Like Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton Too Suffered Isolation after Having A Royal Baby

Getty

On the heels of Meghan Markle expressing how lonely she was after having a baby in a documentary released last October as a Royal, Duchess Catherine recently opened up about having similar postpartum struggles as well.

The former Kate Middleton spoke with workers who are parents at center in Cardiff, Wales on Wednesday while promoting a  groundbreaking survey on the early childhood and she shared about how isolated she was with a new baby while her husband Prince William was away stationed with the Royal Air Force.

“It’s nice to be back in Wales,” Kate said. “I was chatting to some of the mums. It was the first year and I’d just had George — William was still working with search and rescue — and we came up here and I had a tiny, tiny baby in the middle of Anglesey.”

She added: “It was so isolated, so cut off. I didn’t have any family around, and he was doing night shifts. So…if only I had had a center like this.”

Recall last October, Duchess Meghan spoke about her struggle with being a new mom and newlywed to Prince Harry for ITV journalist Tom Bradby documentary, “Harry & Meghan: An African Journey“, Meghan Markle shared her :

“Any woman, especially when they’re pregnant, you’re really vulnerable, and so that was made really challenging. And then when you have a newborn, you know. And especially as a woman, it’s a lot,” she said at the time. “So you add this on top of just trying to be a new mom or trying to be a newlywed. It’s um…yeah. I guess, also thank you for asking because not many people have asked if I’m okay, but it’s a very real thing to be going through behind the scenes.”

After Bradby asked if she  was struggling and not okay, the Duchess responded, “Yes.”

So…there you go.

Tionne ‘TBoz’ Watkins Despises the term “Adopted”

tionne watkins

tionne watkins

Tionne “TBoz” Watkins, is one third of the iconic 90s pop group TLC, a brain tumor survivor, and mom to two kids, 18-year old daughter Chase and 4-year old son Chance who she adopted from a woman she knew from her hometown of Des Moines, Iowa.

But she despises the term “adopted” and let Dr. Sean, host of Soul Fox, know it during a sit down interview last November.

“And I hate now, on social media people be like, ‘That’s her adopted son,'” the chronic Sickle Cell Anemia disease sufferer laments of the child who she emotionally welcomed into her family in 2016, though she personally shielded the decision from the press until 2017.

In a 2017 book she released, “A Sick Life (written with Emily Zemler), Watkins detailed more about the heartbreak she experienced during the adoption process.

Chance’s birth mom had previously promised to carry a child for Watkins but reneged shortly after the baby was born.

Watkins didn’t give up hope.

And in 2015, when that same birth mother in Des Moines became pregnant again, she promised Watkins the baby was hers.

In May 2016, Watkins brought home her son Chance, nine months after he was born.

“We all just bust out crying,” Watkins says of the moment the judge finalized the adoption. “I’m not even a happy crier, ever, but I was bawling! I was so relieved because you love this person with all your heart — and to know that someone can still take him from you? I couldn’t imagine. I was so relieved once that part was over.”

She also wrote in A Sick Life.“Chance has brought new life and fulfillment in our house and made us feel even more complete, and I can’t thank his birth mother enough for that.”

She also told Dr Sean, “He’s been a blessing…That’s why his name is Chance. Because he gave me a chance—all the stuff I was going through in life, he gave me a second chance too.”

Her son doesn’t know he is adopted and Watkins is anxious that someone will step in and steal that moment from her. She has a challenge to all those who use the term “adopted” when referring to a child not birthed by the mom.

“Do you say that’s my c-section daughter? Do you say, that’s my vaginal canal son? No, you don’t. That’s my damn son,” Watkins told Dr. Sean.

“I’m so nervous for when he is old enough. I’m not nervous in my household because he knows how much I love him. But it’s the world who talks. That part is irrelevant. I understand it was a story at first or if I’m sitting here. But to say that, like—cuz you don’t know who knows what or how—like, you can’t ruin people’s lives like that.”

Congrats to TVOne‘s R&B Divas: Atlanta alum Keke Wyatt and her husband Zackariah Darring on welcoming their first child together, though Wyatt’s 10th.

She shared the news on her Instagram page on Sunday, January 12, 2020.

“My husband Zackariah [Darring] and I are blessed to welcome our beautiful and healthy 7lb 11 ounce son, Ke’Riah Darring,” the Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars captioned a collage including a nude mirror selfie and photo of the baby. “He came to our family on 1/6/2020. #GodIsGood.”

She gave a shout out to her nurses and doctor too.

‘Shahs of Sunset’ Star GG Gharachedaghi is Expecting First Child, Via IVF and Sperm Donor

Bravo TV Shahs of Sunset star Golneasa “GG” Gharachedaghi is expecting her first child after successfully completing a round of in vitro fertilization in August using a sperm donor.

She is part of a recent trend of sorts of celebrity women choosing to have a baby on their own, following last July’s announcement from “Torn” singer Natalie Imbruglia who announced she was welcoming her first child solo  as well before welcoming son Max Valentine in October.

Gharachedaghi says she has always wanted to be a mother more than anything.

“This is what I wanted my entire life,” Gharachedaghi, 37, told People. “When little girls were talking about their perfect husband and their perfect weddings, I was talking about the 10 kids I was going to have.”

She plans to skip the husband and raise her child on her own. She’s the third cast member to be pregnant following Mercedes “MJ” Javid last Spring and Asa Soltan in July 2017,

“I heard about a really good donor concierge company, who scavenges through the data from all the sperm banks in the nation and some neighboring countries to find you what you’re looking for,” she said.

Sometime last year, she did a video interview explaining what she sought in a sperm donor candidate and explained the details of the process.

“It’s amazing how the process really works,” she said. “The profiles are about 47 to 50 pages each, and they’re filled with all this amazing information, like genetic background for the man and his entire family. I hate to joke about it, but you know the Build-A-Bear Workshop? It’s almost like that, but it’s a human. Build-A-Baby!”

This latest pregnancy is the second time for success but with a better outcome.

In April, after having a first successful IVF transfer, she wound up having an ectopic pregnancy requiring emergency surgery and both of her Fallopian tubes being removed.

“That was probably the most traumatizing moment of my life,” she said. “Literally, just a couple of days before, I was celebrating. And now, I was mourning.”

After undergoing therapy to overcome that traumatic experience, she gave it one more chance.

“You think this is supposed to be such an exciting time, but this second time around, I was sort of numb,” she said. “When I went in for the first ultrasound, I couldn’t breathe. I had anxiety for two days. I couldn’t sleep, thinking, ‘This is going to happen again.”

It worked!

“I had the ultrasound, and we saw [the embryo]. A week later, we saw the heart vessel pumping,” she said. “So I’ve slowly been feeling more and more relaxed about it.”

She’s totally cool about raising her baby on her own.

“I’m OK right now focusing on me and my baby,” she said. “We’re in a day and age that women are so much more independent, and we’re not necessarily relying on men in order to move forward in life. I can start a family and have my child without being in a relationship right now.”

She added that if she is lucky to meet someone, “That’s great” but she is not interested in getting married in the future or necessarily being with a “forever life partner.”

“My forever will be my child,” she said.

GG got hitched to her on again, off again boyfriend Shalom Yeroushalmi in 2017 but the marriage lasted 7 weeks and they divorced.

Meanwhile, she’s taking a low key style while waiting for baby. One of my faves: Senegalese Twists!

Serena Williams Wins First WTA Tourney As a Mom, Ready For Final Test

Serena Williams at Auckland finals 2020

Serena Williams has won her first professional tennis tournament as a mom this weekend when she triumphed at the World Tennis Association‘s Auckland Classic on Sunday.

It was 2017 when she last won a WTA title, the Australian Open against her sister and back then, she was weeks pregnant with her now 2-year old daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian, Jr with her husband Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.

This triumph marks her 73rd WTA championship title and also means she has been mounting tournaments for four decades, after capturing her first title in 1999 at the US Open against Martina Hingis.

Williams announced plans to give back to Australia during her winner’s speech.

“I’ve been playing in Australia for over 20 years and it’s been really hard for me to watch all the news and everything that has been happening in Australia with all the fire and… animals and people that have lost their homes,” she said. “I decided at the beginning of the tournament… I’d donate all my prize money for a great cause.”

With this win, she finally silences the naysayers who believe that pregnancy, childbirth and motherhood signal the end of a sportswomen’s career.

Although she is the most accomplished tennis champ since 1968 when the WTA only permitted professionals to compete, she still faces the final hurdle of earning her 25th Grand Slam title in the so called “Open Era” when amateurs were allowed to compete in Grand Slams. Margaret Court holds the record at 24 and ties with Serena at this point.

Williams can do it and in fact Court won three of her major titles after giving birth to her son in 1972.

Other moms have done it too.

Kim Clijsters won three of her 4 Grand Slams after the birth of her child.

Lindsay Davenport won 3 of her 55 Career titles after giving birth to her son.

And Olympic Gold medalist and seven times Grand slam winner, in 1914, Dorothea Lambert Chambers became the first mother to win a Grand Slam crown.

Mothers can do amazing things! Trust and believe!

Elon Musk’s Girlfriend Singer Grimes is Pregnant {Bag Secured}

Bag secured!

Tesla CEO Elon Musk and his Canadian musician girlfriend Grimes are expecting their first child together, a baby boy.

The ethereal 31-year old announced the pregnancy news by posting a photo of herself in the nude on her Instagram page, revealing a large baby bump with a photoshop of a fetus over it.

She replied to a fan who commented on the photo with “knocked up”.

The singer, real name Claire Boucher, orignially posted a version of the maternity portrait shot by photographer Eli Russell Linnetz that displayed her nipples which was ripped down by the social media site before she reposted an edited version

Comments from several celebrities, including from the singer Janelle Monae, expressed congratulatory and emotional messages to the singer.

Yesterday, Musk alluded to the baby’s sex by reposting the photo of Grimes with the comment, “X is Y”, and given the XY chromosome is indicia of a boy, most assume that’s what the couple who’ve dated off and on since 2018 are having.

LPGA Champ Michelle Wie is Expecting first Child

Five-time Ladies Professional Golf Association (LGPA) winner Michelle Wie is expecting her first child, a baby girl, with husband Jonnie West,  son of NBA legend Jerry West.

She announced the news on Instagram.

“Babygirl, we love you so much already and we just can’t wait to meet you this summer!! #BabyWest ??” the 30-year old captioned a photo of herself and West both holding a pair of baby shoe.

A second photo is of the couple with their sheep dog wearing a “big brother” tee shirt.

The couple married just last year on August 10 in Beverly Hills, California.  She had been doing TV commentating work for The Golf Channel and is scheduled to work for CBS during the Masters in April.

Last June, Wie, a prodigy who, at age 10, became  the youngest person ever to qualify for a USGA amateur tournament, said in June that she would take off the rest of 2019 season to try to heal the right hand on which she had surgery in the fall of 2018. She also has arthritis in both wrists.
