7 Quirky Last Minute Amazon Father’s Day Gifts Under $20

Father’s Day is tomorrow and if you haven’t purchased a gift for dad, you’re in trouble!

No fret! There is still time to jot out and pick up something. I think the usual tie, socks, coffee mug and golf balls are played out and it’s time to start thinking outside of the box. Unique and personalized gifts stand out, like a personalized photo collage, a subscription box to Dollar Shave Club or something like that. A custom shirt is memorable.

We curated a list of fun novelty gifts that dad may enjoy that you can get from Amazon and maybe have delivered today or tomorrow!

1.For dad who is a dog lover, we really like these Fred Winer Dogs Dachshund Dog Drink Markers. They are great for breaking out when entertaining. To ease confusion over whose class is whose, these puppies (pun intended) hug each guests glass stem. They sell for only $16 for a set of 6.

2.For the dad who is more into moonshine or tequila shots, there’s these super cute mini shot glasses that resemble small mason jars! Hayley Cherie makes the glasses which come with their own tiny little lids and are great for crafts or party favors even. They are $11.99 for a set of 6 as well!

  1. If you insist on going the stereotypical route with the mug and golf clubs, why not combine them and get a mug that comes with its own tiny club and golf club.  Brink’s ceramic mug comes with its own stir stick to mix your coffee with, and it comes in the perfect shape to shoot a tiny hole in one. The set is $19.99

bean-bag

4. Desktop Cornhold Bean Bag Game looks like a fun distraction from the daily grind at work. Any dad would enjoy getting this as a gift and being able to pause during the day to toss the bean bag. The game is also under $20 at $13.98.

  1. Got an artsy dad who loves to doodle or has some artistic skills? If he also has a smartphone and wouldn’t mind showing off his talents, you can can get dad a phone case he paints. Kikkerland sells a silicon case for iPhones that comes with non-toxic colors and a paint brush. It sells for a mere $10.00 It also makes a version for Samsung Galaxy 6 owners.
  2. Like everyone, dad has a story in him too. If he is a writer or fancies himself a budding author, consider gifting dad this awesome book “642 Things to Write About“. The journal-like soft-cover book by The San Francisco Writers’ Grotto includes several prompts. The purpose is to get one comfortable with daily writing and to practice expressing oneself in prose. We love this $11.92 book that is also under $20!
  3. If dad is the type of dad who gets motivated by inspirational words, another book to consider is “Whatever You Are, Be a Good One.” The book features quotes from the minds of the likes of  Lewis Carroll, Marie Curie, Abraham Lincoln, Jane Austen to Beatrix Potter and great creative thinkers from every walk of life offering words of wisdom, heartfelt compassion and stirring calls to action. You can get a hardcover for just $8.99

Kylie Jenner joins Long List of Celebs Who Don’t Show Their Babies Faces Online; Here’s Why

I saw a few reports about how makeup mogul and reality TV star Kylie Jenner has selected to stop showing her daughter Stormi’s face on social media after a few mean trolls left nasty comments about the infant.

As Celebrity Baby Scoop reported, “fans noticed that Stormi’s face was hidden and one follower, in particular, noted that she had ‘cut her baby out’, Jenner replied, ‘Yeah I cut my baby out. I’m not sharing photos of my girl right now.'”

Reportedly, she was excited to share her baby with the world but has had to retreat amidst the mean trolls, and her beau and Stormi’s dad Travis Scott is doing the same, only showing her tiny Nikes in a recent Snap Story.

I cannot say I blame her. One of this blog’s most viewed post is about Aoki Lee, the brilliant daughter of Russell Simmons and our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum Kimora Lee Simmons, who avoids posting photos of her face on her own Instagram page, and how I believe it stems from nasty comments from the public about her looks.

The harsh critique from the public probably explains why Beyonce famously shielded her daughter Blue Ivy‘s face when she shared photos of her during her infancy to toddler years, and Kelly Rowland for the first year of her son’s life as well.

If you follow actress Zoe Saldana‘s social media, you will see that she was telling t to share a photo of her twin boys, Cy and Bowie and their baby brother either but has recently.

Over the pond, singer and TV presenter Rochelle Humes features many snaps of her daughters on Instagram but none of her face.

Another one of this blog’s bumpwatch alums Keisha Knight-Pulliam also refuses to show her daughter Ella Grace’s face on social media.

Then there are the other extremes who don’t show their children’s faces at all, like Kerry Washington, Eva Mendes, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively until recently.

The fans demand it, and many fuss about being denied the chance to gawk at their babies, as if it their right like these who commented under one of Knight-Pulliam’s pics.

And those who do share like Tia Mowry and Solange Knowles have found themselves having to snap back and put mean trolls in their place who called both their sons ugly, as recently as a few years ago.

These reactions prove why it is not a bad idea to keep something private.

How To Prevent 5 Common Summer Illnesses Your Child Might Catch

Summer is here, and that means more time in the great outdoors. It also means exposure to some different illnesses.

Here are some fairly common ones your kids might pick up this summer and what you can do to help ease symptoms and prevention tips. As with any illness, if symptoms persist or become severe, be sure to contact your pediatrician and keep track of any changes with your Kinsa smart thermometer, the world’s first thermometer with the ability to track temperatures and medications and also offer medical guidance on what to do if a fever is detected.

1 Coxsackie

A form of enterovirus, Coxsackie often leads to Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease – a nasty virus that often occurs in kids under 5.

Signs of Hand, Foot and Mouth:

  • ·        Fever
  • ·        Low appetite
  • ·        Sore throat
  • ·        Sores in mouth, developing 1-2 days after fever starts
  • ·        Skin rash with red spots on palms of hands and soles of feet
  • ·        May also develop a rash on knees, elbows, buttocks and genital area

What to do:

  • ·        There’s no treatment for the disease – it will need to run its course
  • ·        Keep kids hydrated, even if it’s difficult to swallow
  • ·        Consider over the counter pain relievers (not Aspirin)
  • ·        Certain mouthwashes may numb mouth pain

Prevention:

  • ·        The illness is transmitted from one infected person to another via bodily fluids or via contaminated water
  • ·        Be sure to wash hands often and clean frequently touched surfaces
  • ·        Avoid contact with anyone infected with the virus

2. Croup

Croup is an infection of the upper airway, which leads to inflammation of the airway and obstructed breathing.

Signs of Croup:

  • ·        Mucous in the airway
  • ·        Noisy breathing and a hoarse, barking cough
  • ·        Usually starts with cold symptoms

What to do:

  • ·        Breathing moist air may offer comfort to your child
  • ·        Give children over 6 months ibuprofen or acetaminophen for comfort
  • ·        Make sure they drink plenty of fluids
  • ·        Monitor their breathing, especially at night

Prevention:

  • ·        Croup is transmitted through a virus that can be spread from an infected person to another
  • ·        Most cases clear up on their own, but it’s a good idea to keep an infected child away from healthy children to prevent spreading

3. Lyme Disease

Lyme Disease is a bacterial infection transmitted by ticks.

Signs of Lyme Disease (often flu-like):

  • ·        Fever
  • ·        Headache
  • ·        Fatigue
  • ·        Skin rash
  • ·        Muscle and joint aches
  • ·        Chills
  • ·        Untreated infections can spread to the joints, heart and nervous system

What to do:

  • ·        Lyme Disease found early can be easily treated with antibiotics
  • ·        If you suspect your child has been bitten by a tick, keep a close eye on them
  • ·        Get your child checked early if there’s any chance of Lyme Disease

 Prevention:

  • ·        Lyme Disease is spread through insect bites, mainly via infected ticks
  • ·        Use insect repellent when in the woods or grass
  • ·        Search your children for ticks after they’ve been outside, and remove any promptly

4. Whooping Cough (Pertussis)

Whooping Cough, also known as Pertussis, is a highly contagious respiratory disease and is commonly spread at summer camp.

Signs of Whooping Cough:

  • ·        Starts with a cold-like cough, runny nose and fever
  • ·        Babies may develop apnea – a pause in breathing
  • ·        Violent coughing, often uncontrollable, followed by a deep inhale that makes a “whooping” sound
  • ·        Vomiting
  • ·        Exhaustion

What to do:

  • ·        It can be treated with prescribed antibiotics
  • ·        If suspected, take your child to the doctor immediately
  • ·        DO NOT give your child cough medicine
  • ·        Make sure your child is drinking fluids and eating, especially if vomiting occurs

Prevention:

  • ·        There is a vaccine for Whooping Cough
  • ·        It can be transmitted from one infected person to another

5.  Norovirus

The Norovirus is a very contagious virus that causes gastroenteritis, or the stomach bug. It’s often foodborne and causes your stomach and intestines to become inflamed.

 Signs of Norovirus:

  • ·        Diarrhea
  • ·        Nausea/vomiting
  • ·        Stomach pain
  • ·        Fever
  • ·        Head and body aches

What to do:

  • ·        Ensure your child is properly hydrated
  • ·        There’s no specific treatment; the virus will have to run its course

Prevention:

  • ·        Wash hands regularly and ensure food is properly cooked and washed
  • ·        Avoid being around someone who is infected with Norovirus

Report: Cardi B is Going to Give Birth Within the Next Month

Cardi B is just weeks away from giving birth to her first child, a baby girl, according to her request to move a deposition of her from July 27.

According to TMZ, the 25-year-old said in legal documents that she is “in her final month of pregnancy and about to give birth,” and needs to push back the deposition date as a result.

Litigant Kevin Brophy is suing the artist and her managers for $5 million, claiming he never agreed to be featured on  Cardi’s album cover.

The cover features a man with very distinct back tattoos performing oral sex. Brophy claims one of the man’s tattoos, a tiger battling a snake, is identical to one that he has had for 10 years.

Brophy says the image is of him and that he was only made aware of it when a friend texted him.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, Brophy said he has never met or spoken to Cardi.

The deposition was scheduled so Cardi could be questioned about a lawsuit that was filed against her by a main claiming she copied his back tattoo and used it for the album cover of her 2016 mixtape Gangsta B— Music Vol. I.

10 Kardashian Moms Weight Loss Tricks & Hacks

Now that four out of the five original Kardashian-Jenner women are moms and all super svelte and trim post baby delivery, we thought we would take a look at all the various weight loss gimmicks, tricks and hacks the ladies have shared on their social to their fans and followers.

Then I discovered that Cosmo already went thru and found about 13 of them

1. Flat Tummy Lollipops

On Instagram, Kim Kardashian-West  posted the #ad above promoting Flat Tummy Co’s appetite-suppressing lollipops, calling them “literally unreal.” (She later deleted it.) The manufacturer’s website claims these candies contain an active ingredient called Satiereal, “a clinically proven safe active ingredient extracted from natural plants.” Eating one to two pops per day in response to hunger is supposed to promote satiety to help control food intake, cravings, and weight, and help hold you over until your next meal, all according to the website.

2. Exercise in a Sauna suit

Khloé Kardashian says wearing this secret weapon(essentially a trash bag that contains body heat during workouts) makes her sweat two to three times as much. “I like wearing the sauna suit during cardio, but you burn more calories and break a sweat faster even if you’re lifting weights,” she wrote on her app. She also says she drinks two or three times as much to prevent dehydration.

3. Cut out dairy

Khloé has said she lost 11 pounds in a month and a half by eliminating dairy from her diet and replacing foods like cheese, milk, pizza, and ice cream with dairy-free items.

4. Give up Gluten

Khloé’s nutritionist cut gluten out of her diet — and Kourtney recently put herself and her kids on a gluten-free diet too, bringing dairy-free, gluten-free cookies to her brother Rob’s birthday party for her kids to eat instead of birthday cake.

5. Wear a Waist Trainer

Khloé has endorsed Fit Tea Wraps (in sponsored posts, FWIW). Essentially, they’re a sheet mask soaked in a special gel made with ingredients like green tea, cocoa extra, and a bunch of other stuff that’s difficult to pronounce. You apply it to an area like your stomach, wrap it in cellophane to soak in, and rub the excess gel into the skin to minimize the appearance of cellulite for a firmer, toned look.

Other tricks include

6. Drinking Ghee in the Morning

7. Cutting Out Carbs

8. Wear Tea Wraps

9. Eat Chia Seeds as an Appetite Suppressant

10. Take a Probiotic Pill after Working Out

3 Things To Do To Be More Actively Involved Next School Year

We are at the end of another school year and I’m sure there are things you wish you would have done differently as it relates to coordinating with your child’s school.

If you are a parent then you will know how important it is for you to make sure that your child is happy at school. You will also know how important it is for you to make sure that they are doing well and that they are meeting all of their grades as well. If you are not sure if your child is happy at school or not, then there are a couple of things that you can do to try and find out more. Here are three ways to have an even better school year next year.

Volunteer

One way that you can find out if your child is happy at school or not is to volunteer. You can also get them to attend school events with you so you can find out if they are motivated or not. If your child is not interested in attending extra classes, school events or anything else of the sort then this may be a clear sign that they are not happy and this is something that you will want to watch out for. If you know that your child is struggling with school then it may be worth getting them to talk to someone who has an online masters in school counseling as this can really help you get to the root of the problem.

Ask Questions

If you ask your child how their day was then there is a high chance that they will shrug off your question with the same old answer. If you want to avoid this then one thing that you can do is try and ask them questions that require more of an answer, such as what made them laugh today or if they liked their lunch. You can also ask them what they would like to have in their lunch for the next day and even if there is anything that you can do to make their day better. This will provide you with the valuable insight you need to really make a difference to the way that they feel

Talk to Their Teacher

If you are finding it hard to get an answer out of your child then you can spend some time with

their teacher. A teacher will spend five days out of the week with your child so they will probably notice things more than you will. If your teacher hasn’t noticed anything about your child or if they think that they are happy then it’s important that you listen to them and that you take into account everything that they have to say. This will really help to put your mind at ease and it will also help you to know if you can support them in any other way as well.

Of course, if you are concerned about your child then there are things that you can do to try and give them the support that they need, and by working with them and their teachers, you can be sure to stay on top of any problems that may arise. Being a parent isn’t easy, but if you put the work in then your kids will always know that you are there for them.

Shahs of Sunset Alum Lilly Ghalichi Was Shamed For Being Too Pretty While Pregnancy

We’ve heard of expectant celebrities being shamed for exercising while preggers, being too thin and more, but recently lawyer, entrepreneur and Bravo TV‘s Shahs of Sunset alum Lilly Ghalichi  was recently shamed for being too cute while pregnant and making pregnancy look too “pretty.”

Ghalichi addressed the person who suggested that she was glamorizing pregnancy for young girls.

“Someone left a comment saying “Stop trying to make pregnancy look cute, it sends a bad image to girls”  Ghalichi captioned yet another adorable photo shoot of her glowing and looking healthy and great. “❣Pregnancy is very hard no doubt, but is the most beautiful thing I have ever experienced. I’m posting MY pregnancy, maybe yours wasn’t cute to you, mine is beautiful to me. ✨I’m also 35 and married, hopefully sending a message that it’s ok to wait until you’re ready to bring life into the World and start a family. #GhalichiGlam’

Her fans jumped in quickly to back her up.

“Nooooooo! Stuff like 16 and pregnant makes young girls think pregnancy is cool. How could a 35 year old pregnant woman send off that kind of vibe? That poster must’ve smoked something before they said that! Just stupid!” one fan wrote.

We agree with the fan that said,”Pregnancy is so so much beautiful! The thought of bringing a beautiful soul to the world makes it more awesome.?”

Keep on doing you, ma!

The eyelash extensions business entrepreneur and bikini line owner and her husband since 2017, Dara Mir announced the news in March.
