Just the other day I was criticizing Bollywood for being hard on model/actress/former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for delaying a film due to her pregnancy. I arrongantly said “we” here in the United States are more accepting when an actress gets pregnant and that we work around a pregnancy, use body doubles and are okay with delaying filming.
Well thanks to the producers of the upcoming “The Story of Bonnie and Clyde” for making me have to eat crow. TMZ reported early Monday that Hilary Duff, who just announced she is pregnant, will get bumped from the film because of her pregnancy. Producers have said production cannot wait out Duff’s pregnancy and recovery.
The site also pointed out a famous case of an actress who was hired to star in Melrose Place suing and winning when she too got bumped over a pregnancy. HunterTylo won a $4.8 million judgment when pregnancy cost her a “Melrose Place” role, TMZ reported.
Hope Tylo is doing other things with her settlement because the name is unfamiliar and perhaps she was blacklisted after the lawsuit and settlement. So…*sigh*
That really saucks for Duff man.
