Jessica Simpson is Stylishly On Her Third Pregnancy

Jessica Simpson is coasting into her last trimester with her third child wit husband, former NFL quarterback Eric Johnson.

The singer-songwriter has been keeping busy and attending industry and trade events for her various entrepreneurial endeavors including her clothing and shoe line.

This week, for example, she showed up to the 25th Annual QVC “FFANY Shoes on Sale” Gala to receive her Fashion Icon Award at The Ziegfeld Ballroom on October 11, 2018 in New York City.

The Dukes of Hazard star announced the news that she was expecting a baby girl back in September with a photo of herself cradling her baby bump. She and Johnson’s older kids, 6-year old daughter Maxwell and 5-year old son Ace, helped her reveal the gender news with an instagram photo series.

The first with the two holding oversized black and white polka dot balloons that the kids would burst.

“This little baby girl will make us a family of five,” Simpson captioned the second photo of tiny pink balloons floating outside of the large black and white ones. “We couldn’t be happier to announce this precious blessing of life.

Congrats!!!

Trend: Manuela Testolini’s Baby Bump Message From Years Ago Is Thing

Back in 2012, R&B singer Eric Benet (Halle Berry‘s ex-husband) shared a photo (which has since been deleted) of his wife Manuela Testloni on Instagram while nursing their daughter Lucia while she was unknowingly holding up the universal sign for peace.

He shared the photo and it went viral but for the best reason in that it became a de facto advocate for breastfeeding.

There was a lot of debate about the appearance of breaspt in social media and it sparked a bunch of controversy, online discussion and some public shaming of public breast exposure during breastfeeding.

The Benet family including his daughter India and Luciana, with his then-newest daughter born in 2015.

Around that same time, he also shared a super cool photo of Testolini with a sweet message written on her belly (see above)

It has taken off and since then, I have noticed that quite a few women have followed her lease and written phrases, sayings and scriptures on their bellies and incorporated the image in their maternity portraits.

Here are a few from our Pinterest page which you can check out for image source and credit info:

FOX TV News Anchor Wants You To Avoid Her ‘Too Short’ Maternity Leave Decision

Aaaah! I’ve blogged often about moms-to-be who announce in advance plans to take a limited maternity leave only to quickly realize after giving birth that it’s not that easy to do that. Cardi B, Amal Clooney, Ivanka Trump, and former Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer all made bold pronouncements about taking short leaves before changing their minds after baby arrives.

And alas, another celeb who learned this lesson is using her experience to inspire other mothers, especially working ones, to do it differently.

FOX Business Network anchor Trish Regan took just  six weeks of maternity leave after giving birth to twin girls Elizabeth and Alexandra, now 8. Then a few years later, she took just three weeks off of work after her second pregnancy with son Jamie, now 5. Whoa!

Recently, the 45-year old shared her regret with prioritizing work and employers’ needs over choosing to take extra time to bond with her newborns with PEOPLE.

“That was a mistake, in retrospect, it was a big mistake. I look back on it and for sure it was a mistake,” Regan told the magazine of her super short maternity leaves. “It’s a mistake that I really want to make sure other women don’t make.”

The mother of three, who was promoted to the primetime lineup in September, was fearful of losing her place but now warns that the time away from a newborn doesn’t always mean it’s time well spent. She

“Make sure you take every bit of time because the reality is the job will always be here but that time with your child, you will never get back,” she added. “That’s important time for you as a mother. One of the things that is so important as a working parent is to remember: What are our priorities?”

Regan concluded, “The time they spend with their family is really important. I may have not made some of the decisions that I made [and] I can’t go back and change it but I can try to make it better for people I work with now.”

Not everyone has the opportunity, financially or otherwise, to take too much time off, but for those who do,  I’m certain that Regan would agree that you should elect as much leave time as possible.

Brit Star Robbie Williams Quits Social Media After His and Wife’s Surrogate Third Baby

Social Media can be a blessing and curse. The best part of it is that it bridges people who live in different cultures, communities and bubbles around the country and the world and through that connection, I believe, allows us to be more closer, empathetic and connected with one another.

It also lets people in the public eye like politicians, athletes, entertainers and other celebrities to reach, interact and engage more directly with their fans and vice versa. Before social media, the members of the public had to rely on the filters of PR reps, publicists and managers and would get an unrealistic or an idealized version of them.

The flip side of that access is that social media lets through the trolls, the haters, the naysayers and the overly critical, extremely harsh and toxic viewpoints. They break thru with the purpose to cut down, shame and be aggressively unnecessarily rude, I think. And we in the media often bite!

Often times, I’ve seen entire articles put together by a mainstream news site or news wire outlet based on the hostile opinions of the minority.

But they do say the squeaky wheel gets the oil and alas, those squawks suck up the air in the room. Think of when a few racist opinions are mixed in among dozens or hundreds of non-racists ones, we, including the media, focus on those hateful voices and then amplify them.

This amplification is not always good. It creates a mountain out of a molehill, if I can borrow an overused cliche. Making minor opposition appear more common. Like a few people may have been sad about the president interrupting a football game to give his  State of the Union address but you’ll see an article exclaim, “Social Media Did Not Like the President Interrupting the Game”.  A few irate voices do and should not equate to all of social media.

Our celeb friends feel the amplification too.

Take for example Robbie Williams, who is a recording artist in the UK and one of the panel judges on the X Factor. He recently decided to take a break from all of his social media accounts because he believes that his opinion on the show is hated by half of England! Half of England?!?

Of his decision, Williams said:

“I’ve had to take myself off social media – reading Twitter and stuff….If there’s more than half the country that hate me, that’s 50 million people…That’s a lot of people and that can feed into your psyche and make you feel bad.”

I do not follow that show or the fallout from decisions that closely, and I am certain he was exaggerating by saying 50M people hate him, but that remark exemplifies how LOUD and BRASH the negative opinions can be in social .

In any event, the former Take That star and his wife actress Ayda Field recently welcomed his third child, Colette (Coco) Josephine Williams, with via a surrogate after a difficult journey to have a third child via traditional means. The entire process was pretty much kept from the public until after baby was born.

They are parents to 6-year old daughter Teddy and 3-year old son Charlie.

Congrats to them!

That’s essential because her and Ne-Yo’s separation and personal battles were very much public before the two reconciled.

What’s most important is protecting the hearts and minds of innocent children, ours, and yours.” Ne-Yo shares. “This book is about preventing kids from being on the receiving end of issues and circumstances that we grownups create for ourselves. It’s about a state of mind, helping parents remove the harmful attitudes and behavior that threaten them and their children’s well-being.”
Shaw used her time on the Exes show which chronicled the lives of the ex-wives of famous men to build a platform and become a positive vessel promoting education and philanthropy. Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams is Pregnant

Congratulations to Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams who is expecting her first child with boyfriend Dennis McKinley.

The news came with trepidation because the stage actress suffered a previous miscarriage six years ago.

“When I found out I was pregnant, I was excited [but] I had mixed feelings. The other feeling that I had beside excitement was fear,” the Real Housewives of Atlanta star, who suffered a miscarriage six years ago, told PEOPLE in an interview for the newest issue, out Friday.

“I’ve had a miscarriage before in my past, which I’ve also been open about because I suffer with fibroids and had to have a myomectomy…So just the fear of, ‘Is the baby going to be okay? Will I make it full term?’ All those questions that you ask if you’ve had a miscarriage before.”

She raves of him, “The thought of me getting that blessing after praying for it for so long and getting that blessing with someone who is just as excited as me — it’s Dennis’ first child, just like me — and it’s something we’ve both always wanted … It’s like a dream come true.”

“I believe he’s probably shed more tears during the process than me,” Williams tells PEOPLE of McKinley, whom she has known for years but only began dating this past year. “It’s just the sweetest moment of my life right now.”

The TV host joins fellows co stars Kenya Moore and Shamea Moore

Congrats!

Emmy: Congrats to Shocked Winners Thandie Newton and Regina King

The Primetime Emmy Awards went down last night and in lieu of Red Carpet coverage, I’m posting to give a shout out to two of my Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums who won and were visibly shocked about it too: Thandie Newton and Regina King

Newton won for Best Actress, Drama, for her role on Westworld. During her acceptance speech, Newton wished her daughter a happy birthday, accidentally dropped the F-bomb, and then Thanked God…even though she might be an atheist.

“I don’t even believe in god but I’m going to thank her tonight,” said Newton.

Another fave, actress, producer and director Regina King looked shocked when she was announced as the winner of the Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for the TV show she brought to the little screen, Seven Seconds, about a woman whose son is killed in a cycling accident by a police officer, the cover up and the effect of the scandal on a little town.

King had previously won two Emmys in that category for her  work in ABC’s American Crime in 2016.

Watch her acceptance speech:

Not a mom, but I was a watcher and fan of the 1970s/early 80s show Happy Days, and so I was happy to see The Fonz, aka, Henry Winkler win his first ever Emmy Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Barry at the age of 72.
The amazing moment came 42 years after he was first nominated for his role on Happy Days.

“I only have 37 seconds; I wrote this 43 years ago,” said Winkler, who has been nominated six times in his illustrious career. “Skip Brittenham said to me a long time ago, ‘If you stay at the table long enough, the chips come to you,” and tonight I got to clear the table.”

Yay! Congrats!
