Celebs dress up for red carpets, premieres, and Tv appearances and on weekends, while running errands and traveling, they get to dress down.
But because they’re always being photographed, they don’t have the luxury of looking bad even on their days off.
Case in point: Chrissy Teigen, Gisele Bundchen and Halle Berry always look fab.
This week is no different.
Teigen was chic in denim, wearing an Alexander Wang jacket and distressed cuffed Re/done jeans with a cute yellow Gucci t-shirt and matching monogram belt. The model accented her look with a cute pair of Saint Laurent shades, a Hermes purse, suede Balenciaga booties and Gold XIVKARATS hoops.
Gisele Bundchen rocked it in a rugged grey sweat shirt paired with cropped green Rosa Chá, Chanel shades, a Givenchy travel bag and a funky pair of black high tops by Golden Goose
Berry looked fashionable in a long black and white leopard print Dolce and Gabbana over distressed grey denim jeans, black leather booties and a black blouse.
Each year for Halloween, certain celebrity families go all out and dress in very extravagant costumes. This time of year is all about fun, portraying fun characters and showing out at costume parties and while trick or treating.
Here are out faves:
Alicia Keys and hubby Swizz Beatz with 7-yr old son Egypt and 2-year old son Genesis rocked it out with very creative costumes.
“Happy Hallowdean!!! Fun times!! Show us what you’re doing!! Makeup by my beautiful and super talented sis the magnificent @ekaysha,” the Fallin‘ hitmaker, 36, captioned the image in their boo-tiful outfits.
Carrie Underwood and her husband Mike Fisher were adorbs!
“The only deer I am OK with @mfisher1212 ‘catching!'” the country singer captioned the couples shot. “@catchindeers #HelpMe #happyhalloween #veganwifeproblems”
Khloe Kardashian went as the Queen of the Dragons while Tristan Thompson also dressed in a Game of Thrones themed outfit.
Wizard of Oz while Penelope Disickdressed up as Dorothy in her classic gingham frock.
Neil Patrick Harris, David Burtka, and their kids, twins Gideon and Harper win Halloween every year and this year was no different in their amazing Carnival American Horror Story Themed costumes.
Kendra Wilkinson-Baskett and Hank Baskett and fam looked cute.
Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel were tops in our book.
“If you see us in these streets then have your candy ready! Trick-Or-Treat, little homies!” the pop star wrote on social media, signing the note “Woody, Jesse, and Buzz.”
Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady as a yummy toast and avocado sandwich.
We’ve discussed this before, how celebrity women over 40 who have babies but do not disclose their fertility journey contribute to a common misconception among older average women. A lot who want to start a family but have been putting it off because of their career, not yet ready or not in a committed monogamous relationship or marriage see these older celebs popping out kids and assume it will be easy for them too.
A new piece in the Sun laments on how celebs that have children later in life to get pregnant are fueling misconceptions about the chances of becoming pregnant later in life.
The piece points out recent work by researchers at New York University who found that more than half of celebrity pregnancies and births mentioned in the likes of Cosmopolitan, People Magazine and US Weekly were over the age of 35.
The findings were presented at the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) congress in Texas.
ASRM president Dr Richard Paulson said: “A reluctance to show challenges is misinformation and can affect decisions.”
While Mariah Carey, Nicole Kidman and others have been quite open, some like Janet Jackson and Halle Berry who had pregnancies in their very late 40s have not.
“The likelihood of a healthy live birth without fertility treatments at age 50 is less than one in a million,” Eve Feinberg writes. “There are limits, however, to what technology can accomplish. IVF cannot completely overcome age related infertility. To date, the oldest woman to be successful with IVF using her own current eggs is 46 years old. Women who conceive with IVF beyond age 46 are either using their own eggs that were frozen at a younger age or, more likely, donor eggs.
Donor eggs are a game changer: the success is tied to the age of the age of the woman donating the egg, not the age of the woman who receives the egg. The average woman donating eggs is under 30 and national success rates are upwards of 50 percent per attempt.”
The research blames the media that reports on pregnancies of older celeb moms for not balancing their coverage with information about fertility.
Present company excluded, of course, right? (smile)
We have a running tally of over 40 celebs who gave birth over 40, but this blog frequently posts articles, news pieces and opinion features warning about the dangers of relying on celebrities to guide your family planning decisions and choices and about the challenges of getting pregnant starting in the 30s.

This Mother’s Day as with all, a lot of the celebrity moms that we’ve featured on the blog in the past shared photos of their moms and themselves with their kids. We loved our partners at PopSugar‘s roundup and plucked our fave moms from their slideshow of celebrity Mother’s Day photos.
I’ll add some more including some of the sisters we’ve showcased in the past.
About 4 years ago, we blogged about how tons of celebrities welcome babies with men they ar not married to and how they, unlike most women, are not shamed for it.
Several, like Heidi Klum and Kelis break up before the baby is even born. The mention is not to bash different lifestyle choices or situations but just to point out the prevalence of premarital pregnancy in Hollywood.
Of the several dozens women Bellyitch has “bumpwatched” since its inception in 2007, the lion’s share or bulk of them were technically single (though possibly attached or engaged) while pregnant.
Also, to a certain extent, these blessings, each of them, are celebrated and cheered. Meanwhile, average non-celebrity women who have children out-of-wedlock are traditionally trashed, bashed and shamed, by society.
It’s a double standard, no doubt. But alas, these are changing times and traditional notions and norms are altering too.
Here is a list of 40 celebrity women ( from our old post in 2013, there have been many more since then) who got pregnant before going down the aisle, including some that didn’t even want a ring, and some that are still happily single (in no particular order):
1. Kim Kardashian 2. Salma Hayek 3. KimZolciak 4. Amber Rose 5. Victoria Beckham 6. Kelis 7. Emma Bunton 8. Halle Berry 9. Natalie Portman 10. Jennifer Hudson 11. Snooki 12. Lauryn Hill 13. Kristin Cavallari 14. Melanie Brown 15. Heidi Klum 16. Fantasia Barrino 17. Isla Fisher 18. Nia Long 19. Drew Barrymore 20. Yandy Smith 21. Kate Hudson 22. Jill Scott 23. Britney Spears 24. Nicole Richie 25. Kate Winslet 26. Alicia Keys 27. Jessica Simpson 28. Keyshia Cole 29. Michelle Williams 30. Lauren London 31. January Jones 32. Miranda Kerr 33. Kourtney Kardashian 34. Nivea 35. Jamie Lyn Spears 36. Adele 37. Angelina Jolie 38. Kristen Bell 39. Christina Applegate 40. Jane Krakowski
When Janet Jackson welcomed her son Essia this past Tuesday, January 3rd, she did not become the celebrity to have given birth at the oldest age. Jackson welcomed her newborn with husband Wissam Al Mana , an entire 4 months and 13 days before her 51st birthday which will be on May 16.
Singer Sophie B. Hawkins, best known for her hit “Damn, I Wish I Was Your Lover,” gave birth to her second child, daughter Esther Ballantine Hawkins, on July 7, 2015. She only had 3 months and 25 days to go before she turned 51 on November 1. In other words, Janet was 50 and 8 months old and Hawkins was 50 years and 9 months old when they each gave birth.
But who’s counting!?
Other celebrity women to give birth close to age 50 include Beverly D’Angelo who welcomed twins Anton and Olivia Pacino with Al Pacino at age 49. Actress Laura Linney was also 49 when she welcomed her son Bennett Armistead with Marc Schauer in January 2014.
After losing their 16-year-old son Jet in 2009, John Travolta and wife Kelly Preston tried for a third child. They were successful even though Preston would be 48 years old when they welcomed a baby boy, Benjamin, in November 2010. Geena Davis was also 48 when she too gave birth to twins, sons Kian William and Kaiis Steven, in May 2004. She had her daughter Alizeh Keshvar at age 46.
Finally, Halle Berry said she was not expecting to get pregnant again when she got pregnant with her son Maceo with then-husband Olivier Martinez. She welcomed him in October 2013 when she was 47-years old.
In year’s past, we’ve recognized the celebrities that we followed most and we’ve even awarded superlatives. This year, while reviewing a year’s worth of posts, we are prepared to award the Bellyitch Bumpwatch Celebrity Mom-to-Be of the Year.
Why do they deserve special recognition over the 20 and 30-something millennial celebrities who also gave birth in 2016, you ask?
As women age, it becomes even more challenging to conceive without medical intervention and to carry a baby to term. Therefore, when it happens, there is even more reason to celebrate given the odds and hurdles that must be overcome to achieve success.
Gestational carrier, surrogacy, adoption and other medical methods like IVF and donor egg have made it possible for some. A few have been successful without medical assistance. Either way, our hats off to those who balanced career and family and still had the time, ability and inclination to want to welcome a new addition in 2016.
You guys are the real MVP!
And more veteran moms over 40 have been keeping up and showing out the younger ones by showing off super fit bods. Fergie, Gwen Stefani, Kelly Ripa, Mel B. and Halle Berryshared photos of themselves in social media with super toned and ripped physiques.
Granted, we know celebrity women have access to personal chefs, trainers and a team of assistants to help them out with their children so they can hit the gym regularly and often. Also, they work in an industry where it is essential for them to have their bodies snatched back into fit and trim shape, but it still takes harder work and more dedication to stay fit when your metabolism slows and it gets harder to shed pounds and keep it off.

I’ve been keeping a file of my favorite Halloween costumes I’ve encountered while online this past weekend and today. I will post them there here periodically and credit where and if I can because you know viral images are sometimes hard to trace back to the originator.
Anyway, enjoy!

I know celebrity women have access to personal chefs, trainers and a team of assistants to help them out with their children so they can hit the gym regularly and often.
Also, they work in an industry where it is essential for them to have their bodies snatched back into fit and trim shape, but I’d still like to shout out those who are over 40 and are ripped to the core including our Bellyitch Bumpwatch babes Fergie, Gwen Stefani, Kelly Ripa, Mel B. and Halle Berry, who all recently posted photos of themselves in bikinis looking Ah-May-Zing!
