Bump Watch: Mila Kunis Goes Brave in a Jumpsuit at NYC ‘Bad Moms’ Premiere

mila kunis

Actress Mila Kunis was legit giving me sultry chic mom when she walked the red carpet to the New York City premiere of her new movie Bad Moms at Mila at Metrograph on July 18, 2016.

The 2nd time mom-to-be, who met her actor and tech investor husband Ashton Kutcher while the two co-starred on the long running hit show That 70s Show, skipped a traditional dress and went bold in a black jumpsuit with embroidered trip and pink pumps. Traditionally, pregnant ladies who make frequent trips to the bathroom avoid something that requires a ton of work to put on and take off.

She swapped out her usual shoulder length dark hair with a bob that framed her face, smokey eye and pink lip. I wish there was more volume to her bob but overall, I love the look.

And on her wrist was the traditional red string bracelet that is commonly worn among followers of the ancient Jewish spiritual tradition, Kabbalah. This is the second child for the Kutchers. They are parents to 1-year old Wyatt Isabelle Kutcher, born in October 2014.

airport style

Yes Celebrity Airport Style is a thing. Regular folks like you and I know that when we travel by air, we need to be comfortable so we may layer t-shirts, wear jeans, yoga or jogging pants, slip on shoes and a sweater or shawl. But if you know that you will be photographed by tons of paparazzi from the curb to the gate, you might as well look fabulous, right?

I mean, there are  even Tumblr blogs dedicated to Celebrity Airport Fashion.  Here are how some our Bellytich Bumpwatch alums dressed pretty chic, sophisticated and heavily over-styled for taking a flight.

TREND: Chokers for The Fashionably Less Bold

Chokers are all the rage but they don’t look that great on everyone. You might have to have the right outfit, confidence and look to pull it off.

But there are less bold options out there for women who are choker-timid.

A thinner strap choker tied in a bow is dainty and less in your face choice. Source

Instead of a thick strip material, a choker that is a trio of thinner straps can work. Source

A colored choker tied in one bow rocks. I like this green one. Source
Wear your choker like a piece of jewelry. Get one with beads or jewels. Source
Here is a choker that is a combination of a the less conspicuous choker looks. It is colored, has thinner strips in a row, tied I a bow and also resembles an article of jewelry.

Kourtney Kardashian is one hot mom who wears chokers best.

Whether you dare to go bold or just admire from afar, chokers are a fab fashion trend that is here to stay!

Your Diaper Bag Can Reveal A lot About Your Personality; Here’s How

dani

Diaper bags have come a long way and are considered more than just functional totes to store bottles, a changing pad and other bibs. Diaper bags are also stylish and can be an extension of mom (or dad’s) personality. For a few years, starting in 2009, we did a biennial run down of the most expensive diaper bags, but nowadays, you don’t have to pay a lot of money for a fab diaper bag. You can get chic and trendy bags at lower price points, and a variety of styles.

Want to now what you diaper bag says about you? Kristi Valentini at Mode gives us a quick rundown:

The Fly Mom’s Choice: 10 High Waist Bikinis Under $25

high waist bikini

We are still deep in summer swimsuit season. Making a splash again on the beaches is the high waist bikini. The style of bathing suit is preferred among stylish moms who want to skip wearing the suit with the skirt matched with a tankini.

Another benefit of the high waist bikini is that it provides coverage over your not so flat and a bit wrinkly belly, your battle trophy from carrying a child to term and giving birth. Also, many high waist bikini bottoms have a natural compression aspect to them. They are great for holding everything together.

I love them! For stylish moms on a budget, I’ve curated a list of high waist bikini that all cost under $25! At that price, you can nab 4 and be all set for the rest of the summer! If you’re not interested in these, perhaps they can give you inspiration and ideas for the next time you are out bathing suit shopping.

Enjoy!

Unlikely Trend: Modest Swimsuits Are In Demand

modest

The trend toward more modest fashion coverage among the teen set is gaining momentum.

Recently, a 15-year old started a campaign on change.org pleading retailers to offer more modest fashions. And retailers are listening  because both teens themselves and their parents are driving the market toward more modest options.

This change also applies to the swim suit industry with more labels now  offering full coverage swim suits. They are in demand for several reasons:

  • As swim wear become more and more provocative, conservative parents want more options.
  • Many women are not comfortable having their body exposed in swimwear and prefer more material.
  • People of certain religions and sects like Muslim women and Orthodox Jews cannot have their body exposed in public.
  • Fair skinned people who sunburn easily and those with medical conditions that require limited sun exposure also need swimwear.

HydroChic is one such brand, founded by two women Sara Wolf and Daniella Teutsch who had challenge finding age-appropriate swimwear for pre-teens that’s fashionable but not skimpy. The New Rochelle, NY-based company offers more modest styling options for young girls, as well as missy & plus sized women. It also provides coverage, sun protection and chlorine resistance for young kids and ‘tweens’, as it does for the grown-up set.

“The vibrant, young swimwear line champions affordable fashion swimwear for the style-savvy girl who wants more coverage, either for greater sun protection, modesty or just personal taste,” co-founder Sara Wolf says.

The line has extra features including hidden zipper pockets and lightweight, fade resistant fabrics for young swimmers. Prices start at $78 for a two-piece set.

HydroChic is available at select stores throughout the US, Canada, Australia, South Africa and Israel, and online.

Rock the Off-The-Shoulder Trend Even While Preggers like Blake Lively

off the shoulder

The off-the-shoulder top and dress is trending this summer. This month, while promoting her newest movie, Blake Lively proved that even moms-to-be can rock the sexy style. Many of the off-the shoulder tops you will find in retail stores are A-line or Tent shirts. That means they are already made of a cut and shape that can accommodate a baby bump. Certainly, off-the-shoulder mini dresses can be worn in casual settings, on the weekend and even dressed up.

I’ve curated my faves. Click the image to be taken off site to learn more about each look:

Review: I Loved these 3D-Printed Eyeglasses I Tested Out Recently

aspire review

As a busy momtechpreneur who is constantly in front of a computer and experiences eye strain at times, I was excited to be given the opportunity to test out a pair of 3D printed prescription eyeglasses made by a relatively new brand called Aspire eyewear.

Aspire is the brand of the vision wear company and retail chain ClearVision Optical. After getting an eye exam and faxing the prescription to the brand’s rep, a complimentary review pair of the style “Adventurous” arrived at the office.

Off the bat, I was impressed that frames were fashionable and super light. The frames in this brand are made up of a new nylon polymer material called SDN-4 which is lighter in weight than typical plastic frames.

The beauty of the 3D technology printing option is that the company can quickly develop a new series in 60 minutes compared to the 20 weeks it traditionally takes. Therefore, the company can stay on trend and quickly react to changes in design preferences or with emerging and new innovation.

The brand launched in 2015 with the philosophy for this label  based on the question: “What do you Aspire to Be?

Consequently, the initial designs were based on 12 “personality-driven looks: Memorable, Dedicated, Unique, Outstanding, Expressive, Creative, Free, Independent, Powerful, Special, Stylish and Connected.

Colors and style range from Boho-inspired florals and animal print designs for women, and modern, masculine, suiting inspired designs for men and women.

Later versions included Poetic, Artistic, Romantic, Influential, Real and Wise. We were sent a pair to review and can certainly attest to the fact that they are indeed pliable and flexible.  We tried out the Adventurous model and agreed it is very  lightweight (the glasses are 22% lighter than typical titanium frames).

The frames were extremely thin but durable at the same time.  Throughout the review period of about two weeks, the glasses stood the test of daily wear. They are easy to clean and are attractive and eye catching.  There is an adjustable nose pad as well with each pair.

Aspire Eyewear is available exclusively at ClearVision retail locations. Suggested retail pricing for the brand ranges from $249.99-$289.99. That is a moderate price range and worth the price for the quality.

The only thing that could have been better is the case that it came in is plastic and a bit on the flimsy side. Overall, they certainly are a pretty good bet.

We’re Loving Angela Simmons’ Bikini and Maternity Style (PHOTOS)

Angela Simmons has been babymooning in the islands and on a boat with her mystery fiance. She shared a trio of bikini pics recently on her Instagram account that reveal her growing baby belly.

Simmons is expecting her first child with a person she has yet to reveal to the public. But she did reveal back in May that she expecting a boy.

“I can’t wait to kiss your little toes baby boy,” she captioned an Instagram photo of an ultrasound.

Before confirming the pregnancy, Angela hid her bump and dodged rumors  and since then has been showing it off more.

She is aunt to her sister Vanessa Simmons‘ daughter with her beau Michael Wayans and her brother JoJo Simmons’ first born child with his girlfriend. Vanessa gave birth to her first child, daughter Ava Marie Jean, in 2014 and younger brother JoJo just became a father earlier this year with his girlfriend, Tanice Amira.

We enjoyed bumpwatching Vanessa but I must admit Angela is so much more fun because she posts often in social media and her maternity fashion game is on fleek. Check it out. And this is just the early second trimester.

Angela Simmons Style

This sheer top with embellished adornments and black pencil skirt paired with cute black pumps is a super cute look. I love the slimming effect of the slim skirt. She went with the glam waves to the side for a bombshell look.

In another sheer and denim mini dress with a slight slit in the front with these nude Louboutins is adorbs. I love her plum lipstick and baby blue nails.

The off-the-shoulder shirt is trending this season. She could still wear distressed jeans in a non-maternity style in this pic even though she is a bit advanced in her pregnancy. Lucky girl.

The crimson medicine bag captures your attention but this black bump-hugging t-shirt dress is boss. Tossing the fatigues army shirt jacket over this dress makes this outfit set off and tres cute. And the Dwayne Wayne (A Different’ World character referenceshades rock. The blue sneakers give this look a sporty yet casual vice.

Simply chic and elegant. I love the mauve pumps too.

This layered tent top is perfect and I am lusting after those black and white pumps. Cute.

This striped dress with a cropped top revealing her bump is fab.

This track suit with the big floral print is so unexpected and are those Converse wedges on her feet?

Another fatigues print dress. Digging her sandals too. And all this is just the second trimester! Follow Angela on Instagram HERE! She announced plans to open up a retail store in Brooklyn for her previously online-only  boutique Angela I Am.

Fashion Support: When Celeb Moms Wear Other Celeb Moms

celeb moms

I think it’s cool when I see our Bellytich Bumpwatch alums supporting one another by wearing each other’s designs. Like this week, Jennifer Lopez was taking a break from her Vegas show and spotted in a Stella McCartney cotton sleeveless Lion Shirt and a pair of Victoria Beckham classic aviator shades.

Both McCartney and Beckham were featured prominently on the blog when they were expecting their respective last bundle of joy!

JLo paired the top with dark denim, while toting a Christian Loubotin Paloma leather tote with leopard print sides… and look, are those Converse sneakers, Chuck Taylors to be precise? (What do you think? Ping me and let me know.)

With all this talk about the mom hair and mom jeans, Converse trainers may be the new “mom tennis shoe” after all. (Smile)
