#NYFW: Rachel Zoe X Honest Beauty {Get the Runway Looks}

This is New York Fashion Week.

The iconic week of runway shows, parties, glamour and glitz gave a couple of our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums, Rachel Zoe and Jessica Alba, a perfect opportunity to collab.

For Rachel Zoe Spring 2019 Collection show held on Tuesday night, Alba’s new cosmetic line, Honest Beauty, made up the models who walked the runways to Zoe’s show.



“I am so excited to have Honest Beauty partner with the Rachel Zoe Collection since both brands are all about achieving an effortless, chic style” Alba shared about the look that her lead makeup artist  Monika Blunder created.  “I especially love the look that she did on the eyes using the Honest Beauty Eyeshadow Palette. The palette is foolproof and has versatile shades that are perfect for taking your look from Summer to Fall.”

Honest Beauty lead makeup artist Monika Blunder offered some deets on the look she gave the girls.

“I wanted to create a fresh-faced, Parisian inspired look utilizing monochromatic pink shades that are subtle and allow your skin to shine through,” Blunder said of her inspiration for the look. “I’m obsessed with how chic the lips are in this look – I just added the Honest Beauty lip crayon to the center of the pout and blended outward to achieve that effortless, flushed look.”

Queens Are Born in September {My Birthday Wish List}

More people are born in September than any other month. One of those people is ME!

Today is my birthday! I put together my wish list and am publishing it here for anyone who wants to gift me something for this big day! (wink)

I’ve seen this very fun dark grey message shirt on Instagram, “Queens are Born in September” and it’s perfect. I found it on Etsy! This “Queens are Born in September” tee is 100% preshrunk cotton and I love that it comes in a v-neck because that makes it even more feminine. ($20)

 

I, like a lot of people, am naturally attracted to the neckline so I have always wanted to have a signature necklace I could wear everyday. A birthstone necklace is in order.

If I could get the world, I’d love this 14K White Gold Diamond and Oval Sapphire Trio Accent pendant ($425) but I’d totally settle for this much cheaper  cute Birthstone Necklace by LA Mini Jewelry Ultimate Karma Eternity Necklace ($43.20)

To match, I am digging AroshaTaglia‘s sterling silver CORAL Blue Saphhire ring ($215).

For the earth girl in me, Luxezen’s Raw blue sapphire gemstone stud earrings  ($58.75) are gorgeous and a marvelous fit! These earrings are made of unique raw stone nuggets hand paired for size, cut and color and set in gold filled, rose gold filled, or sterling silver ear posts.

Because I am a big fan of message tees, I am crushing on Bougie Girl Shop‘s I Am A September Woman shirt which also reads, “I Am Stronger Than You Believe, Braver Than You Know, Smarter Than You Think”($20) which is a very timely and relevant message for me right now in my life.

I need a nice bag to schlep all my stuff in and only Burberry‘s Nova Check  Canvas Tote ($297) will do! It is spacious and a signature piece!

 

I’m older and blinder today and need to upgrade my eyeglasses with my new prescriptions. A pair of Gucci 51MM Optical Glasses ($119) will do just fine!

Because I plan to start recording a series of video snippets, I need make up because an on-call Make Up Artist is not in the budget right now. I’ll take MAC Complete make up kit ($55)to hold me over until the big bucks come flowing in.

Finally, my last laptop died. I know Apple Mac Books are best but I’m still a Microsoft girl so Inspiron 14 3000 laptop will be a great replacement($229)

The 10 Items To Stock in Your Fall Maternity Wardrobe (+PLUS SIZE)

This fall, as you shop for your wardrobe for essentials to last you through the season whilst carrying a baby while pregnant or as a new mom, keep in mind some of these basic pieces.
If you start your capsule collection in your wardrobe with these key wardrobe items, you will be well on your way to establishing a foundation of basics and can go from there.

1. Black Dress – The classic black dress comes in maternity styles and is a perfect thing to wear for a variety of outings, date nights, corporate parties, concerts and more!

2. Wrap dress – A wrap dress is THE best option, especially in black, for any event. It works well in casual, after 5 or more formal occasions. Use accessories and shoes to make it appropriate.

 

3. Fitted Suit –  Even if you cannot find a suit tailored to your belly, a blazer that fits on the shoulders but is tapered at the waist and a matching pair of maternity slacks will do. It’s not easy to wear a traditional suit with extra belly, but it can be done.

 

4. White Collared Button Down Shirt  – Every woman must own a white button down collar shirt in her wardrobe. A crisp shirt is great for the office or weekend.

5. Silk Scarf – A colorful silk scarf will add the spark of flavor and style to a monochromatic or otherwise vanilla outfit.

6. Khaki pants – Khaki pants can complement a variety of tops and are casual but can still be pulled of at more formal events or venues if paired with some pears or a twin set.

7. A Tote – A staple for any woman whether she is preggers or not is a handbag tote that can fit all of her essentials and then some. These can double as a diaper bag too if necessary and are more stylish than typical diaper bags.

8. Bulky Sweater – A bulky sweater is your friend when the temperature drops and even if you are going into venues with the air conditioning still blasting. Get them in dark colors that can complement whatever you are wearing.

9. Diamond Studs – Classic studs can be dressed up or down and if you are toting around an infant, she won’t yank them out your ear as she would a pair of hoops.

10. Stretchable Boots – that can expand as your calves grown and that have more give so it is not too constraining and tough on your circulation

Nicole Richie Dishes On Her Tween Kids’ Personal Style

One of my very first Bellyitch Bumpwatch celeb moms Nicole Richie recently dished on her kids fashion aesthetic. Yes as tweens, kids have their own sense of style.

During an interview with E!, the “House of Harlow” designer and founder said about her kids having their own style identity, “my daughter is almost 11 and my son is 9 so they’re not trying to ask me to do anything.”

She expanded: “Sparrow dresses like [his dad and Richie’s husband] Joel [Madden] to not even think about it” but daughter Harlow dresses “feminine. She likes dresses…she goes into my closet.”

What to Look For When Shopping for a Nursing Bra

It is an undisputed truth that your breasts and cup size are likely to double or maybe triple during pregnancy, while nursing and afterwards. The process of growing a baby includes producing milk in your breast ducks. It’s nature’s way of making sure your infant will be able to have nourishment when born.

The term engorgement refers to the overproduction of milk that has not been expressed (squeezed out by hand or a pump) or consumed by baby. This also causes a new mom’s breast to no longer fit in the bras she wore before becoming pregnant.

Many expecting and new moms will go up in bra size as well. This growth will require her to get an entire new selection of nursing bras, sports bras, lingerie, work bras and more. Fortunately, there are a lot of all-in-one bras on the market to ease the cost of having to go out and purchase a lot of new bras.

Personally, I still wear the bras that I got for nursing because they usually are made of superior material and are quality-constructed to last the test of time. They have to be given all that snapping and unsnapping required while breastfeeding an infant. Some women breastfeed their babies until 18 months and beyond so they have to invest in a top notch bra like Knix which makes a comfy 8-in-1 evolution bra that is multi-functional and stylish.

When shopping for a new nursing bra, make sure to get one that is 100%, a blend of cotton and Lycra or another stretchy synthetic that grow with your fluctuating breasts.  This feature is important because if a nursing bra is too tight and puts pressure on your breasts, it can increase risk of mastitis and clogged milk ducts.

Women with larger busts should look for bras with wide-set strap with extra cushioning, a back band that has at least three or four rows of hook-and-eye closure options and side seams that sit almost under the armpit.

Also, a nursing bra shouldn’t cut into your breasts or cause them to spill out. The straps shouldn’t dig into your shoulders, and the band across your back needs to sit horizontally without riding up.

2018 MTV VMAs: Cardi B’s Baby Kultura Fake Out & Red Carpet Trends

Last night was the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards at Radio City Music Hall in New York, New York City on August 20.

Quite a few of our Bellyitch  Bumpwatch alums showed up and/or showed out with draw-dropping performances, on-stage antics, on the red carpet risks and MoonMan winning!

Jennifer Lopez gave an electrifying performance of a medley of her hits over the years before accepting the Video Vanguard Award, the first person of Latino heritage to win the coveted prize.

Cardi B surprised the audience by opening the show cradling what looked like a baby on stage

Many thought they would get the first glimpse of her infant girl Kultura with husband rapper Offset, but she later revealed it was a trophy.

Womp womp womp!!

Later in the evening, the “I Like It” rapper won three of several awards she was nominated for, Song of the Summer for “I Like It featuring Bad Bunny & J Balvin; Best new artist and Best Collaboration for “Dinero” Jennifer Lopez’s song with DJ Khaled Artist of the year.

She was nominated for Best hip hop, Artist of the Year, Best Latin album, also for Dinero and Song of the Year for “Finesse” with Bruno Mars

Beyoncé’s song “APES**T” with her husband Jay Z as part of their duo The Carters won a few technical awards for Best Cinematography and Best Art Direction though that song was also nominated for Best collaboration, Best Direction, Best Choreography,  Best Hop Hop, Best Editing And Video of the Year.

On the red carpet, JLo and Cardi showed out along with other alums Kylie Jenner and Blake Lively, coming through with the pant suit again.

MTV Reality show and other Bellyitch alums Heidi Montag, Nicky Hilton, Nicole “Snooki” Palozzi and Audrina Partridge graces the red carpet also.

One fashion trend that stood out to me was the inptricate sheet organza I saw on singing sisters and Beyonce protege Chloe X Haile, comedic actress Tiffany Hadish and British singing phenom  Rita Ora.

 

And finally, winning the sex kitten awards: a chaps and chisel abs donning Teyana Taylor, Blac Chyna and red cat woman Amber Rose.

Crazy, Sexy Cool: Blake Lively, Kim Kardashian and Jenna Dewan Won the Weekend

This weekend, stars were out and about looking fabulous as usual but three stood out style-wise:

Blake Lively was fierce in a tailored man’s suit compliments of a sharp pin-striped Zimmerman blazer, vest, and palazzo pants. Get the Striped crinkled silk wide-leg pants HERE and the blazer HERE!

While attending Atlanta rapper 2-Chainz’s wedding to longtime girlfriend Kesha Ward, Kim Kardashian-West sizzled in neon yellow Atsuko Kudo curve hugging dress with Gianvito Rossi Portofino Ankle-Strap Sandals. Sizzling!

Finally, actress and dancer Jenna Dewan  looked lovely in a beautiful floral feminine Jill Stuart dress with Nicholas Kirkwood  heels. Get a similar dress here

And Lively and Tatum stayed true to a uniform look all weekend with both being spotted out and about in similar looks. Lively in yet another unique man suit, this time by Roland Mouret with Christian Louboutin heels while carrying a Valentino purse and Tatum in a cute off the Cotton On shoulder frock!

The Budget Stylish Mom’s Back To School Capsule Wardrobe (Under $100)

A lot of families are going to be outlaying a lot of cash for Back-To-School shopping, including on school supplies, new bookbags, shoes, uniforms, computer equipment and more.

There may be little to nothing leftover for mom to update her wardrobe and prepare her for a new year catching up on the playground gossip with her mom friends before and after school.

I’m in the same boat so to help out my fellow budget stylish moms who do not want to sucumb to the frump and to stay current, I curated a 10-item capsule collection, including accessories, with items that are all about $10 each!

Because late Summer, early fall days require flexibility, a light jersey shirt, perhaps in a neutral color like gray, would make a great item. I found that Missguided sells its Active Gray Long Sleeve Sports Tee  for $4 now

Grab a pair of Athletic Works Women’s Ballet Flat  for $8. They can be slipped on in the morning rush!

A comfy pair of stylish blue denim jeans is in order as well. You can get H&M’s  Slim Ankle High Jeans  for $8. Stay warm in an air conditioned building by always packing a cardigan. I like UNIQLO Women’s Supima Cotton Uv Cut V-Neck Cardigan which also runs for about $8.

Alternate the jeans for casual yoga pants. Generic Women’s High Waist Tummy Control Yoga Capris Pants Leggings Bodyshaper Shapewear  is also around $8!

No time to do your hair!? No problem! Throw on a cap. Forever 21’s Gingham Cap is just $4!

I am a fan of shirt dresses because I think they flatter most shapes in a

Minimalist but chic way. H&M has a Long Sleeve V Back Dress for close to 12 bucks!

An accent scarf is good to always carry on you because it can double as a shawl, be used to cover items in an open tote or a head covering in case you’re caught out in the rain.

I love Forever 21’s Plaid Oblong Scarf which is selling for $11 right now.

Speaking of totes. Every mom needs a large shopper tote that is big enough to fit her stuff and her kid’s forgotten lunch, toys, snacks and other accessories. A canvas tote will do or get one in a durable leather like Avenue’s $21 Filipa Tote!

The sum total of This capsule wardrobe that you can mix and match with other pieces for this late summer early Fall is just…

Yes, you got me! The real allthatisthree line-up and sizing has been revealed ?. We’ve spent two days at @batubatuisland and Penny now believes that we’re mermaids – and who am I to say otherwise. We’ve spent the last two days in the sea; we’ve spotted ‘Nemo’ and ‘Dory’, and swam alongside their friends. Tonight we saw ‘Sebastian the crab’ ? down at the beach, scurrying away from our torch light, and then spotted Batu Batu’s residential but rare Green Turtle coming up for air at the jetty. We have sand in our hair and saltwater in our mouths (one part of being a mermaid that we aren’t too keen on), and we’re keen on helping to clean up the oceans. This all makes us qualified mermaids, right? ??‍♀️ #allthatisthree

We discover The Lewis’s, a traveling family that is tres fashionable as well. Catch the troupe of seven, including their adorable pooch, daily on their family stream looking super cute and coordinated.

From stalking the feed, it appears, the account first only featured mom in her chic outfits and was a traditional fashion Gram. Then starting Halloween, with a very popular post featuring the family as Star Wars characters, she continued the trend on her feed. First, only with her and the kids, then later dad joined in the fun.

Oh Heyyyyy Y’all! We’ve missed you so! … Soooo let me tell you why we didn’t post last week. Well there’s two reasons: 1) My husband was mad at me last week because I sent him a text that he didn’t necessarily agree with. ? So , it caused another shutdown. We weren’t really speaking to each other, because I pulled a him on him! #CheckMate … So I played the silent games, walked around the house naked, threw on the chastity belt, and ignored him.
