2015 VMA Awards Red Carpet & Show Roundup

Tonight was another celeb-studded musical event at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.

Several of our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums graced the red carpet before the event, took the stage and were nominated for quite a few awards.

Mega star Beyonce Knowles Carter was a no show even though she was nominated for 5 awards for her “7/11” Video (Best Female, Pop, Editing, Choreography, Video of the Year). She won only one for Best Editing.

Jennifer Hudson couldn’t make it either despite being up for the Best Video with a social message award for her song, “I Still Love You.”

On the red carpet, model Lily Aldridge stunned in a black Alexandre Vauthier couture gown with a plunging neckline, Stuart Weitzman shoes, Jen Meyer Jewelry earrings, Anita Ko bracelets, and an Edie Parker clutch.

Britney Spears showed mucho cleavage in a showgirls-esque gold sequined number with cutouts in the tummy.

Kim Kardashian West covered her bump in a long sleeve draped military style dress.

Her sis Kourtney Kardashian was giving up the sexy in a hot pink jumpsuit, fresh off of winning our 2015 Posh Mom Icon award.

Their family’s arch nemeses Amber Rose and Blac Chyna came dressed in matching nude outfits with cartoon caricture lettering featuring all the insulting names that people have called the duo who are headed for an MTV reality TV show this fall.

The show wasn’t without its dramatic moments, of course, including some toxic exchanges between show host Miley Cyrus and Nicki Minaj who won the Best Rap Video Award for video for “Anaconda“. It was the same video Minaj suggested was deserving for being up for the Video of the Year Award but was slighted because she felt the women featured in the video weren’t thin. Taylor Swift assumed it was a slam against her given all the women in her Bad Blood video were pretty much rail thin and the two had a brief Twitter beef which reeled their fans in on it and was more or less squashed until Cyrus added her two cents during a promo appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Cyrus said Minaj was “not nice”. The rest is history and can be seen on Twitter but since we’re about promoting positivity by and among women, we’ll leave it at that.

Ciara showed off a new bob in a fringed black outfit and Law and Order‘s Mariska Hargitay made an appearance in all black while walking with the other members of “The #SwiftSquad” from Taylor Swift‘s “Video of the Year” winning video “Bad Blood.”

My fave look for tonight came from singer Tori Kelly who looked stunning in a a laced long sleeved top tucked in a cute pair of high waisted shorts with a gold clutch and black bowed pumps, with tussled hair to complete the look. Her bronze sheer makeup was flawless. Yassss!

What celeb moms did this weekend (PHOTOS)

It was a busy weekend for celeb moms we’ve covered in the past. We’ve got photos to commemorate the weekend.

Jennifer Hudson performed her duet with Iggy Azalea outfitted in the sexy cop get-up she usually wears when performing that song. She looked great in the version at the I Heart Music awards (above) and the Kids Choice Awards (below).

Kelly Clarkson hit the night out at Muhammad Ali‘s Celebrity Fight Night XXI on Friday, March 27, 2015. Loved her outfit! Very fashion forward and hip.

Also, Friday, we spotted How to Get Away with Murder star Viola Davis and her 3-year old daughter Genesis at the Nick Kids’ Choice awards GBK gifting suite.

The next day across country, Michelle Obama received a standing ovation on Saturday at the taping of BET‘s 2015 Black Girls Rock! event at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, where she gave a powerful, inspirational speech.

The Smiths were in the house: Jada Pinkett, Willow and Will, looking like the hip ultra chic family we know and love.

On Sunday, Carrie Underwood shared on her Instagram page new picture of her and NHL player hubby Mike Fisher‘s newborn son, Isaiah Michael Fisher.

“The Predators are in the playoffs!” Underwood wrote with her son clutching a Nashville Predators hockey stick. “Just waiting to get called up! #PutMeInCoach.”

During the airing of I Heart Radio Awards, Kelly Clarkson rocked the stage with her latest single, “The Heartbreak Song.”

Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams and Beyoncé Knowles Carter reunited Deatiny’s Child briefly at the Stella Awards at the Orleans Center in Las Vegas, Nevada to sing Williams’ gospel song that features her ex-bandbates: “Say Yes“.

Celeb moms at 2015 Nick Teen Choice Awards

The 28th annual Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards went down yesterday, March 28th at The Forum in Inglewood California.

Several of our past Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums attended with their families including Oscar-winning actress and singer Jennifer Hudson with her son David Daniel Otunga, Jr.

She and Iggy Azalea performed their song together, “Trouble.”

Angela Jolie was there in a long black Verscae dress with Zahara and Shiloh and won for her role as Maleficent.

During her award speech, the Academy-Award-winning actress who recently removed he ovaries and Fallopian tubes as a cancer-preventive move told the audience:

“When I was little, like Maleficent, I was told that I was different. And I felt out of place — too loud, too full of fire, never good at sitting still, never good at fitting in,” the humanitarian said. “And, then one day I realized something, something that I hope you all realize: Different is good.” And Jennifer Lopez showed serious leg in a white Robert Cavalli minidress and Jimmy Choo heels. Garcelle Beauvais was also in the house.

Oscars 2015: What Celebrity Moms Wore on the Red Carpet (PHOTOS)

In addition to the celeb moms we’ve covered in the past who were nominated last night (Reese Witherspoon, Marion Cottilard, Keira Knightley, and Sienna Miller) and those new moms (Scarlett Johansson and Zoe Saldana), we also saw some uber wow-worthy dresses and looks from our other Bellyitch bumpwatch alums at the 87th Annual Academy Awards which took place at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California last night.

Blush dresses were trending and Jennifer Lopez looked stunning as usual in a Cinderella-style Elli Saab dress with a cute little Salvatore Ferragamo clutch. Love the all neutral look. Simple and elegant.

This has got to be my all time fave look on Kerry Washington ever. This embroidered Miu Miu blush tone peplum dress was a stand out last night. She accented the look with Fred Leigton jewels, jeweled Christian Louboutin pumps and a Miu Miu box clutch.

I thought Jenna Dewan-Tatum too stood out in all white Zuhair Murad Couture gown, accessorized with diamonds and a Lee Savage clutch. Love how the pop of red lip made this look stand out. So graceful.

It was a safe yet another knockout look from Jennifer Hudson who dazzled in a Romona Keveza and Jimmy Choo sandals. I loved the Oscar winner’s make up too. She slayed!

Anna Farris looked angelic in this shimmery Zuhair Murad Couture dress paired with Jimmy Choo sandals, a Judith Leiber clutch and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Georgina Chapman looked stunning in a black with embroidered floral Marchesa dress of course.

Not a mom but my fave for the night was Samurai Girl actress Jamie Chung in an absolutely gorgeous Yanina Couture gown. Love it!

Jane Fonda wowed for a woman in her late 70’s in this Zuhair Murad Couture sheer jumper with Niwaka jewels. Amazing a woman of her maturity can pull off such a hawt look. Me love it!

2105 Grammy Award Red Carpet Fashion (PHOTOS)

Tonight was the 57th Annual Grammy Awards held at STAPLES Center on February 8, 2015 in Los Angeles.

And as usual, we spotted many of the celebrity mothers we’ve written about on Bellyitch in the past on the red carpet.

Congratulations to Beyonce (Best R&B Performance & Song) Erica Campbell (Best Gospel), Carrie Underwood (Best Country), Christina Aguilera (Best Pop Duo/Group) and Toni Braxton (Best R&B album) who all won awards tonight.

Here is what they wore (will update with more specifics later):

Congratulations to Beyonce in a laced with jewel overlay Proenza Schouler dress for winning the award for the best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song for “Drunk in Love” tonight, and being the most nominated woman in Grammy history.

Kim Kardashian looked stunning in Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2015 robe dress and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. I loved her new haircut. Her makeup was flawless. The shape was a bit odd, but I think she pulled it off. Love. Love!

I thought Gwen Stefani in this black Spring 2015 Atelier Versace cropped jumpsuit looked hip and youthful. I was blown away to see her stray away from her signature red lip for once. Wow! .

Jennifer Hudson worked it in a white Tom Ford pencil length strapless dress. I like the trendy purple lip and that she is still rocking that pageboy hair cut.

Nicole Kidman in pre-fall 2015 Thierry Mugler and Prabal Gurung heels. This look is perfect and she looked healthy and amazing. That blunt bob cut is very current. Nice!

Ciara was going for the wow factor here in this gorgeous couture Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2014 gown with black “Mea Culpa” Christian Louboutin pumps.

Toni Braxton looked like a goddess in Marc Bouwer Fall 2015.

Congrats to Erica Campbell who won the Best Gospel Gospel album for her solo project, “Hero”. She was regal in a royal purple dress by LUM, toting a petite glack Onna Ehrlich clutch with Casadei Offiical pumps.

This is such a different but very gorgeous look for Giuliana Rancic in Steven Khalil with Gianvito Rossi shoes and Jack Vartanian earrings.

And another stunner Giuliana Rancic later in a Bouchra Jarrar jumpsuit.

Not a mom but my fave for the night was Rihanna in Giambattista Valli. Yeah, she was meme-ified a bunch tonight, but I think she owned the moment, stood out and glowed. Her make up was flawless, the strapless halter bodice portion fit perfectly and the billowy layers made me smile.

Fergie‘s new song “L.A. Love “ is hot and catchy though there is no video for it yet.

Tamar Braxton Herbert recently collaborated with hip hop crooner Future on her latest “Let me Know” and released the audio for it on her YouTube account earlier this month.

It’s a bit old now, but 5 months ago, 2nd time mom to be Shakira released the video for her World Cup Soccer song, “La La La”

Mom-to-be Carrie Underwood just released her latest single “Something in the Water”. No video yet, but take a listen to the audio.

This Summer, Jennifer Hudson dropped the popping song, “Walk it out” and released its video

This Spring, Lily Allen shared the video for her song “Sheezus”

Erica Campbell of Mary Mary‘s video for her single “Help” came out this winter in February, but I’m squeezing it in here anyway to represent pop gospel!! ha!

We loved Carrie Underwood‘s look at Tuesday night’s Concert for Valor in Washington, DC on Veterans Day. She dazzled in an Alice + Olivia coat, knee-high fitted velour Amanda Gregory boots in a sensible heel for a mom-to-be and a fab scarf by Halogen. She accented the look with

Vincent Peach earrings.

Pregnant Carrie Underwood wowed the crowd at The Concert For Valor in Washington, D.C. on Veterans Day, singing a song that has brought comfort and hope to scores of military families, and also recently shared a touching personal story to mark the bittersweet holiday.

The 31-year-old country star showcased a winter wonderland-inspired look on stage at The National Mall, wearing a black, long sleeve, empire waist, flowy, tuxedo-collar coat dress with a speckled skirt that draped over her growing baby bump, paired with an ivory scarf and black, stiletto over-the-knee suede boots. She is expecting her first child, a baby boy, with husband Mike Fisher, 34, in spring 2015.

Tuesday’s Veterans Day concert aired on HBO and also featured performances from Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters, Zac Brown Band, Metallica, The Black Keys, Rihanna, Eminem and fellow American Idol alum and Grammy winner Jennifer Hudson.

Underwood sang her 2013 single “See You Again,” her 2006 hit “Before He Cheats” and her new song “Something in the Water,” backed by the Singing Sergeants of the U.S. Air Force, Time magazine reported.

40 Celebrities who gave birth after 40

When Actress Laura Linney gave birth to her first child this January 15, she became the oldest celebrity woman to give birth “naturally” at age 49. She outseated actress Kelly Preston who gave birth to her son Benjamin when she was 48. It was the first child for the The Truman Show star and her husband since 2009, Marc Schauer.

Linney was among a long list of celebrities who managed to stay under the radar for the majority of their pregnancy including: Tamar Braxton, Adele, Nicole Richie, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Simpson and Beyonce who all announced at the 5th month mark that they were “with child.” She was more successful than Lost actress Evangeline Lily, who never told anyone she was pregnant and was eventually busted by paparazzi at 8 months pregnant while she was living in Hawaii. Linney also bested Jennifer Hudson who looked to be about 8 months pregnant when a wayward photographer caught her and her boyfriend out and about, trying to be inconspicuous.

And at 49, Linney also joins the over 40 baby club which includes:

NICOLE KIDMAN gave birth to her first child, Sunday Rose, at the age of 40 with her husband, Keith Urban.
SUSAN SARANDON gave birth to her son, Jack at age 42. Three years later, she welcomed another son, Miles, at age 45.

Is Eva Mendes 7-Months pregnant with Ryan Gosling’s kid?

Sources close to US Weekly say that actress Eva Mendes and her boyfriend actor Ryan Gosling are expecting their first child together. The source also reveals that the Hitch star is in her last trimester of pregnancy at 7 -months!

Wow! If she is that far along, we will have to add her to the long and growing list of celebrity women who managed to conceal their pregnancies well beyond their 5th month gestation which include Nicole Richie, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Simpson and Beyonce who didn’t announce until their 4th or 5th month and Jennifer Hudson and Evangeline Lily who weren’t discovered until nearly term.
