Bollywood’s Aishwarya Rai Stunned in Ballgowns at Cannes

aishwarya
Our Bellyitch Bumpawatch alum, Bollywood actress, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, looked like Cinderella in the gorgeous voluminous ballgowns she wore to the Cannes Film Festival this week.

She started her fab journey last Friday, May 19 at the annual event in France at the premiere of Okja premiere in a baby blue lace overlay Michael Cinco Couture gown at Palais des Festival.

The next day, she hit up the premiere of the  120 Beats Per Minute, the former Miss Universe who was also declared by People magazine and “The Most Beautiful Woman in the World” went with crimson. She wore a Ralph & Russo Couture dress.

Try to keep up! Beyonce Knowles Carter is expecting her second and third children at the same time. Twins. Unlike with her pregnancy with her now 5-year old daughter Blue Ivy which she kept extremely private, this round, Mrs. Carter is a lot more open and public with her experience. One way she is sharing her journey to motherhood again is by posting up periodic photos of the outfits she wears to various events.

The recent is a look she wore on April 23, during a date night with her husband Shawn “Jay Z” Carter  for dinner at Nobu in Malibu, California, perhaps to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the release of her last project, a visual album “Lemonade.”

Celeb Trend: The Band Tee Never Goes Out of Style

079a118e-0bf5-4f5b-9b4d-5697694c2a32

I LOVE a rocker or a  band tee and so do a lot of the Celeb women we have”bump watched” in the past.

Jessica Simpson, Kim Kardashian and her sister Kourtney Kardashian, Kate Hudson and Alessandra Ambrosio have all rocked the band tee well when snapped out and about. (See above collage)

Not only are these chic t-shirts great way to pay homage to a fave performer or band of the present or yesteryear, but they are iconic fashion items that are forever in style.

Sleeveless, long sleeved, under a denim or leather jacket, with a pair of jeans or cropped shorts, they can be mixed and matched in any  casual look.

I’ve Insta-shared pics of myself in band tees featuring The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Nirvana, The Rolling Stones and more myself. (See collage below)

Daytime Emmy Red Carpet where Neutral and Sheer Reigned

6974a3a4-d093-4b7e-b70d-d7f7c66a6beb

Yesterday was the Daytime Emmy Awards held at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, California.

You can find a list of winners here!

Doing our usual red carpet scope out of the moms we have featured before on the blog, we saw the neutral and sheer trend still reigning strong.

Tamera Mowry poses for a portrait at “Portraits by The Artists Project Sponsored by Foster Granton” during the 44th Daytime Emmy Awards on April 30, 2017.

In a surprise shift from her usual conservative dress, Tamera Mowry-Housley showed out in a blush jeweled with pearls Tony Ward ball gown with nude tulle overlay and a sheer peekaboo top. Okay Tamera! We see you stepping out of your comfort zone.

img_5101

Not suprisingly embracing her curves was her co-host on her FOX syndicated show The Real Adrienne Bailonwho also went with neutral tone in a one shoulder curve-hugging. Love!

Jeanne Mai wore white and she, Loni Love and the entire cast posed backstage for a cast photo as part of the “Portraits by The Artists Project Sponsored by Foster Granton” all looking spectacular!

Their old co-host Tamera Braxton-Herbert, who was let go from the show this season, also looked amazing in a neutral tone ball gown as well. She infamously announced days before the show her plans to join the ladies of the cast had they won.

We didn’t get to see that awkward moment (given how devastated Tamar looked in The Braxton Family values airing of her reaction to getting fired and her unfollowing any friend who guest appeared on the show since).

Aisha Tylers show The Talk won their category.  She was joined by our other Bumpwatch alum, Sara Gilbert on stage.

img_5114

Oh and Toni Braxton was there looking fab in black!

Her sis Tamar tried to help fluff her dress but ended up revealing a little extra leg and thigh action. Not that Toni is a stranger to the high slit dress.

Tamar’s dress from Steven Khalil‘s store was spectacular on its own.

We also spotted one of our OG (original) Bumpwatch mom’s Garcelle Beauvais.

Courtney Mazza accompanied her TV host hubby Mario Lopez as well.

Eco-Friday: Our Latest Organic Kids’ Clothing Crush; You’ll Love it Too!

organic-onesie

Every now and then, we come across a wonderful fair-trade, organic and natural baby, mother and children’s clothing and accessories company that makes us smile broadly. Our latest organic store crush is Wild Dill.

We love Wild Dill so much, we partnered up with it as an affiliate and decided to share the love with our readers.

While “wild dill” sounds like a plant herb, it actually is named for the son, Dylan, of Jennifer, the original owner of the San Francisco-bay area organic children’s clothing store.  In 2014, mom of two Tina Bar jumped at the opportunity to purchase the store when it came available for sale and took it online.

Today, Wild Dill partners with a large range of Fair Trade partners and craftspeople with an organizational mission.

Think indie designers, fair trade artisans and USA based-family businesses.

Wild Dill picks brands that integrate color, pattern and a global perspective; and those that select soft, comfortable fabrics with a focus on organic and pima cottons; handmade and heirloom quality toys made from top quality sustainable wood, soy fiber, bamboo fabric, and organic cotton or other natural materials.

You cannot get any more social conscious than that!

Whimsical and inspired, Wild Dill celebrates “curiosity of childhood, joy of motherhood and comfort of home.” Yes. Love!

Here are our top picks among the ample options available at Wild Dill starting with their Organic Animal Onesies  (above). We imagine they are great for teaching your infant his alphabet early in life by having her wear a letter with an animal whose name start with that letter. Or each onesie could represent the baby’s first or last name and be a monogram-ish item. Eh? eh? Can you see it?

The onesies are pre-shrunk and tagless, made of 100% organic soft baby ribbed unbleached natural cotton. They are are $26 each, a bit pricey for one onesie,  but for a personalized, heirloom quality item, that’s not bad. Also, the purchase supports social good. Portions of each sale goes toward the Tree Planting Foundation, a wonderful non-profit that brings fruit trees to a range of communities worldwide.

Super adorbs but I really love The Dsenyo collection of handmade dolls hand-stitched by a women’s cooperative in Malawi, Africa.

These fair trade stuffed animals are  made of 100% cotton African batik fabric (an Afrian wax-print textile) with soft jersey knit. They have no buttons so they are safe for kids and proceeds from the sales of these dolls that start at $44 go to Mwayiwathu HIV Support Group. Very very good!

another-adventure-handmade-leather-journal-wild-dill

For mom (or dad), I totally adore this handmade unlined journal made from recycled leather and handmade cotton paper is environmentally friendly and runs $38.

I love this Baby Animal Memory book which is eco-friendly and made with soy-based ink is also $38. It comes with 2 pre-baby pages for photos, ultrasound and note to baby; 3 pages for when baby arrives including a spot for footprints, a page to place birth announcement and hospital bracelet; 2 your world pages for a photo of home and how much things cost when baby was born; 12 pages of month documenting; 10 pages that include family tree, favorite things, many firsts including holidays, first scribble, etc.; 5 birthday pages; 1 first day of school page and 11 blank pages with embellishment

The set cost $44 and would make a great baby shower gift!mapamundi

For the nursery and for teaching your toddler to child-aged kid the world beyond the confines of his block, there’s this lovely completely machine-washable World Map Rug, made up of  100% natural cotton and non-toxic dyes. Sadly, it’s out of stock but runs $250 when it is available.

unspecified_63318b51-e5f1-4730-b8a7-60d4ac3058bf

Another finally, this last item we’d love for a child’s room is this beautiful print by artist Juliet Meeks, which is a magical sleepy narwhal swimming under a starry sky and moonlit night.  The item is on matte slightly textured 100% cotton acid-free paper and digitally printed with archival pigment inks. And runs $28. You can get one with a frame for $75. It would really stand out and stimulate baby.

That’s it! Hope you get a moment to check out their other offerings. You’ll be glad you did. And also, we love Wild Dill so much, we partnered up with it as an affiliate and decided to share the love with our readers so any purchase you make from our clicking one of these links from our site will net us a small share in the sale. Happy Shopping!

Where to Get Beyonce’s Date Night in Red Look (SPLURGE or SAVE)

bey-red

It didn’t take long for a photo of Beyonce ordering dinner at her April 19th date night with her husband to  become a meme and the source of humorous spoofs in social media. And now, Internet sleuths over at PEOPLE have figured out where you could get her look.

The red dress she wore in the red-themed  Polaroid framed set of pics she posted on social media is from Halston. It is their Heritage low V-neck, high slit dress  which features a flowy silhouette, cape-like sleeves and cost a mere $237. Not bad. The dress has spandex in it making it forgiving and body hugging.

Bey complemented-the look worn at the private celeb-studded intimate birthday celebration for  husband Jay Z‘s best friend and Roc Nation’s SVP Lenny Santiago at Beauty & Essex in Los Angeles with a pair of suede Prada platform sandals with a metallic leather-trim which will cost you a pretty penny but still isn’t out of reach at  $860.

Where you’re going to drop some serious  coins is on the black velour Saint Laurent flap front cross body bag with double tassels and cord fixed strap and trim she carried that cost $1,250. Too bad it’s sold out at Neiman’s

If you don’t have $2,500 to fork over for one date, we put together a similar look for under $70! BOOM! Look:

And peep the rest of the pics:

Trending this Spring: STRIPES!

ce94e1051c0ecc7926ce7f7559a1daf3

Listen, so stripes are BIG this Spring and ordinarily women are told to avoid stripes because horizontal ones are said to make one look wider. When there’s a baby on the way, growing a big belly is going to happen and you’d think that stripes would be a definite trend to skip this round, right?

Well, hold on there, fashionable mamas to be! There are several ways to integrate stripes in your Spring look. Naturally, accessories like scarves, jewelry, handbags and shoes are a way to do it. However, you can go with wider stripes or colored stripes in contrasting, non-complementary colors or with super thin pin-stripes. Definitely vertical stripes also can buck the widening illusion of traditional horizontal stripes.

We’ve curated a few styles to show you items you can use to achieve the look.
