Celeb Moms Busted In Major College Admissions Entrance Conspiracy

I was just in the middle of assembling a mega post and feature for the blogon the “college entrance game” from pre school and beyond, when news breaks about a FBI and IRS bust of 33 people involved in a cheating conspiracy involving a Bellyitch frequent red carpet fave actress Felicity Huffman and Full House alum Lori Loughlin who is married to fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli.

All of them were among a list of 13 people arrested by the FBI for their alleged involvement in “Operation Varsity Blues,” according to FBI spokesperson Laura Eimiller.

The alleged college admissions cheating scam involved payments of up $1M to a facilitator, who created a bogus charity to funnel the bribe payments through and who garnered select athletic admission slots for children who didn’t even play the sport and committed other acts to guarantee admissions for the children of wealthy parents to get into elite colleges and universities including Yale, Georgetown, the University of Southern California and Stanford.

“Dozens of individuals involved in a nationwide conspiracy that facilitated cheating on college entrance exams and the admission of students to elite universities as purported athletic recruits were arrested by federal agents in multiple states and charged in documents unsealed on March 12, 2019, in federal court in Boston,” the FBi stated in a release says.

Athletic coaches from Yale, Stanford, USC, Wake Forest and Georgetown, among others, are implicated, as well as parents and exam administrators, the release says.

The schools involved are extremely competitive: or first-time, full-time undergraduates, only 5 percent of applicants get into Stanford, 17 percent get into Georgetown, and 18 percent get into the University of Southern California, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

A Stanford sailing coach was arrested. Federal authorities intercepted telephone calls to confirm the conspiracy .

Huffman and Giannulli were arrested at their homes. The FBI served a warrant for actress Lori Loughlin but she was not home at the time.

All 13 defendants will appear in federal court in downtown Los Angeles after 5 p.m. ET today, CNN reports.

Which Designers Dressed the Celeb Moms of the 2017 Golden Globe Red Carpet

yellow-golden-globe

We love to keep track of the celeb moms that we covered on the blog while they were expecting their respective bambinos when we spot them on the red carpet at award shows and other former industry events.

This past Sunday, we spotted a ton of Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums and they all looked great! Some, like currently expecting Natalie Portman (in Prada), Kerry Washington (in Dolce & Gabbana and clutch, Sophia Webster shoes, and Niwaka jewelry); and Viola Davis  (above in sunny yellow Michael Kors Collection dress, Stuart Weitzman shoes, Harry Winston jewels, and Judith Leiber clutch.) were nominated, and Davis won for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her role in the movie “Fences”.

Others like, Reese Witherspoon (in Atelier Versace with Tiffany & Co. jewelry, Christian Louboutin shoes, and a Tyler Ellis clutch.) presented on stage.

We, like many other fashion sites and bloggers, noticed some clear trends such as the Yellow trend. Also, there were a lot of women in metallics on the carpet as well.

Ladies of CBS’ The Talk (Sheryl Underwood, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Aisha Taylor, and Julie Chen) at the CBS Network Upfront presentation at Lincoln Center on Wednesday, May 14, 2014, in New York.

Each Spring, cable and broadcast television networks trot out their biggest stars to be featured on their upcoming season shows and present them before the press, ad buyers, execs, and the industry in general. It’s also a great time for celeb watchers to gawk at some of the fab outfits the stars and cast members choose to wear.

Here is a selection of our a few of our favorite looks from Bellyitch alums, moms and other notables who hit the various red carpets before heading in to their respective event.

NBC UNIVERSAL UPFRONTS

Three members of the Cast of BravoTV’s Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

The E!’s co-host of Fashion Police Kelly Osbourne who is sticking with her colorful hair but mixed it up with a cute faux hawk and deep purple lips. Tres chic and refreshing!
Khloe Kardashian and Kim Kardashian  in matching low cut black wrap dress but with Khloe going a little more demure by wearing a cami underneath hers with fab shoes!
We suppose NeNe Leakes isn’t going anywhere as rumored as the Real Housewives of Atlanta star worked the carpet in a hip black dress with lace sleeves and bodice, looking great.
E! host and star of Giuliana and Bill, Guiliana Rancic looked amaze-balls in and healthy in this smart biz dress.

The Cast of Chrisley Knows Best Savannah, Julie and Chrisley Chase.

Original Bellyitch Bumpwatch mom Halle Berry is working it in these harem pants and returns to the small screen to star in CBS’ drama about an astronaut who returns whom after living in outer space for a year in  Extant this fall. We call it the “Gravity” effect. ha!
We didn’t expect our fairly recent Bellyitch Bumpwatch mom Ana Faris to go back to looking precisely the same as before giving birth so soon, but alas, she has and does a feminine pale pink lace pencil-skirt length dress justice. She stars in the CBS show Mom.
