Images (above) of Aniston with a bubble in the center of the sequined mini dress she wore during Wednesday’s LA premiere of her latest project, the dark comedy Life of Crimesparked rumors that she was pregnant.
She shot down the rumors sharply on TODAY, telling Carson Daly, “I’m not pregnant!” and adding that her “value as a woman” is not defined by motherhood.

Kelly Rowland stays fit even in third trimester

Not that it has to be but Kelly Rowland is not letting pregnancy slow her down. Definitely, the singer is not letting it stop her from doing lunges while in her last trimester of pregnancy as seen in an Instagram pic she shared with her fans and followers lately.
Early on, the Destiny’s Child alum faced a lot of criticism for working out while pregnant after she posted a series of intense workout sessions.
We came to her defense of course.
Keep it tight, mama!

Eco-Friday: End of Summer Eco-Fun Tips

I’m digging the wonderful eco-friendly tips that HuffPo recently shared. I’m constantly struggling to find fun environmentally-friendly activities to do with the kids in the summer. It is a HUGE challenge to keep them entertained and their brains stimulated all summer. That’s why I loved seeing these eco-summer tips and ideas:

1) Grow a garden

Sunflower Playhouses & Mazes

Sunflowers are inexpensive and easy to grow. Certain varieties like “Sunzilla,” “Mammoth,” and “California Greystripe” can grow between 12-20 feet tall which makes them a great plant to use to make an outdoor playhouse or maze. All it takes is a couple packages of seeds and a little watering and in 8 weeks you will have a bright and cheerful “nature made” play area.

Pizza Garden

If space is an issue or you have older children, a pizza garden is a lot fun and keeps them really engaged. In a small bed or pots, plant a few tomato plants, basil and oregano — all of the garden ingredients that you need for a pizza. After you harvest at the end of the summer, make pizza sauce with the ingredients from your garden.

2) Use Nature’s Art Box

Go on a stroll in your yard, neighborhood or nearest park and collect leaves, small twigs, and flowers to use as materials in a translucent garden window or mobile. All you need are the materials that you have collected, translucent contact paper and string.

For older kids, it is fun to collect rocks and pebbles from your yard or neighborhood and paint them. It is great to show your child pictures of ancient cave art for inspirations. You can even try making your own natural pigment paints using egg white and ochre (blush) for reds and charcoal for black.

3) Recycled Box Crafts

Boxes are by far the best item to let the imagination nation run wild. Refrigerator and wardrobe boxes make a great playhouse or puppet theaters. You can take them outside and let your child color or paint them. You can help them cut windows and doors into them. One way to make the decorating easy and fun is to use a paper cup to hold the paint and tape it to the outside of the box right at your child’s arm level.

Medium-size boxes that may be gathering dust in the attic or garage are great for toy train tunnels and matchbox car tracks/highways. Help your child cut the tunnel hole in the box and then help them put tape highways across the tops and sides, then take a marker and add the line for the road.

You can also combine several medium size boxes with multi-colored masking tape to make a fun play tunnel for your child to crawl though. Another option would be to have your child color or paint the tunnel to look like a caterpillar.

Try this DIY Detox, Exfoliating, and Sports Spa Body Treatment

In a couple days I am set to head to a pretty formal event where I will have to wear a snug fitting dress and look my best for pictures. Yup! I’m going to be a bridesmaid for the first time ever in a friend’s wedding. I’m quite excited.
On top of the many things I would like to do but don’t have time to squeeze in at this last minute is a spa day. I love getting spa treatments at day spas so I needed to figure a way to get it in anyway.  Also, I have been going hard at the gym to look decent in the dress and have been researching do-it-yourself at home sports spa treatments online.
I combined a few items I had read and used my own intuition and came up with a regimen for a detoxifying, exfoliating spa treatment that also had a sports medicine healing portion to it. It came out pretty well.
Here is what it entailed:
First, I sprinkled a generous amount of (2) AHAVA Dead Sea Mineral Bath Salt in a tub of running hot water, then added a few drops of (3) Mia Roma 100% pure Essential Oil in Eucalyptus and a few drops of the same brand of oils but in (4) Lavender.
I followed up dropped about 4 to 5 (4) Sea Kelp tablets in the water and let it all dissolve.  This is great for breaking up fat
I soaked in that for about 30 minutes, then rinsed it off.
I then used a (1) exfoliating pad and applied some  Dead sea minerals scrub all over the body, and focused on my legs, thighs and back using   H2O Spa’s leg and muscle rub
Then after rubbing that in really good to exfoliate some dead skin, I showered that off.
I finished up by spraying some Ancient Meinerals Ultra Pure Magnesium oil all over my body. This oil is
I left that on for about 20 minutes while checking my social media accounts in the bathroom and rinsed it off and pat dried myself off.
I felt polished, super clean, refreshed and rejuvenated.
Afterwards, I applied some (6) Burt’s Bees Intense Hydration Night Cream moisturizer to the body and super thick (7) Burt’s Bees  foot cream on my feet and covered them up with a pair of thin sports socks! They will come out super soft by morning.
It  all was just what I needed and I felt as if I had been in an expensive spa when I was done! But unlike the spa, I had plenty of products left over so I could repeat it all again next week or whenever I needed another jolt of detoxification and exfoliation.
Superb!
Highly recommend it for all ladies— and gents out there!

Chinese Giant panda faked pregnancy to get extra perks – No really!

Well isn’t this a trip? A Giant female panda bear who was set to star in the first-ever live broadcast of the birth of panda cubs has been faking her pregnancy all along to get more food and better treatment!
Zookeepers at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in China determined that the 6-year old panda, Ai Hin, had a phantom pregnancy even though in July she showed signs of pregnancy early on:  a change in appetite, less movement and an increase in progestational hormone.
Panda researchers have determined that after the bears realize that pregnant bears get preferential treatment like more buns, fruits and bamboo and an air conditioning room with around-the-clock care, they start to show behaviors associated with early pregnancy.
And the reason for the extra treatment is because Giant pandas, which have but a 3-day window each year to get pregnant, do not generally breed in captivity. These phantom pregnancies are not unusual, either, as a result.
Given the fact that only 1/3rd to half of pandas born in captivity in China survive past infancy, the extra care of pregnant pandas is warranted.
Only…it’s also a set up for fake pregnancies like that of Ai Hin who recently went back to her old self, sans pregnancy symptoms.  Look at that!

Back to School: 10 tips to boost your immunity from germs

Back to school also means back to excess exposure to a variety of germs and viruses your kid or kids may pick up from classmates and being back home to your household.
With Flu season around the corner, boosting your immunity is essential to staying healthy through the school year.
To help you ward off the sickies this fall, Dr. Christopher Hobbs, Ph.D., L.Ac., A.H.G., a licensed herbalist at Rainbow Light, specializing in holistic health medicine, natural products, organic, wellness and diet/weight loss, offers these 10 tips for boosting your immunity:
1. Get regular exercise. Regular exercise helps condition resistance to infections by circulating blood and immune cells.

2. Practice hydrotherapy. After exercise, get into a cool swimming pool or shower to help circulate surface immunity. Hydrotherapy has been practiced in many cultures for at least 2,000 years to help maintain and restore health.
3. Sleep is vital. In one study, the cold virus was swabbed into two groups of volunteers. One group was allowed eight hours sleep, while the other was restricted to less than seven hours. The latter group was three times more likely to contract a respiratory infection (Cohen et al, 2009).
4. Address symptoms early. If you start feeling under the weather, try an herbal remedy with herbs researched for immune support (elderberry, andrographis, berberine) like Rainbow Light® Counter Attack™ Immuno-Response to bolster immunity and reduce symptom severity.
5. Try adding immune-boosting products and nutrients into your diet.

6. Limit sugar and processed foods. These items can have a negative effect on your health, especially when immunity is compromised.

7.  Incorporate garlic into dishes. Fresh garlic has natural immune-boosting qualities. Try to incorporate it into dishes, particularly if you aren’t feeling well.

8.  Take a daily multivitamin. It’s difficult to get all of our daily nutrients from food. Fill gaps in your diet through a multivitamin to get what you need for optimal health.
9.  Drink hot green tea. It contains compounds that help strengthen resistance.

10. Get fresh air. Dress warmly and venture outdoors, even if only for a short, brisk walk. The fresh air invigorates and boosts natural defenses.
Following a “whole, simple and nutritious” diet approach, Dr. Hobbs actively motivates clients to participate in personally designed health plans while educating clients on the immense benefits of a clean diet outlook.
 Good luck!
