These Internet Famous Twins Are Probably More Known Than Most Other Celeb Twins

The most famous celebrity twins may not be The Carters‘ (Rumi and Sir), Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony’s Max and Emme, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon’s Moroccan and Monroe, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s Knox and Vivienne’s, Julia Roberts’ Hazel and Finn or Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick’s Tabitha and Marion.

That’s because those sets of twins are kept private by their celebrity parents. They are rarely in the public eye and therefore, not likely recognizable to many, unlike each of their very famous parents!

That is not the case for this set of twins who are growing up in the public eye, in social media and  Youtube.

The 5-year old McClure Twins, Ava and Alexis McClure of East Orange, New Jersey girls have their own YouTube channel with close to 800,000 followers and over 60 Million views and an Instagram account with 1.3 Million followers.

The gorgeous pair’s parents are Nigeria-born Aminat (“Ami” for short) and Spanish-speaking Irish ancestry dad Justin (who also speaks Spanish fluently). Justin is a videographer and photographer and together with Ami, they  produce, edit and manage the twins’ Instagram, Youtube,  Facebook channel which boasts over 336,000 followers and their website.

Dad and Mom McClure also sell boutique dresses the girls have modeled in during New York Fashion Week and have appeared on Good Morning America and other national shows.

Their infant brother Jersey Tayo McClure is barely 2 months old and already has over 32,000 followers on his Instagram! Wow! What an Internet Famous family!

We previously blogged about a 6-year old who earned several million dollars last year reviewing toys. So with this type of success, it is no wonder that over 40 per cent of moms aged 18 to 34 in the United States created social media accounts for their baby before the child’s first birthday.

Another 7 percent made one before the kid’s second birthday. Majority however are battling with the thought in the first place.

Maybe it is a new media thing. Maybe a millennial thing. Whatever it is, it is quite fascinating!

Our Pick of the Top 13 Most Stylish Preggers Celeb of 2017

Last year, we followed some pretty stylish celebs throughout their pregnancies.

We selected the top twelve of the most fashionable.

#13 Chrissy Teigen, #12 Duchess Cate and #11 Naturi Naughton

13. Model, author and TV host Chrissy Teigen announced that she and hubby John Legend were expecting again after welcoming their first child, Luna following years of fertility struggles. We’ve seen her style focus on feminine maxi dresses with intricate floral themes this pregnancy.

12. Duchess Catherine is also expecting, but she is on baby number three with husband Prince William. She always carry small which makes her bump tough to discern under her usually monochromatic sheath dresses, nautical structure dresses, and rider pants and boots under sweater, her usual fashion scheme.

11. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing Power star Naturi Naughton get dressed up to promote the third season of her hit STARZ channel show. She mixed it up with bold color, bump hugging dresses, fun and flirty dresses and bright pumps.

#9 Bar Rafaeli, #8 Behati Prinsloo and #7 Tia Mowry Hardrict

10. Models models and more models. Though Miranda Kerr is on her second pregnancy, we loved seeing her and fellow Victoria Secret runway stars 9.  Bar Refaeli and 8. Behati Prinsloo show off their ity bity bikini wearing selves on the Gram. Prinsloo and her husband, Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine, are parents to a daughter, Dusty Rose, they welcomed in September 2016.

7. One half of our fave twin stars, Tia Mowry Hardrict also shows up on our top ten list as she has been showing off a more stylish pregnancy this round and some of it on her new YouTube video series show, Tia Mowry’s Quick fix. She too had some struggles before this pregnancy. Her son Cree with actor husband Cory Hardrict is 6 years old and she had discussed wanting to have a second shortly after he was born but was hamstrung by endometriosis.

#6 Toya Wright, #5 Amal Clooney and #2 Beyonce

6. Reality TV star Toya Wright has always been a fashion plate on the Gram so it was no surprise that she continue to wow us with her maternity looks. All eyes were on international human rights lawyer 5. Amal Clooney who welcomed her first children, twins with husband George Clooney this summer.

4. Lauren Conrad, 3. Ciara, . Miranda Kerr

4. Fashion designer and lifestyle brand Lauren Conrad didn’t share too many public photos of herself while preggers but shots of her baby shower shows she kept is streamlined, simple and feminine. And pop star 3. Ciara also was understated during her second pregnancy with husband Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.

2. Beyonce showed a lot more of herself this pregnancy compared to last when she remained a virtual recuse. As a result, her blog and social streams were flooded with fabulous, over-the-top, avante-garde looks!

Number 1 on our list is Khloe Kardashian who only acknowledge that she is 6 months preggers in the last few weeks of 2017. She sticks to a mainly black palette but her choice of oversized stylish sweaters and sweatshirts is comfy, relate able yet chic.

Serena Williams Is Great At Crowdsourcing New Mom Advice From Followers

Now that Tennis Champ Serena Williams is a mom, she is doing a brilliant job utilizing her multi-million followers on social media by crowdsource gathering insight and information into motherhood.

Last Saturday, she posted a photo of her daughter Alexis Olympia who refused to leave her side while having a meeting. The endearing photo showed the adorable tot with her hand around her mom and clinging on for dear life. Too cute.

“Happy Saturday! I had a biz meeting at my house and Olympia insisted on staying with me. It was so cute.” Williams captioned the photo. “She had one arm around me and the other one on me. It was so sweet. Share a raw pic and story of your young one I would love to see! Love you all.”

To that request, she got close to 14,000 comments from moms sharing photos of themselves with their children, some as old as 30-year olds who are still quite attached to their moms!

Williams also recently sought out support from her followers by querying them on how long they breastfead their newborn or infant children. “How long did you breastfeed?” the Grand Slam Champ asked. “Is it weird that I get emotional when I even just think about when it’s time to stop?”

Last week, Nike also announced that it planned to name one of its buildings in its complex after the brand ambassador.

“What a year it has been. First a grand slam win followed by a awesome baby… than the most magical wedding. What next? How about a building!!…” Williams shared of the news. “Nike announced yesterday that one of its new world headquarters buildings will be named after me. It will be the biggest on campus and is scheduled to open in 2019. I am honored and grateful! #TeamNike”

Williams and her husband Alexis Ohaniana welcomed their first child together, Alexis Jr., on September 1, 2017! That day, another marvelous Virgo was born.  [Note: the author of this blog post is a Virgo]

Isabella Oliver

Isabella Oliver is a celebrity fave maternity designer. When I was expecting, I wore some of these designs and found the signature ruching on the size forgiving and breathable. The aesthetic is simple and they stick to clean lines. I love this brand because you can wear the pieces under a denim or casual jacket or pair them with pearls and heels and the clothes work either way. IO also sells shoes, belts and other accessories.

Gymboree

I know from first hand experience that the quality of the clothing is superior. They last in the wash and the colors do not fade. The brand is known for selling very well coordinated pieces with whimsical characters or in solids, neutrals and other long-lasting hues. The clothing is made of natural materials mostly, and they look really cute. I’ve blogged about this brand often before because I am a believer in it. Naturpedic

Since your baby will be spending most of her time (up to 18 hours a day) in her crib, it is important to get the right mattress and not go cheap. Get the best you can.  An eco-friendly foam and innerspring mattresses like the ones sold by Naturpedic tend to be made with fewer chemicals, plastics, and PVC (vinyl), and a greater percentage of renewable and sustainable materials, such as cotton, fast-growing bamboo, coir, plant-based foam, and natural latex (rubber from tree sap that’s been injected with air). Also, the manufacturing process for some eco-friendly crib mattresses tends to produce fewer carbon emissions. The Naturepedic No-Compromise Organic Cotton Classic 150 crib mattress shown here has a “U.S.-grown organic cotton filling” and a polyethylene plastic waterproof surface that, the manufacturer says, is free of vinyl/ PVC, phthalates, lead, or antimicrobial biocides. It sells for $260. The outer cover of this mattress might limit the exposure to toxins.

ABC Mouse

I’ve boasted plenty about this online learning platform for kids. I purchased a subscription for my daughter when she was 4 and she followed the curriculum through the end. Today, she is a top reader, tests in the 99% for reading and gets all As in school. I credit her early start from this program which is having a sale through Cyber Monday of 63% off its annual fee. This is perfect equalizer for those who cannot afford to pay a tutor for their child like some of the most affluent amnong us. ABC Mouse is used in schools and many early learning centers around the nation and globe!

Wild Dill

I love Wild Dill because it combines commerce with conscious shopping. They source their goods direct from the creators in Africa, South America, Israel and all over the world and sell them online for a fair share of the profit which is different from what a lot of companies do: they steal the concept, create duplicates in China made of sub par material and market them as authentic.

Nested Bean

The latest on our radar is a swaddle blanket that takes the guess work out of swaddling a new born and adds technology of “touch” so baby can feel even more secure when sleep. It’s called The Zen Swaddle and it was created by a desperate mom who came up with an ingenious solution for some long sleepless nights.

Urth Box

Urthbox specializes in sending healthy, delicious and tasty new snacks from local stores and vendors.  Delivered each month, the curated collection is designed to serve as an alternative to unhealthy snacking in the face of stress, busy schedules, and other life struggles and to complement a healthy, fit lifestyle.

STEM (Science, Techonology, Engineering and Math) is a big deal these days and getting kids interested in this discipline of topics can be tough. With a subscription box from Creation Crate, your kid gets a project to make each time. It’s more than software though, the projects include a building component to it.

Jury Awards $26M to Brooklyn Couple Over Botched Twin Delivery

After undergoing IVF treatment, Brooklyn mom Danielle Madden Buck and her husband successfully conceived triplets.

The couple went along with docs when they recommended they bring only two babies to term because twins have a higher likelihood of survival, they said.

When Danielle started spotting at 20 weeks into her pregnancy, she went to Maimonides Medical Center in Borough Park on February 9, 2010 for consultation but the overcrowded hospital with overworked staff, according to court documents, messed up by sending her home.

“They didn’t feel like anything was going on,” Danielle told The New York Post, which published an article about Buck’s story and lawsuit against the hospital this week.

By the time she went back to the hospital on February 17 that year for a routine sonogram, it was too late. One of the twin’s head was crowning.

While the doctors were able to keep Danielle  pregnant until February 28, her twin girls Aleigha and Madelyn were born, weighing around 1.5 pounds each.

A month later, Madelyn died from an infection.

Danielle told the paper that it was utter chaos before the birth, explaining that she was moved multiple times before then.

“My bed was right in front of the nursery. The nurses kept saying, ‘Would you like us to bring your baby?’ and I said, ‘I didn’t have my baby, I don’t know if my children are going to make it,’ ” she said.

What is even worse is that she was only given the chance to hold her daughter who died once, Buck reports.

Her surviving daughter is deaf and cannot speak, and suffers from kidney failure.

Buck and her husband, Andrew, sued the hospital for $13.5 million, claiming negligence and a jury of 6, three men and three women, took only 8 hours of deliberation last week to award the couple double what they sought: $26.19M!

“It’s like a baby mill,” Buck told The Post of the hospital, which had the busiest maternity ward in the state at the time, according to reports.“At the end of the day, I thought, if I file a lawsuit and there was negligence on their part, maybe they’ll think twice before they send another mother home.”

Buck conceived without medical intervention about a year after the twins’ birth and gave birth to a boy.

The hospital said in a statement, “We are disappointed by the verdict but understand how hard it is for jurors to send a family home without monetary compensation when children are involved.”

It added: “We believe excellent care was provided, and presented very credible evidence to support that point — credible enough that the family’s own attorneys chose to enter into a bracketed settlement before the jury returned its verdict.”

April The Giraffe is Cleared For Another Pregnancy Amidst PETA Opposition

April The Giraffe, who took the Internet by storm earlier this year with the live streaming of the delivery of her baby calf Tajiri, has been cleared for another pregnancy but the news isn’t welcome to everyone.

Last week, Animal Adventure Park in Harpursville, N.Y. posted a photo of  Tajiri’s parents April and Oliver as part of the announcement of the news to its fans on Facebook.

That post has since garnered over 53,000 reactions on Facebook and has been shared more than 10,000 times, as of Monday morning. However, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, better known as PETA and a vocal critic of animal mistreatment, responded negatively to the news.

In a statement, Brittany Peett, PETA Foundation director of Captive Animal Law Enforcement, lambasted the park, accusing it of having “wrung every dollar and video hit that it could out of this giraffe’s pregnancy.” The statement also called on the park to “prioritize animal welfare over fleeting online fame and end its shameful giraffe-breeding program.”

Jordan Patch, the Park’s owner, responded to the accusation by touting the benefits of the live stream to elevating their educational platform and enhancing giraffe conservation.

“We didn’t ask for viewership, we didn’t promote the giraffe cam, and we certainly didn’t plan on a worldwide phenomenon. However, we received it,” Patch told USA Today. “We used the platform and audience to educate on giraffe conservation, dwindling populations and habitat destruction. We’ve been able to couple that message with the donation of tens of thousands of dollars to support the conservation efforts in Africa. We’ve made a difference, tangible change, with our efforts.”

Money raised through a naming contest for the park’s giraffe calf, born April 15, was donated in part to giraffe conservation, in addition to funding the park’s annual Ava’s Little Heroes fundraiser, which supports local families with a child fighting a health battle.

“At the end of the day, we all want what is best for animals,” Patch said. “While PETA fights the small battles, attacking efforts like ours, Animal Adventure and other facilities are taking on the war that is giraffe conservation.”

VIRAL: Atlanta Retiree Comforts Hospital’s Preemies When Parents Can’t Be There

During a time when there is a lot of bad news being circulated, the story about the retiree who provides kangaroo care to babies in an Atlanta NICU is heartwarming.

Last Friday, the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta posted a photo of David Deutchman holding a sleeping newborn on its Facebook page and within hours, the post went viral and was shown close to 179,000 times

“On Tuesdays, he visits the PICU to hold babies whose parents can’t be with them that day,” the hospital captioned the photo.” On Thursdays, he makes rounds in the NICU.

This photo was taken by baby Logan’s mom as she fought back happy tears. Logan has been in our hospital for six weeks. Every night, his mom goes home to be with his big sister. Every morning, she drives back to Scottish Rite feeling “anxious that he’s been missing his mommy.” On this particular morning, she walked into the PICU to find Logan—a preemie born at just 25 weeks—in the arms of David, who smiled and introduced himself as the ICU Grandpa. This photo captures just one precious moment with a legend of a hospital volunteer who’s been holding patients, and their parents’ hands, for 12 years.”

Who says there’s not enough love in the world? We also loved NOW THIS’ video roundup of this heartwarming story and this very special man:

Thank You Tamera Mowry-Housley for Raising Awareness About C-Section Postpartum Woes

Tamera Mowry-Housley shared some of her own personal insight into some of the pains that women who undergo a C-Section endure when viewers of her FOX panel talk show The Real started to reply to a segment today on the show.

One follower who replied to her general tweet about the realities of C-section especially when you’re nursing.

“I know sum1 whose c-section stitching came undone just from tryin to get out of the shower,” the Twitter user Eunice responded.

To that, The Real co-host said hers “came undone when” she “had to pick up” her son, Aden. Ouch!

Mowry-Housley and her husband FOX News Correspondent Adam Housley welcomed daughter Ariah Talea in July 2015 and son Aden Tanner in November 2012.

What followed was heartwarming and great for awareness building. Many other users offered their own stories which could elevate the understanding among those who have never had a C-section or have misconceptions about it.

I know personally,I could relate to the one about the guts on the tray. My husband almost passed out when she made the mistake of peering over the surgery screen and got an eyefull of entrails! Eeeek!

“Women don’t get enough credit for enduring this surgery(they put your organs on a tray, my Husband looked)&then going right into motherhood,” a woman named Dawn Venosa Mannix added to the discussion.

“It hurt to laugh, sneeze, cough, pee. Everything hurts,” chimed in user named Beach Bunni.  “We still have to care for our newborn while healing. It makes us stronger though.”

So true, sister!

Writing for HuffPo Parents, blogger Kate Auletta offers 9 things no one tells you about C-Section.

DURING THE SURGERY

1. That “mild tugging sensation” line was clearly first said by a man. Mild is perhaps the understatement of the century. You feel like the wind is being taken out of you as your teeth chatter from the anesthesia. This is not a surgery for claustrophobes, as you’re completely stuck on the table — arms pinned down — while the inability to breathe overwhelms you.

IN THE HOSPITAL

2. The catheter keeps you company in the days following birth because you can’t really walk to the bathroom without those trusty ab muscles helping you out (more on that below). And then, as in all cases with a catheter, you have to learn to pee again — the longer the catheter is in, it seems, the harder it is to remember how to pee. Also not fun when you have a nurse and some loved ones waiting outside the bathroom door and you feel like you’re 5 again.

3. Have someone teach you how to even get up and out of bed. Congratulations! Your ab muscles are completely non-existent now. The good news: Your arms are gonna get buff.

AT HOME

4. Do yourself a solid and go to your local drug store (or better yet, send someone else) to buy some big-ass high-waisted underwear. You’re not gonna want anything — zippers, buttons, elasticized underwear — coming near your stomach, especially the birth area, for a while.

5. Walking is a challenge. Your core is called your core for a reason. Go easy on yourself.

6. Those drugs are your best friend. Give yourself some time to wean off the heavy stuff. Stock up on Aleve, which you’ll also need daily, and be prepared to use it A LOT.

7. I’m getting really real here now: Get some Colace. Your first bowel movement will hurt that much more since you have no stomach muscles with which to push. But man, will you be proud when you walk out of that bathroom.

8. You can’t lift anything because of how it can affect your core, and you can’t really lean over to even empty the dishwasher. Basically, best case scenario is that you’re an immobile, milk-producing machine with a baby attached to your breast sideways cause you’re scared he or she will kick the scar.

9. Don’t worry. No matter how your child is born, it’ll still likely be the best thing that ever happens to you, you tired shell of your former self.

Thank you!
