The Celeb-Inspired Fall Boots You Need To Get Now!

Cute shoes are a must, and this fall is all about the stylish boot. Scrunched ankle boots or sexy knee high, being pregnant is no time to forget about stylish footwear.

Celebrities manage to look effortlessly stylish even while knocked up and certainly while rocking cut fall boots

However, when shopping for a new pair of boots think about what your feet really need during pregnancy.  Still, you don’t have to cut out style for function, altogether. Mix it up and be creative.

Think Style and function.

  • Pregnancy can wreak havoc on your feet. They will swell, they will hurt, they may even sweat a little more thanks to hormone changes. All of this means that you cannot grab just any boot off the shelf. There are some important things you have to look for first.
  • Look for stretchability. If your feet have not start swelling yet, they will soon. And if they are already swollen, they can always get worse. While you want boots that fit comfortable and will not trip you up, consider how much wider your feet could get over the rest of the pregnancy. Look for boots that are a little wider, softer, and can stretch to accommodate your swelling feet.

Go with flats whenever possible. Heels add more pressure and stress to our legs, which can be extra painful when you are already carrying extra weight on them. Choose flat boots over the heels if you can. If heels are a must for you, look at shorter wider heels that will not put as much strain on your legs.
  • Make sure that your boots have good arch support. This is very important when pregnant, as your feet are subject to more stress than usual. If you have trouble finding good boots with enough arch support, you can always buy add-ins that go inside of your shoes and boots.
  • Choose breathable, natural fabrics for boots. Leathers and other natural materials are great for helping your feet breath and not trapping moisture against your feet. This can be especially good if pregnancy hormones are making your feet sweat somewhat more than usual. Natural fabrics will help wick moisture away and prevent smells from forming.

UGG makes the perfect boots for pregnancy. The new styles add that sense of flair without sacrificing on comfort. You can find a variety of styles that can be found at Zappos, that your feet will be sure to thank you for wearing.

A pair of great boots can add sizzle to your maternity wardrobe. Before you buy that pair of boots, make sure they will not work against you during the rest of your pregnancy.

Queens Are Born in September {My Birthday Wish List}

More people are born in September than any other month. One of those people is ME!

Today is my birthday! I put together my wish list and am publishing it here for anyone who wants to gift me something for this big day! (wink)

I’ve seen this very fun dark grey message shirt on Instagram, “Queens are Born in September” and it’s perfect. I found it on Etsy! This “Queens are Born in September” tee is 100% preshrunk cotton and I love that it comes in a v-neck because that makes it even more feminine. ($20)

I, like a lot of people, am naturally attracted to the neckline so I have always wanted to have a signature necklace I could wear everyday. A birthstone necklace is in order.

If I could get the world, I’d love this 14K White Gold Diamond and Oval Sapphire Trio Accent pendant ($425) but I’d totally settle for this much cheaper  cute Birthstone Necklace by LA Mini Jewelry Ultimate Karma Eternity Necklace ($43.20)

To match, I am digging AroshaTaglia‘s sterling silver CORAL Blue Saphhire ring ($215).

For the earth girl in me, Luxezen’s Raw blue sapphire gemstone stud earrings  ($58.75) are gorgeous and a marvelous fit! These earrings are made of unique raw stone nuggets hand paired for size, cut and color and set in gold filled, rose gold filled, or sterling silver ear posts.

Because I am a big fan of message tees, I am crushing on Bougie Girl Shop‘s I Am A September Woman shirt which also reads, “I Am Stronger Than You Believe, Braver Than You Know, Smarter Than You Think”($20) which is a very timely and relevant message for me right now in my life.

I need a nice bag to schlep all my stuff in and only Burberry‘s Nova Check  Canvas Tote ($297) will do! It is spacious and a signature piece!

I’m older and blinder today and need to upgrade my eyeglasses with my new prescriptions. A pair of Gucci 51MM Optical Glasses ($119) will do just fine!

Because I plan to start recording a series of video snippets, I need make up because an on-call Make Up Artist is not in the budget right now. I’ll take MAC Complete make up kit ($55)to hold me over until the big bucks come flowing in.

Finally, my last laptop died. I know Apple Mac Books are best but I’m still a Microsoft girl so Inspiron 14 3000 laptop will be a great replacement($229)

Your DIY Baby Food Making Guide + 12 Books To Help You Get Started

There have been a few baby food recalls in recent weeks that have prompted some new moms to consider making their own baby food from scratch for their little ones.

The idea of blending, pureeing, storing, thawing and making batches of baby food or toddler pouches can seem daunting, and time-consuming, but fortunately, in recent years, technology in the form of baby food blenders and scores of new books have cropped up to demystify and simplify the process.

Blender

To start, you may want to go out and get a blender with a puree function on it. I like the Magic Bullet for making smoothies and milkshakes for my little ones because it is easiest to clean. The company that makes it also sells a special version just for baby food making called Magic Bullet Baby Bullet Baby Care System which retails for $59.99 on Amazon but is sold in retail stores like Target, Walmart and the like.

Storage

Next, you’ll have to invest in tiny containers to store the foods you make. The Baby Bullet comes with its own containers and lids but you can also order storage containers. Sage Spoonfuls Big Batch Storage Set includes twelve 4 Ounce containers for about $20, enough for vegetable, desserts and other purees. They are freezer, dishwasher and microwave safe and durable portable jars with leak proof and easy to use screw on lids.

Colin Kaepernick Nick ‘Just Do It’ Campaign: Celebs, Customers Pick Sides

Are you boycotting Nike for selecting former quarterback Colin Kaepernick as its spokesperson for the 30th anniversary of its “Just Do It” campaign?

If so, I’d like to suggest instead of throwing away your Nike products or burning them as some of his detractors and Donald  J Trump supporters have done online, that you consider donating them to homeless Military vets! Here are organizations you can donate to:

Kaepernick, a former San Francisco 49er has not played in the NFL since 2016, the year he began to take a knee during the National Anthem as a silent protest against police brutality. Dozens of other players followed his lead, which led to heavy criticism of the NFL and many angry fans boycotting the sport entirely. Due to this controversy, Nike, which signed Kaepernick in 2011, held off in using him for ad campaigns. However, Nike kept him on their roster even after Kaepernick became a free agent in 2017.

Several celebs including our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums Chelsea Peretti and his fellow brand spokesperson Serena Williams shared their support online.

On Friday night, Kaepernick and his former 49ers teammate Eric Reid, a Pro Bowl safety who joined in the protests and also now out of the league, were each given huge ovations when they were introduced and shown on the big screen during a match between Serena and Venus Williams at the U.S. Open.

If you are team Kaep and plan to purchase Nikes in support of this campaign and to counter the 3 percentage point dip in stock price the company has suffered because of this announcement, I curated a few pieces from my partners at Shopstyle for you to pick from:

Remy Ma is Coasting Into Her Final Trimester Still Fly!

VH1s  Love and Hip Hop star and Rapper Remy Ma (real name Reminisce Smith) is about 6 months along in her first pregnancy with husband Shamele “Papoose” Mackie.

However, the pretty cocoa-complexioned vixen and business woman has not yet “popped”, if you will, and is sporting still a pretty chic and sveltish figure in her cute collection of clothing.

Judging from the pics the Dark and Lovely spokeswoman and brand ambassador has posted on her social media pages, you can barely tell that she and her hubby of  10 years will be welcoming their first child by year’s end.

They suffered a very much public miscarriage and since she became pregnant, Papoose has had a hard time containing his excitement about becoming a parent.

The couple announce the baby news to guests attending their garden vow renewal ceremony earlier this year.

Remy Ma already has a 17-year old son Jace from a previous relationship and  Papoose has a daughter 13-year old Dejanae Mackie.

Nicole Richie Dishes On Her Tween Kids’ Personal Style

nicole richie joel madden and family

One of my very first Bellyitch Bumpwatch celeb moms Nicole Richie recently dished on her kids fashion aesthetic. Yes as tweens, kids have their own sense of style.

During an interview with E!, the “House of Harlow” designer and founder said about her kids having their own style identity, “my daughter is almost 11 and my son is 9 so they’re not trying to ask me to do anything.”

She expanded: “Sparrow dresses like [his dad and Richie’s husband] Joel [Madden] to not even think about it” but daughter Harlow dresses “feminine. She likes dresses…she goes into my closet.”

Cool! Watch the clip of the interview below:

If you cannot afford the House of Harlow collection, I’m shamelessly plugging out partners at Gymboree!

Get Your Back To School Organization Life On With These Tips

home organization and declutter tips

It’s the start of a new school year in my home and I’m determined to make sure we have a smooth, clutter-free and positive school year.

As an avid believer in  and the positive impact of having a decluttered and organized home, I believe having an organization system and clutter and junk free home are essential for ensuring positive energy flow and clear thought.

I highly recommend that parents use the beginning of a school year as another excuse to get organized, not just for the school routine, but the family home in general.  So even if you did Spring or New Year cleaning, use the late summer/early fall to re-organize your life and priorities as well.

Even if your kids have already gone back, you can still get started. Here are some declutter and home organization tips that I’ve put together that I hope can help get you through the year.

Orange-Nursery-Room-Decorating-Ideas1

Clean and Declutter the Kids Play, Work Rooms and Nursery.  Limit the number of toys and books in the kids room. Get rid of old broken toys. Give away old books and toys to the Salvation Army, Good Will or another family member with children younger than yours. Keep only a few of the favorite story books and the toys your child or children play with regularly. Don’t let them know you’re getting rid of the stuff they don’t even play with. They likely won’t even know it and you don’t need the headache of having them plea for you to keep it.

Infuse Calming Scents in the Home.  I’m a also a big believer in aromatheraphy and that scents guide the mood. Buy Glade or some other brand’s plugins to keep the air fresh and clean smelling. You can burn candles when you’re home or if you’re an incense type of person, those work too.  Consider using those with essential oils or scents such as chamomile, rose, vanilla and lavender. They are calming scents.

Thoroughly Clean the Room. Wash and Wipe down the walls, baseboards, windows and floors — with natural cleaners. Repair wall holes, cracks, squeaky windows, peeling paint. A clean home is great for fostering clear thoughts and just clarity, in general.

Set up Calendar and Chore Lists. Even if you’re a stay-at-home mom, you shouldn’t be doing all of the cleaning and upkeep. Set up a chore sheet for the refrigerator for after school chores. Also, start a new family calendar for keeping up with back to school nights, upcoming field trips, sports activities and other events so everyone knows what’s going on. If you’re the family manager as mom, you shouldn’t be the only one aware of what days are soccer practice.  Sitters, your spouse and house guests should too. Also, a chore list is great for keeping up the principles of feng shui which are all about clean spaces.

Keep Toys Dedicated to ONE area of the home (or maybe two) Avoid the chaotic mind that comes when you have toys and other things sprinkled in every nook and cranny of the home. Toys should be kept only to the play room, the kids room or one area of the apartment that is quartered off and situated with a toy chest, storage bin or some place where you can quickly toss all the toys hanging out all over the house. The tough part may be to stick to this one simple rule.

When the kids are not playing with a toy, there is really no need for it to be taking up space on the kitchen table or creating a tripping hazard for you or a guest. Either you, your partner or trained kids if they are old enough should make a concerted effort to gather all errant toys and keep them in the designated area.

It seems pretty intuitive, huh?

Over time, it will become a habit or second nature and you will find toys are not strewn about as much anymore. I do this with other areas of my home and life.  All papers, books, newspapers, invoices, magazines are usually put away in our home office.  All clothes go in a hamper, closet or bedroom.  Dishes, cups and silverware discovered anywhere in the house are picked up and taken in the kitchen

Think of this mantra:  “There is a place for Everything and Everything in its place.”

Organize the Paper Trails. Each year, families accumulate reports, information from school, permission slips and the such. It will get mixed in with bills, receipts, warranties and other paper that come into your life.

At Age 68, Richard Gere Is Expecting With His Wife

Jeff Goldblum did it at age 60 and John Stamos at  age 54 — became first time dads at a very mature stage of their respective lives.

In the starting over in the parenting pool club is Mick Jagger   who became a dad again to a newborn at 73 and Mel Gibson who welcomed a baby at age 60 and now 68-year old Richard Gere is set to jump into the fray and will become senior dad to a newborn when his new 34-year old wife  Alejandra Silva  delivers their first child together.

The couple started dating in 2014 and wed earlier this year in a private civil ceremony.

Goldblum and his then 34-year old dancer wife Emilie Livinston welcomed their second child last year, the same year that Jagger and his then 29-year old ballerina girlfriend Melanie Hamrick , around the same time 60-year old Mel Gibson announced that he is expecting a baby with his 26-year old girlfriend Rosalind Ross and after another Stones bandmate 68-year old Ronnie Wood and his 38-year old wife  Sally welcomed twins in May 2016.

This will be Gere’s second child. He and ex-wife Carey Lowell share an 18-year-old son together. Silva has a 5-year-old son from her previous marriage. This is Gere’s third marriage.

Rapper Remy Ma’s Hubby Is The Most Excited Expecting Celeb Dad Around

Rapper Remy Ma‘s husband Shamele “Papoose” Mackie could possibly be the most excited expecting celeb dad around by the looks of his social media posts about having his first child with his wife. The Love and Hip Hop star announced in July this year that she is expecting and the baby is due in December.

The “Melanin Magic” performer posted recently about giving her spouse a hard time about his ecstatic joy, meanwhile he jokes about her posing for photos in social media in a way to shield her bump.

In an adorable video, Remy Ma(real name: Reminisce Smith) performer shared on Instagram, she said that even though he was giving her grief, she felt elated to see her husband so excited about her pregnancy. This is true especially given the couple suffered a miscarriage (or maybe more) before undergoing  IVF treatment to get pregnant successfully.

“I give him a hard time because if I don’t he will OD more than he already does??‍♀️buttttttt in all actuality, there’s no better feeling than your husband being this excited about your pregnancy,” she captioned the vid. ” We love you Daddy @papoosepapoose ?-from RemyMom & “The Golden Child”

Watch the video above to see her bump!

Fans ate up the endearing interaction

“If my man don’t act like this when I get pregnant, then I don’t want him,” one wrote, while another sweetly added, “Congratulations! Y’all love each other so much! I just love it!”

The couple announced the news of the pregnancy during a garden vow renewal ceremony.

“Oh yea…and then this happened,” Remy captioned her post, discussing her weight loss and road to motherhood. “I’ve been eating right, working out, and preparing for this for almost a year. We are so happy; thank you to everyone that prayed for us and sent blessings our way.”
