When Emily Blunt was filming The Girl On The Train — in which she plays a ravaged, emotionally unstable alcoholic in a permanent state of listlessness and confusion — her co-stars became worried that she was living the role.
‘I was really tired all the time, which is not my normal self, and people thought I’d begun drinking heavily, just to get into character,’ she says.
‘I don’t think I’ve ever played someone who is in such a dark place and truly in the depths of despair.
‘But it wasn’t the part I was playing that made it such a struggle to keep going; what no one knew was that I’d just found out I was pregnant with my second child, but I was determined not to let anyone think I was using that as an excuse.’
The only person on set who knew was Justin Theroux, who plays her ex-husband in his first major movie role. Emily and Justin — married to Jennifer Aniston — are old friends. ‘And he only guessed because I was being a bit of a wuss about some of my scenes, which isn’t like me at all.
‘He said: ‘You’ve done other tough roles before — you battled aliens in Ju. What’s wrong with you? Are you pregnant or something?’
‘I said: ‘Well, yes I am, but don’t tell anyone.’ Eventually, I had to tell the director, Tate Taylor, when we filmed a scene where I am in the bath, and I told him: ‘You have to shoot it from behind.’ When he asked why, I showed him my expanding tummy and said: ‘Because of this.’ By the time filming finished, I was 20 weeks gone!’
London-born Emily, who is married to U.S. actor John Krasinski, gave birth to baby Violet — a sister to two-year-old Hazel — at the end of June.
Actress Charlize Theron hosted a baby shower for Emily Blunt this weekend. Besides her mom, Gerda Maritz, celebrity trainer AJ Johnson, her make up artist Jenn Streicher and friend Laini Reeves attended.
Johnson shared a photo of the blessed event on her Instagram page before deleting it later. “An afternoon of love, laughs and friendship celebrating a special piece of my ❤️#EmilyBlunt with hostess with the mostess @charlizeafrica #CharlizeTheron,” Johnson captioned the photo
Congratulations to actress Emily Blunt and her husband John Krasinski on the birth of their daughter, Hazel, this weekend. This is the first child for them both. The Edges of Tomorrowstar and her spouse revealed the news of the pregnancy this past September.
Maybe it’s because she always has a camera following everywhere she goes, but the papps have done a great job of capturing British actress Emily Blunt’s casual style. The Devil Wears Pradastar must love comfy long sleeve maternity jersey tops and dark denim or stretch pants because that is all she is seen wearing when out and about. Not mad at her. Keep it comfy and functional, mama!
Mom-to-be British actress Emily Blunt spent a cool $35,000 in one day’s shopping spree stacking up for items for her baby daughter’s arrival. TMZ reports`that over the weekend The Devil Wears Pradastar purchased from luxury baby store Petit Tresor a crib, changing table and other furniture that come the Hollywood Regency Club Collection. Afterwards, Daily Mailstates she headed over to the top spot for celebs in tinsel town, Bel Bambini. There she purchased a bunch of must-have necessities like nursing pillows, and more.
Wowza! If you got its, splurge on the best for your little princess.
Blunt, and her husband John Krasinski are expecting their first child together. They announced the news this past September.
Last year, 2019 was no different in witnessing expecting women grace the red carpet at the annual Academy Awards red carpet.

The “Rolling in the Deep” singer missed out on having to be heavily pregnant on the red carpet like several of her fellow A-listers in year’s past.
Oscar has played host to several heavily pregnant
In 1992, Susan Sarandon was almost due with her son Miles whom she welcomed (with then-beau Tim Robbins) when she was nominated for her role in Thelma & Louise at age 47. (She didn’t win but was nominated 5 times and won Best Actress in 1996 for her role in Dead Man Walking.)

This year’s annual gala to celebrate the opening of a new exhibit at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of the Arts, was more over the top than ever before.
Perhaps because the theme was “Camp”, maybe, celebrities brought extra extravagance and bold and gregarious fashion and antics.
The official theme of the Met’s 2019 was “Camp: Notes on Fashion” and celebrates the newest exhibit which is inspired by Susan Sontag‘s 1964 essay that defines camp as “love of the unnatural: of artifice and exaggeration.”
I think Lady Gaga might have won with her theatrics that included he unraveling and revealing of not one but four looks by designer, with the assistance of a small army of flamboyant but meticulous handlers.
Cardi B’s presentation and actor Billy Porter’s were quite spectacular and so much so, I almost forgot previous mega head turners Rihanna, Beyoncé, Madonna and third-time mom-to-be Blake Lively were conspicuously missing.
My fave looks were by women who are not yet moms (per this is a celebrity pregnancy blog so they focus is on moms)
First was singer and Endgame actress Hailee Steinfield
My second fave was Lupita Nyong’o who is stunning!
And of course, we saw lots of the celebrity moms we have featured on Bellyitch who each brought their total A game to the party and did it up right!
I am proud of myself for having the institution memory to have been able to recognize all of these beautiful moms without reading the caption to see who they are. Woot.
It was a fun time this weekend at the 2019 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards at the Galen Center in Los Angeles on Saturday, March 23rd.

Congrats to Regina King for her win for her supporting actress role in the filmIf Beale Street Could Talk. The 227, Boyz In the Hood and American Crime alum used her time giving her acceptance speech to advocate for the Time’s Up x2 movement and challenged herself to make her projects fully gender equal in the future.
“In the next two years, and it’s going to be hard, I’m making a vow that every thing I produce…[will be] 50% women,” King said. “And I challenge everyone out there who is in a position of power, in all industries, I challenge you to challenge yourself and stand with us in solidarity and do the same.”
Bravo! I love this woman! <3

Blake Lively, Kristen Bell, Ali Arter and Jennifer Lopez attended the 2017 People’s Choice Awards.
I love the People’s Choice Awards, held this year at Microsoft Theater on January 18, 2017 in Los Angeles, California, for several reasons: 1) the nominees include a broad array of actors, actresses and TV shows, movies and bits that the average person enjoys, not just critics, film producers and elites; 2) they spread the love around and there isn’t one show or person that dominates all the awards; and 3) they have fun category like best collaboration. I mean the nominees this year for that category included:
Conan O’Brien’s Ride Along with Ice Cube and Kevin Hart Ellen DeGeneres and Britney Spears’ Mall Mischief James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke with Adele Lip Sync Battle with Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum Saturday Night Livewith Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon
