New Mom Cardi B Drops Out of Bruno Mars 24K Tour

We always pause when celebrity new moms like Amal Clooney, Ivanka Trump. former Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer when they announce plans to get back to work weeks after delivering, not fully aware of how much of a challenge that could be.

Cardi B is the latest new mama to fall victim to this phenomenon.

She had previously stated that despite being set to give birth in July, she still planned to remain on Bruno Mars‘ “24K Magic” and to take her newborn with her.

As we could expect, the Bodak Yellow performer announced that she will no longer be joining  Bruno’s tour.

“As of today I’ve decided I won’t be joining Bruno on tour this Fall,” the rapper wrote in a statement posted on Instagram Thursday night. “I thought that after giving birth to my daughter that 6 weeks would be enough time for me to recover mentally and physically. I also thought that I’d be able to bring her with me on tour, but I think I underestimated this whole mommy thing.”

The Invasion of Privacy album creator only delivered her baby girl Kulture three weeks ago and explained to her fans and followers  that she’s not ready to hit the road. Per her pediatrician’s advice, neither is her daughter.

“Not only am I just not ready physically, I’m not ready to leave my baby behind since the doctors explained it’s not healthy for her to be on the road,” she wrote.

The “I Like It” songstress has not hired a nanny and  is not interested in being apart from her baby during her most formative first months.

“I hope you guys understand that this decision has been the hardest to make but I have to do what’s best for myself and my baby!” she finished off her post. “Thank you Bruno for being so supportive and understanding.”

Cardi shares her daughter with husband Offset, who is a member of the trio rap group, The Migos rapper, along with Quavo and Takeoff. He’ll be making the bread and perhaps missing baby’s first moments as he is sticking with plans to join Drake this summer on his North American tour, “Aubrey and the Three Amigos,” which was rescheduled to address production issues.

Peep Cardi B and Offset’s Daughter’s $4500 Crib

For a few years early in this blog’s life, I published an annual list of the most expensive strollers, cribs, baby and children’s clothes and maternity wear which I eventually compiled in a book called Bellyitch 100 (you can get it HERE!).

The most expensive crib on that list was made by Art for Kids and cost $4,400.

Cardi B‘s custom made crib for her and husband Offset‘s daughter Kulture surpasses that one. The rapper took to Instagram to show off the crib which according to Vogue’s research cost $4,500, retail.

“I didn’t want to set the crib up until we moved but Offset set it up while I was in the hospital,” she said. “It’s just so gorgeous.”

The crib’s designers, Kapesh Designs, said on Instagram that this exact one was custom made, but the fact Vogue could find a similar product in stock on their website proves that claim may not be entirely accurate.however, they had a similar product still in stock.

This little Princess’ crib adds to the crib’s of kids from other famous celebrities like Kim Kardashian West‘s  $4,500 Vetro Lucite crib for her brood (Beyoncé and Jay Z are also allegedly fans of the minimalist baby furniture), while Serena Williams posted a picture of her daughter’s rose gold crib by Incy Interiors to her Instagram story.

Cardi B And Offset Welcome Baby Girl, Kulture Kiari

Congrats to rappers Cardi B and Offset on the birth of their first child together, a daughter.

The chart-topper released the news on her Instagram with a floral-motif semi nude photo of herself.

Kulture Kiari Cephus 07/10/18,” she captioned the photo, revealing that the baby was born on Tuesday.

Baby caps off a whirlwind year that included several #1 top hits, a successful highly anticipated album release, a first time ever co-host gig with Jimmy Fallon, a Coachella headliner performance,  a tour and her first Saturday Night Live (SNL) performance where she announced the much rumored before pregnancy news by having the camera reveal her large bump in a white form fitting dress.

She recently lamented about naysayers who think a baby is a career-killer.

“You know what—I’m a grown woman. I’m 25 years old…I’m a schmillionaire and I’m prepared for this,” the “Bodak Yellow” rapper  (whose real name is Belcalis Almanzar)  Power 101’ Breakfast Club radio show.“It just really bothers me and it disgusts me because I see a lot of women online [commenting], ‘I feel sorry for you. Your career is over.’ Why can’t I have both?” she added. “Why do I gotta choose a career or a baby? Why can’t I have both. I want both.”

Yes you can!

Inside Cardi B’s and Offset’s ‘Bronx Fairytale’ Baby Shower

Fresh off confirmation that they secretly wed, rappers Cardi B and her new husband Offset, celebrated the upcoming birth of their first child together at a lavish “Bronx Fairytale” themed wedding in Atlanta, Georgia this week.

The event, named for the New York city burrough where Cardi is from, featured a 16-foot topiary floral wall, room entrance ways that resembled a 6-car subway train, and several rooms draped in 26,000 pink and white flowers, created by C. Waymen Florals & Events.  One area of one room featured a mock “Bardi Baby Bodega” stocked with personalized diapers, bottles, and more.

Guests chilled out in an elegant lounge area and noshed on custom-made piraguas, sliced fruit, and soul food, while sipping on pink coquito cocktails and Hennessy shots, as Vogue style writer put it, a nod to Cardi B’s sister, Hennessy Carolina.

I loved best the “Bardi Baby Book Library,” stocked with Latina and African-American children’s books like “Buenas Noches”, “Luna”, and “Viva, Frida”.

The center piece of the event was a five-tier cake, with each layer a different flavor fave of Cardi’s: Dominican pineapple, strawberry, red velvet, chocolate ganache, and honey bun.

Entertainment included Orchestra Noir, a hip hop orchestra group, and the Ballethnic dance company.

Guests took home as party favors custom purple baby blanket, a nod to the epic self portrait shawl Cardi once wore to the airport.

A glowing Cardi went with light pink bodycon dress with bold  brushed silver statement necklace and earrings while Offset opted for a denim jeans and a jacket with a black turtleneck, a large cross necklace and a studded silver belt.

Guests included fellow rappers and our Bellyitch bumpwatch alums Rasheeda and singer Monica, and at one point in one video shared on Instagram,  Hennessy can be seen dancing with the expectant mom and rubbing her protruding belly.

It was very much the electrifying shower the “Invasion of Privacy” recording artist told Rolling Stone in her cover story that she wanted the event to be.

“I want a lit baby shower. My baby shower’s not starting at no 5:00. My sh*t is going to start at 9 p.m. because that’s how I celebrate, that’s how Caribbean people celebrate,” Cardi said. “I don’t like baby showers that be at 5 p.m. in the backyard, eating, cooking hors d’oeuvres. Nah. Sh*t, I might even drink some red wine. Red wine’s healthy, right?”

Report: Cardi B is Going to Give Birth Within the Next Month

Cardi B is just weeks away from giving birth to her first child, a baby girl, according to her request to move a deposition of her from July 27.

According to TMZ, the 25-year-old said in legal documents that she is “in her final month of pregnancy and about to give birth,” and needs to push back the deposition date as a result.

Litigant Kevin Brophy is suing the artist and her managers for $5 million, claiming he never agreed to be featured on  Cardi’s album cover.

The cover features a man with very distinct back tattoos performing oral sex. Brophy claims one of the man’s tattoos, a tiger battling a snake, is identical to one that he has had for 10 years.

Brophy says the image is of him and that he was only made aware of it when a friend texted him.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, Brophy said he has never met or spoken to Cardi.

The deposition was scheduled so Cardi could be questioned about a lawsuit that was filed against her by a main claiming she copied his back tattoo and used it for the album cover of her 2016 mixtape Gangsta B— Music Vol. I.

Kevin Brophy is suing the artist and her managers for $5 million, claiming he never posed for the photo on Cardi’s album cover.

The cover shows a man with very distinct back tattoos performing oral sex on the rapper, with Brophy claiming that one of the man’s tattoos, a tiger battling a snake, is identical to one that he has had for 10 years.

Mom-to-be Rapper Cardi B told Howard Stern during an appearance on his radio show this week that she is expecting a baby girl with fiance, rapper Offset  of the group Migos.

She also told the shock jock on his Sirus/XM show that she is not interested in being a pregnant bride. When Stern asked her if she had plans to get hitched soon, the “I Like It” singer said, “people that don’t have this job wouldn’t understand…truth of the mater is that’s it’s hard to plan a wedding right now.”

The always candid personality said, “First I am not having a wedding pregnant. I want to wear my dream dress and I want to get drunk on my wedding and I want to go on a honeymoon and I want to be drunk for a whole week.”

But it’s all in the timing. “I know for a fact though next spring we are planning our wedding. but it has to be planned at to a point where there’s no worries.”

During a previous visit to the Sirius/XM studios for another show, the “Invasion of Privacy” album recording artist said she thought she would be able to hide her pregnancy and was suprised how difficult it was. She revealed the news during her first appearance on Saturday Night Live (SNL).

Mom-to-be rapper Cardi B and singer-actress  Jennifer Lopez performed onstage  this weekend at the 2018 Billboard Latin Music Awards at the Mandalay Bay Events Center on April 26, 2018 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Cardi B, outfitted in a salmon-colored ruching bump hugging dress, took the stage with Puerto Rican reggaeton and trap singer Ozuna  to perform their 2017 collaboration, “La Modelo.”

She later took to her Instagram page to thank the Latin Billboard Awards for giving her an opportunity to perform. The Bronx native did so in Spanish before being briefly interrupted by her fiance rapper Offset of Migos.

Though Jennifer Lopez wasn’t nominated for any awards, she did use the occasion to debut her  new song “El Anillo” during a very elaborate staging. The mom to twins showed off her voluptuous figure in a nude bejeweled body suit.

During the show, the guys took many of the awards especially Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, and Justin Beiber whose hit song “Despacito” was a staple on the airwaves all last year.

Cardi B: Last Show Until Baby Arrives Will Be This Weekend’s DC Broccoli Festival

First Janet Jackson in 2016 then Beyonce in 2017 and now Cardi B has canceled a much anticipated tour and performance due to her pregnancy.

The hip hop star shared the news yesterday following a performance at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

“You know, shorty keep growing and I be looking like I be moving and everything, but in reality, a b*tch can barely breathe,” Cardi announced in an Instagram video giving fans the news. “I can barely breathe right now. I’ve ate like six chicken wings, and I can barely breathe now.”

Cardi, real name: Belcalis Almanzar, alerted fans of her final performance too.

“Hey guys after Broccoli fest I won’t be doing no more performances .Thank you for understanding 😘love yaaa” she captioned the video.

The change of plans comes a few days after Bardi told Jimmy Fallon on his late night talk show during her historic co-hosting gig that she planned to work until the baby arrived.

“I don’t know if it’s the strength of the fetus, but I have never felt so hungry to succeed,” Cardi shared during her co-hosting spot on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon the other week. “I rehearsed for this show,” the rapper continued. “I actually was up today at four in the morning. I was doing a radio run. Tomorrow [is another] radio run; another show, another party. I’m doing it all until I give birth.”

Just yesterday, she shut the show down at the Tinder Presents: Cardi B performance in the Mullins Center at the UMass, a prize to the college for winning the dating app’s “Swipe Off” contest after making the most “swipe rights” compared to other competing schools.

Cardi wore a asymmetrical red and white pinstripe  shirt over shorts to the performance.

The Bronx-native rapper first gained social media attention openly discussing her career as a stripper  which made her Instagram famous. She eventually landed a casting role on the VH1 TV series Love & Hip Hop: New York between 2015 and 2017, but she really started to get some fame after getting an Atlantic Records deal.

Her first single, “Bodak Yellow,” hit the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart – making her only the second female rapper to steal the top spot with a solo track.

Cardi’s debut studio album, “Invasion of Privacy”, was released last week and entered as the number one record on the Billboard 200. It features  “Bodak Yellow” as well as other notable singles “I Like It,” and “I Do,” featuring SZA.

Earlier this month, Cardi B announced during a performance on Saturday Night Live that she was pregnant and will be having a baby with her fiancé and hip hop group Migos member Offset.

After the news, she said she still planned to tour with Bruno Mars through October, and even twerked during her Coachella performance last week.

During a recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres show, she said of the Coachella perfrmance that she wanted to show audiences what she did to get pregnant in the first place.

She had already canceled the Wireless Festival in July and Variety said that it’s “safe to assume” her July dates, and even potentially some shows in May, will be cancelled when her due date rolls around.

Cardi B Confirms Pregnancy During SNL Performance

Rapper Cardi B used her first Saturday Night Live performance ever last night to confirm the rumors that she is pregnant with her first child.

During her second performance on the show hosted by Chadwick Boseman, the camera panned back from the “Bodak Yellow” singer who was in the shadows to reveal her wearing a white bump-hugging wedding gown.

Gossip site TMZ reported back in February that one of Cardi’s staffers told the Super Bowl event organizers that the Love and Hip Hop star was 3-4 months pregnant

The dad is her long time boyfriend, Offset, one third of the rap group Migos.

Since then, Cardi’s team has been excellent about shielding the star from paparazzi until she decided to make her baby news on her own terms like last night’s performance.

Just last Friday, Cardi, who also is referred to as Bartier, evaded questions about her pregnancy in an interview with US Weekly when she essentially replies that her fans should listen to her album.

That’s right! We respect a celeb who takes control of her own narrative!

Congrats! This will be her first child but Offset’s 4th. He has three children from previous relationships.
