braxton-Herbert did some promo rounds hitting up ABC’s Good Morning America looking all cute in her short dark bob which fits her face perfectly! We see you, Tamar!

Coco Announces on her New Talk Show She is 5 months Preggers with Baby Girl Chanel

Ice and Coco debuted today and during it, the blonde bombshell wife of gansta rapper turned actor ICE-T (Law & Order) revealed that she is 21 weeks pregnant (over 5 months).

The reality show couple of the now-defunct ICE loves Coco also shared that they are expecting a little girl who they have decided to name Chanel.

The premiere of the new daily talk show also featured a couple of our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums.

I am happy for them but a little peeved to hear Coco sort of dismiss the salient advice OB/GYNs and other medial and fertility specialists give to women who are advancing in age.

Cocoa said, “a lot of people ask what took us so long [to conceive]” and it’s because I wanted to wait, she said, mentioning that she wanted her companies to be successful and saw herself being pregnant at age 35. That was the magic number and she wanted to have a baby by then.

“People put things in your ear,” Coco said about all the warning society gives to women of child-bearing age.

“I’ve been on the pill for 17 years and they scare you, they told me I should freeze my eggs,” she added. “I called my gynecologists, she said ‘get off the pill and it would take a year for your body to regulate’… and it took a month and a half.”

ICE jumped in with his machismo humor to say, that he could “make a baby like a brick wall.”

“I’m so blessed,” she concluded. “Baby, I’m so blessed”

Congrats to them but the reality is that not so many women are fortunate. Fertility struggles are real and people put things in your ear on the odd case that you aren’t among the fortunate ones like Coco and Ice who could easily conceive.

Finally, those women not being able to conceive doesn’t mean they are less “blessed.”

Good for them both! Congrats!
