Bravo TV’s Real Housewives of Atlanta star Shamea Morton Mwangi celebrated the impending birth of her daughter at the Four Seasons Atlanta Hotel this weekend during a Tutus and Tiara-themed baby shower.
Several of the celebrity guests including her RHOA castmates (current and former) came out including our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum Kandi Burruss, current moms-to-be Porsha Williams and Kenya Moore, who was outfitted in a pink tutu as well, and Sheree Whitfield.

And the parents took home scores of gifts! Fun!
“Alara Mir ❤️ Born 9/30/18,” the eyelash entrepreneur captioned a photo of herself cradling her baby girl with her hubby hugging them both. “Our hearts are so full. Thank you for choosing us to be your parents. ”
The ex-attorney also used the opportunity to plug one sixth of her latest eyelash offerings, her “The Living Your Best Life” collection.
“Wearing the ‘MILF’ Lash during delivery by @LillyLashes,” she finished off the caption. Other lashes in the collection are named “Trophy Wife“, “It’s Lit“, “Okurrr” (a signature term used and made popular by fellow Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum rapper Cardi B), “nstafamous” and “Yasss Queen”. All of them are pop culture terms and certainly fitting! I love the packaging and branding!
That’s how you do it.
Ghalichi and Mir got in August 2016 after dating for several months before having a lavish wedding last May 2017 in Beverly HIlls.
Per E!: “They met in an odd way—they were neighbors and didn’t even know it! She sought approval from her condo’s homeowners’ association to obtain an additional parking spot for her Ferrari and he was on the board. After exchanging emails, they met in their building’s lobby. The meeting was recorded on the complex’s security footage.”
Interesting! Congrats!
The Primetime Emmy Awards went down last night and in lieu of Red Carpet coverage, I’m posting to give a shout out to two of my Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums who won and were visibly shocked about it too: Thandie Newton and Regina King
Newton won for Best Actress, Drama, for her role on Westworld. During her acceptance speech, Newton wished her daughter a happy birthday, accidentally dropped the F-bomb, and then Thanked God…even though she might be an atheist.
“I don’t even believe in god but I’m going to thank her tonight,” said Newton.
Another fave, actress, producer and director Regina King looked shocked when she was announced as the winner of the Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for the TV show she brought to the little screen, Seven Seconds, about a woman whose son is killed in a cycling accident by a police officer, the cover up and the effect of the scandal on a little town.
King had previously won two Emmys in that category for her work in ABC’s American Crime in 2016.
Watch her acceptance speech:
“I only have 37 seconds; I wrote this 43 years ago,” said Winkler, who has been nominated six times in his illustrious career. “Skip Brittenham said to me a long time ago, ‘If you stay at the table long enough, the chips come to you,” and tonight I got to clear the table.”
Yay! Congrats!
This is New York Fashion Week.
The iconic week of runway shows, parties, glamour and glitz gave a couple of our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums, Rachel Zoe and Jessica Alba, a perfect opportunity to collab.
For Rachel Zoe Spring 2019 Collection show held on Tuesday night, Alba’s new cosmetic line, Honest Beauty, made up the models who walked the runways to Zoe’s show.
Honest Beauty lead makeup artist Monika Blunder offered some deets on the look she gave the girls.
“I wanted to create a fresh-faced, Parisian inspired look utilizing monochromatic pink shades that are subtle and allow your skin to shine through,” Blunder said of her inspiration for the look. “I’m obsessed with how chic the lips are in this look – I just added the Honest Beauty lip crayon to the center of the pout and blended outward to achieve that effortless, flushed look.”
If you want to create a similar look, here’s how it broke down:
FOR THE SKIN:
Tip: Start and finish your makeup with a spritz of the Elevated Hydration Mist to condition and soothe the skin and lock in moisture.
FOR THE EYES:
Tip: Brighten up your eyes by sweeping Iced Cotton across your entire lid for a shimmery base followed by the Matte Plum from lash line to crease and a touch of Soft Bronze on the outer corners. Mix and smudge all three shades across the lower lash line and finish with a coat of the Extreme Length Mascara + Lash Primer.
FOR THE COMPLEXION:
Tip: Before applying foundation, start with the Everything Primer Matte to ensure your skin is shining in all the right places.
FOR THE LIPS:
Tip: Glide on a flush of color using the Lip Crayon in Demi-Matte Fig and complete with a tap of Magic Balm for a glossy finish (Apply any extra Magic Balm on Honest Beauty products are available at Honest.com, Target.com and select Target retail locations
During an interview with E!, the “House of Harlow” designer and founder said about her kids having their own style identity, “my daughter is almost 11 and my son is 9 so they’re not trying to ask me to do anything.”
She expanded: “Sparrow dresses like [his dad and Richie’s husband] Joel [Madden] to not even think about it” but daughter Harlow dresses “feminine. She likes dresses…she goes into my closet.”
Cool! Watch the clip of the interview below:
Because it is back to school season and parents are on the hunt for deals and top quality clothing for their school-aged children returning to school after the Summer Break, we are sharing some of the cool and super cute clothing that our affiliate partners at various children’s clothiers and brands are offering for sale this season.
We are starting with Gymboree.
This is a personal fave brand of the blog because we know from first hand experience that the quality of the clothing is superior. They last in the wash and the colors do not fade. The brand is known for selling very well coordinated pieces with whimsical characters or in solids, neutrals and other long-lasting hues. The clothing is made of natural materials mostly, and they look really cute.

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Here are our fave Instagram shares for the weekend from our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums, followers, fans, and others.
Moms tend to prefer the high waisted ones or belted swim versions like the Out From Under Peek-A-Boo Ring One-Piece Swimsuit that Urban Outfitters sell for $69.00 or its Out From Under Alli Belted High Cut One-Piece Swimsuit $59.99.
Our team has curated their top picks below:
Fresh off confirmation that they secretly wed, rappers Cardi B and her new husband Offset, celebrated the upcoming birth of their first child together at a lavish “Bronx Fairytale” themed wedding in Atlanta, Georgia this week.
The event, named for the New York city burrough where Cardi is from, featured a 16-foot topiary floral wall, room entrance ways that resembled a 6-car subway train, and several rooms draped in 26,000 pink and white flowers, created by C. Waymen Florals & Events. One area of one room featured a mock “Bardi Baby Bodega” stocked with personalized diapers, bottles, and more.
Guests chilled out in an elegant lounge area and noshed on custom-made piraguas, sliced fruit, and soul food, while sipping on pink coquito cocktails and Hennessy shots, as Vogue style writer put it, a nod to Cardi B’s sister, Hennessy Carolina.
I loved best the “Bardi Baby Book Library,” stocked with Latina and African-American children’s books like “Buenas Noches”, “Luna”, and “Viva, Frida”.
The center piece of the event was a five-tier cake, with each layer a different flavor fave of Cardi’s: Dominican pineapple, strawberry, red velvet, chocolate ganache, and honey bun.
Entertainment included Orchestra Noir, a hip hop orchestra group, and the Ballethnic dance company.
Guests took home as party favors custom purple baby blanket, a nod to the epic self portrait shawl Cardi once wore to the airport.
A glowing Cardi went with light pink bodycon dress with bold brushed silver statement necklace and earrings while Offset opted for a denim jeans and a jacket with a black turtleneck, a large cross necklace and a studded silver belt.
Guests included fellow rappers and our Bellyitch bumpwatch alums Rasheeda and singer Monica, and at one point in one video shared on Instagram, Hennessy can be seen dancing with the expectant mom and rubbing her protruding belly.
It was very much the electrifying shower the “Invasion of Privacy” recording artist told Rolling Stone in her cover story that she wanted the event to be.
“I want a lit baby shower. My baby shower’s not starting at no 5:00. My sh*t is going to start at 9 p.m. because that’s how I celebrate, that’s how Caribbean people celebrate,” Cardi said. “I don’t like baby showers that be at 5 p.m. in the backyard, eating, cooking hors d’oeuvres. Nah. Sh*t, I might even drink some red wine. Red wine’s healthy, right?”

Shahs of Sunset alum Lilly Ghalichi took to Instagram and YouTube to answer some of her fans and followers’ questions about her pregnancy. It was refreshing to me reviewing it to see that the ordinarily extremely svelte attorney was interested in maintaining the curves she’d grow after pregnancy.
Also, her husband told her to embrace the weight gain and pregnancy symptoms because it is a blessing to be a host to a baby.
She also shared her maternity style which really just consists of wearing tube dressed, specifically the Wolford Fatal Dress in all the colors: red, black and white.
Also, our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum Khloe Kardashian sent her a pair of her company Good American’s Maternity Jeans
Finally, on the suggestion of her health practitioner, she fought leg fatigue by wearing Jobst Compression Shocks.
It was also refreshing that she told her audience that there really isn’t any way to avoid getting stretch marks because it is genetic. And she is right, the marks appear sometime in the trimester, or even after.
While you cannot avoid the marks, you could do something to slow down their appearance or make them less visible and for the eyelash entrepreneur relies on Bio Oil that she slathers all over her tummy and everywhere gaining weight and or Tee Tree Oil for hair breakage.
To combat acne and other pregnancy-related face breakouts, Ghalichi turns to Murad Clarifying Mask.
As to the things she avoids, all the things he docs told her: She doesn’t drink alcohol or use nail polish unless it is toxic-free pregnancy-friendly polish. She avoids caffeine and cut out sushi, ignoring friends who said they took the risk and ate sushi but as a first time mom-to-be, Ghalichi says she wasn’t taking the risk.
Cravings was Popsicles and carbs thus her 1 pound per week pregnancy weight gain. At 20 weeks, she has gained 20 pounds and says she is comfortable gaining 40 more because she wants her body to do what it wants and to be the best for her baby girl.
Yes! Very refreshing. She is an ideal mom-to-be, who investigates, research and heeds to all the rules! Bravo!
Check out her maternity style on her archived Insta Story HeRE!
