Halloween 2018: Superheroes Were Celeb Families’ Top Choice

Here are some additional amazing celebrity family Halloween costumes from this year that rocked! And one thing I’ve noticed while pulling this together using their respective Instagram photo shares is that the Super Heroes theme was the preferred costume.

On top of that list, about 4 families did the Incredibles this years. In years past, Mariah Carey and The Baldwins among other families had gone with that group costume option. Here is a quick run down of other fabulous costumes including some amazing over-the top ones that are not super heroes but are from popular movies and other pop culture figures.

Adrienne and Chris Bosh and family as The Incredibles

Fergie and her son Axl were are super heroes Power Rangers

Kevin Hart and family as Minions

Wonder Woman Tamar Braxton and her son Logan as Batman

Kandi Burruss and family also as Super heroes

Vanessa Lachey and her kids were also The Incredibles.

Singer Melanie Fiona and her family were also The Incredibles

And finally so was Cyn Santanna and fam

Monica Brown and her family are usually on the top 5 list when it comes to Halloween costumes and so to no surprise her daughter Laiyah Brown‘s Edward Scissorhands is amazing@

No doubt Ayesha Curry as Snow White and her 4-month old son Canon as a Dwarf were the cutest!

Not a family costume but here is Marcus Scribner as Erik Killmonger, Tracee Ellis Ross as Nakia, and Anthony Anderson as T’Challa from Black Panther

More Superheroes from Tia Mowry, Cory Hardrict and family

Her sister Tamera Mowry-Housley and her daughter were lady bugs with husband Adam Housley as a cave man and their son Aden a dinosaur.

Tia Mowry On Motherhood After 40: No Time For Mess

Life just keeps getting better for Tia Mowry.

In addition to being a proud mom to two kids with husband Cory Hardrict, the Hollywood actress celebrated a major birthday last month.

How does it feel turning 40 in Hollywood? Not bad at all according to the Sister, Sister star.

“I’m just going to be really honest with you. Now that I’m 40, I don’t have time for mess anymore,” she shared with E! News’ Justin Sylvester exclusively. “I know what I want. I know what I’m going after. I have a small group of friends because when you’re younger, it’s all about popularity but that doesn’t matter for me now. It’s about quality vs. quantity.”

Tia continued, “I feel happy in my skin. I feel confident and I feel like as you get older, you learn more about who you are and you embrace who you are and just go with the flow of life and go with the punches.”

That’s not to say going from one to two kids is a walk in the park. While supporting her partnership with Office Depot, Tia was quick to admit that it’s been an adjustment ever since her daughter Cairo Tiahna arrived in May.

“You know what I’m doing? Usually, I would say with just one kid, I’m taking one day at a time. But with two kids, I’m taking two steps at a time. I’m only looking as far as my two feet can go,” she confessed. “I can’t get so far ahead of myself or I’ll get really, really overwhelmed. But you know what they say? It’s harder to go from one to two as opposed to two to three but now I get it.”

For the time being, Tia is focused on getting her seven-year-old son Cree Taylor  ready for school again. In just a matter of weeks, he’ll be entering second grade with plenty of the best school supplies from Office Depot.

“It’s all about making back to school fun and entertaining and hopefully that will translate into them making learning fun,” Tia explained to us while showcasing some of her favorite items from the store.

And in between getting ready for the school bell to ring, Tia is reminding fellow moms that there’s no rush to get back into your best shape after kids.

Instead of running to the gym after her daughter’s May arrival, Tia has learned to simply go at your own pace.

“I’m just taking my time and I’m also allowing women out there that you don’t necessarily have to go back to yourself right away. It took you almost 10 months or a year to grow a baby. And it’s going to take time for you to get back to yourself,” she shared. “Do I think it’s important to get back to yourself? Yes, I think it’s very important to get back to feeling great, get back to feeling like you were before having a baby but I’m not so fixated on having my abs back and all that kind of stuff. I’m just taking my time.”

Tia Mowry Hardict Battles Back After Gestational Diabetes Diagnosis

Tia Mowry Hardrict recently revealed that she contracted gestational diabetes while pregnant with her second child, daughter Cairo Tiahna.

“After being diagnosed with #gestationaldiabetes, I was lost for words,” she captioned a video of herself and her trainer getting in some exercise. “Never ever did I think, THIS could happen to me. Most of the time, doctors say it will go away after birth, however, it does put you at a higher risk for diabetes later in life. Time to get back on track. Making healthy choices and moving :). ?? Follow my @igtvworld for more updates! Xx”

She is correct! About half of all women who develop gestational diabetes are likely to develop type 2 diabetes later in life according to the Centers for Disease Control. Babies too whose mothers have gestational diabetes are at higher risk of being born early, having low blood sugar, and developing obesity later in life.

The key is to eat healthy, maintain a healthy diet, that includes leafy vegetables, fruits and wholesome food to stave them off. Good for Mowry Hardrict for being proactive!

For those not yet pregnant or still in the early stages of your pregnancy, compared to usual care, lifestyle interventions reduced the overall risk of developing gestational diabetes by 32%. Watch your sugar and caloric intake, get plenty of prenatal exercise in like walking and monitor your food portions and you should be okay!

Meanwhile, the 2nd-time new mom has been keeping her fans and followers updated with her post natal plans and showing off photos of her hubby and son with Cory Hardrict’s dead ringer, baby Cairo Tiahna Hardrict, who has the same monogram  (CTH) as big brother Cree Taylor Hardict, similar to how their cousins, Tamera Mowry-Housley‘s children have the same monogram (ATH): Aden Tanner Housley and Ariah Talea Housley.

Our Fave Mowry Twins 70’s Themed 40th Birthday Party and It Was Every Bit As Groovy As We Imagined It Would Be

Tia Mowry Hardrict and Tamera Mowry-Housley celebrated a huge milestone together: their 40th birthday!

The identical twin sisters brought their closest friends and family together for a ’70s-themed party at Good Times at Davey Wayne’s in Hollywood on Saturday.

“We live very kind of busy lives and I really wanted us to slow things down for a minute and take the time out to celebrate,” Mowry-Hardrict exclusively told PEOPLE. “The last time we had a party together was when we turned 21. We have our individual careers, but I just felt like it was something we needed to celebrate together.”…

And of course, the sisters dressed the part! From funky afros to bell-bottom jeans, the duo and their guests embraced the ’70s decade while dancing the night away, munching on classic bites — such as hotdogs, hamburgers and grilled cheese sandwiches — and indulging in a colorful, retro birthday cake by Dani Flowers Bakery….

And while the duo continue to focus on their individual careers and families (Tia and husband Cory Hardrict share 6½-year-old son, Cree Taylor, and 2-month-old daughter, Cairo; Tamera and husband Adam Housley share 5-year-old son, Aden, and 3-year-old daughter, Ariah), they have an unbreakable bond.

And Baby Makes 4 For Tia Mowry Hardrict Who Just Welcomed A Baby Girl

Congrats to Sister, Sister alum Tia Mowry Hardrict on the birth of her second child, a daughter.

The Tia and Tamera reality TV show star announced the news on her Instagram page on Sunday.  The baby girl, whom she conceived after bouts of endometriosis and other fertility problems,  arrived Saturday at 10:29 a.m. She weighed 6 lbs., 4 oz., and measured 19.8 inches long.

“Feeling grateful and blessed as we welcome our little baby girl into the world!” the couple wrote in the caption, going on to add, “We are in heaven ??.”

The new arrival is the second child with Hardrict for 38-year old The Game alum. The couple of 10-years are also parents to 6-year old son Cree Taylor.

the spouses of 10 years also have a 6½-year-old son named Cree Taylor.

Inside Tia Mowry Hardrict’s Baby Girls’ Nursery

Tia Mowry Hardrict revealed the insides of her soon-to-arrive baby girl’s organic and rustic nursery to her fans on her Facebook page.

The Sister Sister alum elicited the assistance of interior designer Jake Alexander to create a neutral palette room that Mowry Hardrict said would give her daughter’s personality time and room to customize over the years. In the video, she said she “want[s] the baby to feel comfortable” in her nursery.

The cookbook author added that because and her husband Cory Hardrict‘s lives as actors are hectic, she wanted a “calming” space.

The organic feel of the nursery also mimics the vibe of The Game alum’s rustic baby shower earlier this month.

“I want the whole environment to be calming,” she explains. “That’s one of the main reasons we chose these earth-tone colors — and not only that, I feel like her name is very grounded and very earthy, and I wanted her nursery to represent that.”

The former cooking channel host also said in a previous video (see below) about the difference between her first and second pregnancy is that she learned to not accumulate a lot of products and clothes and furniture for the sake of having them.

“I’ve learned not to just buy so much stuff and for things to be so overwhelming,” she adds.

Mowry-Hardrict says “everything is organic” in the room, from the crib sheets and mattress to the stuffed animals, and that adding wooden fixtures throughout was “really important” for herself and husband Cory Hardrict, with whom she also shares 6½-year-old son Cree Taylor.

She also said that she created a space that her baby can “grow” in, noting that the changing table and other stuff on top of the baby’s dresser can be removed when the baby gets older.

“She can actually use this furniture in her teens if she wants to,” Mowry-Hardrict raves of the light-colored wooden bookshelf and matching dresser (which doubles as a changing table for now).

“What I love about [this furniture is] it’s rustic, it’s organic, as if you’re taking the outside and bringing the outside in,”  she added. A basket weave bull head is affixed on one hall to reflect the fact that the baby is due under the astrological sign Taurus, noted by a bull in the zodiac.

“What that means is strength. And her name means a little bit of that as well, so you can see that there’s some sort of thread there, tie-ins,” she explains. “I thought that was a nice touch.”

The baby will sleep in one of the high tech smart sleeper called a SNOO which emits white noise and gently moves while baby is sleeping to encourage longer and calmer rounds of sleeping.

“One of my friends just had a baby and he texted me and he was like, ‘Tia, you gotta get this thing called the SNOO,’ ” recalls the actress and lifestyle expert. “He said, ‘It saved our lives!’ and I was like, ‘Okay!’ ”

As a report in People noted,  couple of standout items in the baby girl’s wardrobe and accessory collection include a backpack that says “THE FUTURE IS FEMALE,” multiple pint-sized coats, tutus and even one floral-patterned ensemble with matching booties that has a special personal meaning to Mowry-Hardrict.

“I got this outfit because it reminded me of a baby outfit that I wore when I was a baby,” she says. “So when I saw it I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I definitely have to get this for her.’ “

Inside Tia Mowry’s Bohemian Farmtable Baby Shower

This weekend actress and author Tia Mowry Hardrict and her husband Cory Hardrict celebrated the impending arrival of their second child, a daughter, at a Bohemian and “whimsical” themed Farm table baby shower at the Il Pastaio restaurant in Beverly Hills.

The Sister, Sister and The Game alum enlisted the help of celebrity event planner Mindy Weiss  who incorporated pink florals, wooden place mats, and twinkling lights at the intimate evening affair.

The mom-to-be of the hour wore a coral lace maxi dress to the event also attended by her 6 1/2 year old son Cree Taylor, her sister Tamera Mowry-Housley, and brothers Taj  and Tavior.

“I’m literally still on a high from my baby shower,” the Instant Mom alum told PEOPLE about her March 31st celebration. “We chose the boho theme mainly because my husband and I have been looking at a couple of names and have been narrowing down. And we felt like her name fit that theme…So we wanted to give some sort of tribute to her already. Cory and I also love the boho styles and everything. It made a lot of sense. The baby shower was in theme with her name.”

They didn’t share what the baby’s name will be but did reveal that her initials will be CTH, same as her son’s.

“I learned my lesson, so many people have so many opinions and this is kind of just between you and your husband,” she told the celebrity site. “I’m definitely going to wait, but we did play a game where guests can guess the baby’s name. And some of them were pretty close.”

“It was so incredibly beautiful. It was family and friends, it was all intimate. Whenever Cory and I throw a party, we always love it to be intimate,” Mowry-Hardrict explains. “We don’t really look for really big rooms, we look for rooms where people when they sit down they’re gonna have to talk to each other. It’s all about the experience. I’m such a nurturer at heart and it’s like, ‘Yes I want to have a great time,’ but it’s all about everyone else celebrating this amazing moment. Everyone getting in on this celebration so it was full of love and full of tears.”

Tia revealed that her husband was instrumental for including some of the surprises at the event.

“My husband surprised me, I had no idea. He had Kenny Lattimore come and sing. It was special for me because Kenny Lattimore sang at our wedding. He sang ‘For You’ which is the song I walked down the aisle to,” she says of the special song that also commemorated their 10-year anniversary, which is April 20. “Cory wanted to surprise me with his present. I walked into the room and gasped like, ‘What is happening here?’ and just sang the song. There was not a dry eye in the room. It was just so amazing. It was just wonderful.”

The event was made even more special because of the struggles the couple had to conceive their second child.

“I didn’t think I’d be able to have a second child, and it’s been over seven years since my first pregnancy… I put it off, but I did want to have another child,” she shared to PEOPLE earlier. “I didn’t let my infertility issues define me or define what my goals were and what I wanted out of life. We did try for a long time. It was hard. But I didn’t give up.”

Her husband Cory recently opened up to ESSENCE about his undying love for his pregnant wife:

“I could go on forever talking about my wife [but] I will make sure that I will always do anything that she wants and needs at the drop of a finger to make sure she’s happy… It’s just like how I live my everyday life. [Even] when y’all don’t see that, that’s still what happens in the house. I’m rubbing her feet, running her a bath, doing whatever I can to make sure she’s okay.”

Altogether now….Awwwww!
