Did Beyonce’s Halloween Lil Kim Tribute Aim to Squash Last Year’s Fan Feud?

So Last July, biz mogul and rapper Sean “P Diddy” Combs sent the fans of Beyonce and Lil Kim into battle when he ended a tribute to Lil Kim on the Hip Hop Honors award show by stating, “Your hardcore raps, the way you walk, the way you talk — there’s only one Queen Bee. All hail the queen!”

That comment sent the Bey Hive fans into a tizzy as Diddy’s own Revolt TV conveniently blogged about after the event.

Perhaps to squelch all of the feuding between camps of fans of Queen Bey (also pronounced liked “bee”) with Beyhive members sparring with Lil Kim’s own Killer Bee Hive, the new mom-to-three set the record straight herself by posting her tribute to Lil Kim on her personal Tumblr website.

The first image in a series read “Hip Hop Would Not Be the Same Without Our Original Queen Bee”. It was part of the “Single Ladies” singer’s tribute titled “Halloween 2017: Lil’ Kim Appreciation.”

We followed both women during their respective pregnancies on this blog so we can definitely appreciate the sister love!!!

We had already featured earlier this week Beyonce pulling off Kim’s costume back when the pint-sized rapper was featured in Missy Elliot’s “The Rain” video.

In Bey’s November 3rd blog post, we see that Mrs. Carter went one step further and further and further…knocking it all the way out the ball park!

And the original Queen Bee herself loved it, sharing them all on her personal Twitter page:

“I’m still recovering from @beyonce’s slayage from Halloween and then this happens… #beyonce #lilkim #queenbee #tookusabreak #beehive #lilkimseason,” Lil’ Kim shared on Instagram after the Grammy winner shared new photos of her costumes. “Lawwwwddddd, my wig is all the way in China!!! SLAYED. You did that B!”

She continued, “Come all the way thru Bey!! @beyonce the resemblance is crazy!! Match made in heaven. Every single detail is on point! I love you to pieces Bey.”

For the final share, Lil Kim shared her appreciation for Jay who dressed in Biggie Smalls a.k.a. The Notorious B.I.G.’s signature red jacket, jeans and Timberland boots from an already widely circulated photo taken at Kelly Rowland’s Halloween party this year.

“This is so adorable and it’s even cuter because Jay-Z and Biggie were friends and he has his mannerisms down pat,” she shared. “I love U Queen Bey and King Jay.”

Beyonce wasn’t the only one to do multiple Halloween costumes paying homage to one person. I actually went as Beyonce’s 2011 video for “Countdown” (WATCH IT HERE) when she was 6 months pregnant with her first child, Blue Ivy. This tribute is fitting given I have a pregnancy blog. I couldn’t decide on which of the two dozen or so outfit/looks she wore in that video so I settled on four.

Unlike Bey, who probably wore her get ups to various Halloween parties and events, I simply rummaged my and my husband and kids’ closets and came up with outfits and used wigs I already own. I photographed myself via selfies or my iPhone’s timer app after the kids had come back from trick-or-treating and had settled in bed. I did do them all on Halloween so they count as Halloween costumes nonetheless! ha!

Lil Kim welcomes daughter, Royal Reign

Congratulations to veteran rapper Lil Kim on the birth of her daughter on Monday, June 9. A source to US Weekly confirms.

The pint-sized recording artist who rose to fame in the 90s alongside her mentor rap pioneer The Notorious B.I.G. is said to have named her child Royal Rein.

After rumors circulated about the pregnancy following an appearance at a New York Fashion Week show with a very bulbous belly, Kim eventually confirmed the news while performing a few hours later.

Although Kim has never confirmed who the baby’s father is officially, rapper Mr. Papers did in social media and was very present at the lavish Royal themed baby shower that took place last month. The event was filmed for David Tutela‘s new show, CELEBrations which will air this August 1 on WE TV.

Inside Lil Kim’s Royal Themed Baby Shower (PHOTOS & VIDEOS)

Lil Kim had her baby shower this weekend at the Broad Street Ballroom in New York City. The lavish, ornately decorated and extravagant affair was designed by TV host David Tutera and filmed for his WETV show “CELEBrations” which will premiere this summer on August 1 at 9pm.
Mr. Papers and Kim pose for pictures.

Perhaps it was a Games of Thrones/Royal Baby Shower theme as medieval court buglers dressed the part and announced the Queen Bee’s arrival in a detailed jeweled gold bump hugging evening dress. 
The color theme was variations of royal purple and gold.
Before the event, Kim picked up the baby shower cake. 

Some of the celeb guests attending the event included several reality TV show vets of yesteryear including Hip Hop rap pioneer  Sandra “Pepa” Denton from the 90s female rap group Salt n Pepa and theVH1 show Let’s Talk About Pep and The Surreal Life and Tiffany “New York” Pollard from the VH1 shows I Love New York and Flava of Love.

Of course her child’s father “Mr. Papers” was in attendance at the co-ed event, as well baby’s god dad Fred the Godson and rapper Juelz Santana, Single Ladies actress Lisa Raye, Love and Hip Hop New York’s Kimbella Vanderhee.
Her fans and some guests to the red-carpet affair shared some early pics and videos of the event and arrivals on their respective social media accounts.

Lil Kim confirms pregnancy while performing at NYFW after party (VIDEO)

Veteran hip hop recording artist Lil Kim recently confirmed her pregnancy during a New York City performance after photos of her bump  Wednesday, February 12 at The Blonds’ New York City fashion week runway show took Twitter by storm.
At a M.A.C. cosmetics-hosted after party for that show at the Gilded Lily, Kim confirmed the news on stage announcing to the crowd while rubbing her belly  “I’m a mom, but I can turn it up a little!” 

She later told US Weekly “I’m still going to work,”adding, “I’m still going to be hardcore. The baby has made me even more of a beast!”   
The Magic Stick singer who has had on-again-off-again beefs with successor Nicki Minaj, also revealed that she is only a few months along though  many people had speculated that she may be in her later stages of pregnancy. Every woman advances differently as we know. 
Blogger Necole Bitchie reminds us that on an episode of VH1‘s Driven, Kim confessed that she was once pregnant with the late rapper Biggie Smalls (a.k.a. Notorious B.I.G.‘s) baby but miscarried.  She mentioned him in the above performance and said “we” all miss him pointing to herself and her belly when telling the audience to remember the anniversary of his violent shooting death was coming up again.

Even though she told US Weekly that she had no plans to reveal the baby’s father, he reportedly stepped up and outed himself.

Twenty-something rapper Mr. Papers, her boyfriend, who was linked to her back in 2012 but was recently reported as having broken up, has come forward on social media.

After Kim’s announcement, he tweeted “Congratz on the royal baby!” and said thank you to a person who congratulated him on the baby news.

Congrats on the impending arrival. Babies are blessings!

NYFW Bombshell: Rapper Lil Kim is Pregnant (PHOTOS)

Blogger Claire Sulmers from the Fashion Bomb Daily confirmed tonight that rapper Lil Kim is pregnant.  The fashion blogebrity tweeted the news about an hour ago at The Blonds NY runway show during NY City Fashion Week.

Later, Bloggebrity and Media Personality Perez Hilton confirmed the news as well with a  photo revealing a very bulbous belly and a full face.

No confirmation in how far along she is or who the dad is. Story is developing.

Bump Watch: Lil’ Kim rocks Black & Fur in a recent photo

Veteran rapper Lil Kim is laying low but still getting out and about while baking her first bun in the oven.Dirty Money Records CEO Big Fendi posted a photo of himself with Lil’ Kim on March 9 on his Instgram account. “IM GONNA BE A UNCLE,” he wrote. Lil’ Kim looked fab in her black bump-hugging black dress under a fur coat.Big Fend shared another photo with another person caressing the bump. 

She hasn’t confirmed who the father to her baby is yet but last month said she was only a few months along.

Tributes Pour In for Actress and Model Kim Porter

Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Kim Porter, a model, actress and personality who I’ve frequently blogged about on this site, who died suddenly and unexpectedly yesterday at the very young age of 47.

Apparently Porter, who is mother to music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs‘ twin daughters D’Lila and Jessie James and son Christian; and a son Quincy with ex 90s R&B singer and actor Al B. Sure. 

According to TMZ, Porter had be suffering from flu-like symptoms, and possibly pneumonia, for the past several weeks. Her cause is death has yet to be determined.

Although the Georgia-born model is known for her onscreen, runway and ad campaign career, she is more known for being a mom to some pretty amazing kids.

Porter and Diddy gave birth to their twin daughters in 2006. The girls began modeling at a very young age, as Bossip reports they landed their first print ad campaign in 2014 as spokesmodels for Ruum American Kids’ Wear.

Porter and Diddy gave birth to their son Christian ‘King’ Combs in 1998. Combs has gone on to become a model for Dolce & Gabbana and recently inked a deal to take part in Tommy Jeans’ Spring 2018 campaign. Combs also models for his father’s fashion line Sean John.

Quincy Taylor Brown was born on June 4, 1991  but  Diddy adopted him as his son later. Brown’s godfather is legendary musician and producer Quincy Jones, whom he is named after.

From a summary in Heavy:

In an interview with Essence Magazine, Porter details learning that Diddy had fathered a child with another woman named Sarah Chapman. The child, Chance Combs, was born five months after Jessie James and D’Lila. “It’s not an original script. He’s not the first man who’s cheated,” Porter explained. “He’s not the first man who’s had a baby outside of his relationship. He’s not the originator of this. But at this point in my life ? I have girls now ? it’s a different program.”

Porter also expressed regret over the fact that she didn’t learn about the other child directly from Diddy. “I would have preferred to find out from him because that’s a man,” she revealed. “I know it’s hard for anyone to say to their significant other, ‘I’ve gotten into some sh*t and I got a baby on the way.’ But men do get caught up in things; I’m not naive to that. Still, there’s a right and a wrong way to handle it. Because, most of all, we were friends. Even if I couldn’t have understood it as a woman, I would have understood it as a friend.”

Porter continued: “He told me that he may have gotten himself into a situation and he may have fathered another child outside the relationship and I said, ‘Really? Well, I already knew. I’m glad you decided to be a man,’ ” recalls Porter. “I was like, ‘Dude, this is so wack I can’t even respect you right now.’ And for me, once the respect is gone, I’m not even listening to you.”

You can tell from her social media posts that Porter was all about being a supportive mother to her children and from the tributes that have poured in on her behalf over night that she was also a sweet and caring person, in general.

Rest in peace, Ms. Porter.

Kim Kardashian-West’ Donation Pledge Tweets make Local Girl Famous

I love how local media picked up by national media can really do a lot for charity cases. Here is an example: This week, the popular FOX gossip radio round up show Dish Nation did one of its regular local station feature where it picks a local story to spotlight.

This time, it picked Witchita, Kansas. One of the hosts spotlighted the work of 17-year old Amelia Flores who started a shoe drive to donate to Soles for Souls charity that gifts gently used shoes to people in need. Flores said the charity helped her family during Hurricane Katrina and wanted to give  back.

“I felt like this was a way to give back to them and say thank you,” Amelia told her local paper, The Wichita Eagle. “People were super willing to give their shoes,” she said about expanding her initiative from 200 pairs to 2,000. “So I figured why not.”

Flores, who had collected 1,000 shoes but was hoping to get 1,000 more by December 18. “By calculation, she needs 112 each day,” host J-Si Chavez said “We need to start donating, Witchita.”

Fortunately for Flores and the charity, Kim Kardashian-West saw the Dish Nation segment and tweeted her support. And the rest is Viral history….

Flores says her new goal is 25,000 shoes and with all the publicity, she’s likely to reach it!

Over the course of Bellyitch’s 12+ years existence, we’ve featured some of the most creative costumes that celebrities have worn. In my opinion, Beyonce and Jay Z, along with Heidi Klum and Neil Patrick Harris, and his husband David Burtka and family, and Kim Kardashian West have really gone above and beyond each Halloween.
