Whether you’re expecting, just had a baby or finally thinking of getting in shape, you don’t have to worry about not having the time or money for the gym. There are many low to no costs exercises you can do at home to get into better shape. Some exercises you can do while watching TV or multitasking like going over drills with your kid for homework or to prep for a test.
Everyday Health came up with 8 exercises you can do at home to get fit, here are three of my faves:
Create Your Own dumbbells
Strength training is an important part of anyone’s fitness routine. Ideally, you should work all your major muscle groups at least two days per week. If you don’t have any dumbbells or traditional weights on hand, use plastic bottles or jugs filled with sand or water for an easy workout. Experiment with the size and fullness of the bottles until you find a weight that’s right for you.
Climb Stairs
Climb Stairs
According to the New York Times, running up steps might be the single best exercise of all. So channel your inner Rocky and use stairs in nearby buildings, stadiums, or in your own home for an easy workout. Climbing stairs causes you to lift your body weight, so you’ll strengthen your legs and hips and get cardio exercise at the same time. To get started with this at-home exercise, climb up a flight of stairs and then back down, going a little faster on the way down to keep up intensity. Build up to 10 minutes of nonstop stair-climbing.
Use Resistance Bands
Resistance bands, which look like long, wide rubber bands or cords, are inexpensive, portable, and a great way to add strengthening practice to your home workout. You can use them for chest presses, arm curls, squats, and many other moves, and they come in different tensions. To purchase resistance bands, check your local sporting-goods store or online fitness supply sites.

Watching the red carpet to the 67th Annual Primtime EmmyAwards at Microsoft Theater tonight, I must say I was really loving all the creative and different silhouettes, daring cutouts and experiments with texture on the styles of clothing.
Early photos I saw revealed a lot of prom and pageant-like dresses, and very full skirts and structured boring looks we’ve seen before on the Miss Universe stage, but then when I began to dig deep into the photo galleries and I was wowed by Amy Poehler‘s midriff revealing black Michael Kors Collection dress with spaghetti halter straps. Grrrrr!
And January Jones‘ emerald Ulyana Sergeenko jumpsuit with a starfish brooch at the hip was to die for!
Kerry Washington did not disappoint this time in a silver metallic Marc Jacobs with futuristic cap shoulders, Casadei pumps and Harry Winston jewels. Love Love!
Mad Men‘s Jessica Pare brought out the color in her pink Monse halter dress, accented with Fred Leighton jewels and Christian Louboutin heels.
Many were nominated and several took home awards like Julia Louis-Dreyfus who won again for the 4th straight year in a row as the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in Veep.
And Congratulations to Viola Davis for her historic win as the first African American woman to win an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama for her role in How to Get Away With Murder tonight. Bravo! She rocked this stage in a righteous twist-out fro complemented nicely in a white with black print Carmen Marc Valvo gown, Stuart Weitzman shoes, and Neil Lane jewels.
Congrats also to Regina King who played a protective Muslim mother in the mini-series drama American Crime and for her role on that version of the series nabbed the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series of Movie!
She took her son Ian to the ceremony and acknowledged him in her speech for a win she really didn’t expect, as she explained to ET!

These were big wins given the fact that historically in the US, there are not that many roles written and cast for black women to play so they can outshine their contemporaries at the time and earn wins.

King looked nice though the color and frame of the dress was underwhelming for her powerful and strong body. The back was banging tho. Owww!
Maggie Gyllenhaal did the ball gown thing in Oscar de la Renta with Fred Leighton jewels. I don’t have enough words for Heidi Klum‘s dress and I found the fit of Claire Danes‘ Prada dress a bit off for her tonight.
Veep‘s Anna Chlumsky brought some glam in Bibhu Mohapatra and Chopard jewels and Sofia Vergara did the usual old Hollywood glam vixen figure-hugging fishtail look. Seen it before. It’s her signature and works for her I guess but she really should change things up.

Kill Bill actress Uma Thurman and her ex-fiancé, financier Arpad Busson, finally settled their explosive, high-profile custody dispute over their 3-year old daughter Luna.
Page Six reports the two reached a settlement in a New York court on Thursday.
The gossip section to the New York Post reported that Thurman blew kisses at reporters assembling at the courthouse.
Recall, last month, she got lots of press for yelling at the press for covering the custody case.
“Everybody compromised a bit,” Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Matthew Cooper said about the settlement. “I think it was all done to make one person happy and that one person is Luna.”
Thurman gave a thumbs up to reporters as she left the courthouse, signaling that the yet-to-be-revealed terms were agreeable to her.
Busson sued her in 2014 to get more time to see his daughter.
Thurman has two other children with ex hubby Ethan Hawke: 17-year old daughter Maya, 17, and 13-year old son Levon.
Busson has two sons with ex-girlfriend, supermodel Elle Macpherson: 17-year old Flynn, 17, and 12-year old Cy.
It was 1898 when the last baby girl was born in the May family of Ireland and after 117 years of waiting, the fam finally got its first female child.
Saoirse Grace May was born last Thursday to Laurence and Leanne May.
Only male babies were born to the May family from Ballinrobe, Mayo, for more than a century.
But that all changed when Saoirse Grace May arrived last week to proud parents Laurence and Leanne May.
“It’s terrific because we’ve gone so long without a girl in the family,” proud dad Laurence said. “There’s great excitement, everyone was delighted. We had great celebrations. We didn’t know it was going to be a girl, it was a surprise.”
He said he checked the family history records and was shocked to learn it had been so long since a girl was born.
“I checked the census records from 1901 and the last girl to be born in the family was 1898 when my grand aunt Anne was born”, reported the Daily Mirror.
Anne would have been Saoirse’s great-grand aunt.
“I’m an only child and my father is an only child so I don’t have any nieces or nephews.”
Little Saoirse was born at University Hospital Galway and Laurence said he hoped it heralded a new age for the May family and joked: “It could be all girls from here on in — you never know”

After over a year, Bellyitch Blog is shutting down its parenting blog offspring Bellyitch Parent.
We launched the website in June 2014 as a spin-off of this site in consideration for those who just wanted parenting advice, tips, news and information without having to filter through the celebrity pregnancy, fashion and other fun, yet fluffy, content we share on the blog.
But alas, the blog has been illegally syndicated by other sites (most infamously, by whomever owns Pregnatips -http://pregnatstips.blogspot.com/) and as such, we have been incurring search penalties with so much duplicate content out in the blogsphere.
We’ve tried numerous times to get Google to shut down this entire Pregnatips website which has over 100 of our articles illegally duplicated on its site with an invitation to others to copy and share so long as they link back to it. So it not only steals our content, it also gives it away to others who may be unaware that the content is stolen.
Google will only shut down one article at a time and we are struggling to get the entire site taken down for its blatant, flagrant and consistent copyright violation of our original content. It is in clear violation of Google’s Terms of Service for being a repeat infringer, yet no such luck in getting it yanked.
It has ads on the site and thus is making money for itself and Google, which hosts it as it is a Blogspot/Blogger blog and Google owns that platform. The owner is unknown though if Google sends her/him AdSense payments, it should be aware who this content thief is.
As such, we have no other alternative than to do what we have control over and at least eliminate one source of duplicate content which is the posts and articles that used to appear in BellyitchParent.com
We hope those of you who frequented and visited the site saw value in it.

An Irish airline refused to permit actress Fiona O’Connell to fly this week because she is 36 weeks pregnant with her and husband producer Martin Delany’s fourth child.
O’Connell claims to have cleared he rights to travel with her doctor and says she contacted Aer Lingus in advance to confirm that she would be able to fly. She pointed out the fact that she flew to Glasgow from Dublin on the airline days before.
However, when she arrived for the return flight, the airline staff told her while passengers between 32 and 35 weeks pregnant can ly with a doctor’s note, for liability reasons, it doesn’t allow those who are term and over 36 weeks gestation.
“It was the captain in the end who ultimately called it,” she told
By that time, a woman can go into labor anytime which could put the baby, the pregnant woman and other passengers at risk if such an emergency situation were to happen mid-flight.
Fiona paid for a taxi and new flight.
No one is exempt. Not even off springs of famous people. The initial flight must have been a glitch or some star struck airline worker may have let her pass notwithstanding the rules.
