MTV OGs at the MTV Movie & TV Awards Red Carpet

Audrina Patridge, Heidi Montag and Jennifer Farley at MTV Movie and TV Awards

Because the MTV Movie and TV Awards are so youth centered, there weren’t that many moms rocking the red carpet.

Of course though, the MTV OGs from The Hills and Laguna Beach Audrina Patridge and newest mom Heidi Montag were there, as was the cast from the network’s Jersey Shore: The Reunion which was up for the “Reality Royalty” award like Jennifer “JWoww” Farley and others.

collage from MTV Movie and TV Awards Red Carpet 2019

My fave looks came from Jada Pinkett Smith‘s silver pant suit, Brie Larson‘s Buterfly top and pant ensemble by David Koma and Vanderpump Rules co stars Lala Kent and Stassi Schroeder in a white turtleneck and miniskirt by Magda Butrym who both looked stunning!

Shchroeder’s barely there make up looked great and the feathered boa accented her look perfectly!

Serena Williams was nominated for “Best Real Life Hero” for her work on her short HBO docu-series, Being Serena

JWoww wore a black minidress from Fashion Nova and black and white pumps. Patridge accented her black long split gown with jewels: a Liven Co snake ring, a Zoe Lev “X” ring, and silver clutch. Montag went with a vintage Gucci jumpsuit.

Bumps, Crimson and Noir at 2019 CFDA Awards

It was all about fashion and flare this year at the 2019  Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards held on Monday, June 3, at the Brooklyn Museum in New York.

Third-time mom-to-be’s Jenna Bush Hager wore a crimson cape dress to the CFDA Fashion Awards that concealed her bump. She said the outfit got mixed reviews but her two daughters loved it. ††

Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum Jennifer Lopez showed off her rock hard six pack in an orange custom Ralph Lauren crop top layered with 43,200 crystals and matching floor length skirt on the red carpet and on stage when she received her fashion icon award.

CFDA Chairwoman, Diane von Furstenberg said JLo was a no brainer when it came to picking her for the award.

“Jennifer Lopez uses clothes as a way to express confidence and power,” the designer said. “Both designers and fans look forward to her fashion statements.”

Steven Kolb, President and CEO of the CFDA, added, “Jennifer Lopez’s style is bold, uninhibited, and always memorable. Designers, including many of our CFDA Members, love to dress her for both stage and private moments.”

Lopez joins past recipient that include: Rihanna, Beyoncé, Naomi Campbell, Pharrell Williams, and Johnny Depp.

Also, Lily Aldridge, another bumpwatch alum looked sizzling hot in a classic and elegant crimson red gown by Brandon Maxwell.

Oh and one more! Teyana Taylor in Thom Browne.

Finally, not a mom but my country mate, I am loving former CNN anchor Isha Sesay in a short fro in a look by Christopher John Rogers.

Celeb Mamas Slayed 2019’s Met Gala Pink Carpet

This year’s annual gala to celebrate the opening of a new exhibit at New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of the Arts, was more over the top than ever before.

Perhaps because the theme was “Camp”, maybe, celebrities brought extra extravagance and bold and gregarious fashion and antics.

The official theme of the Met’s 2019 was “Camp: Notes on Fashion” and celebrates the newest exhibit which is inspired by Susan Sontag‘s 1964 essay that defines camp as “love of the unnatural: of artifice and exaggeration.”

I think Lady Gaga might have won with her theatrics that included he unraveling and revealing of not one but four looks by designer, with the assistance of a small army of flamboyant but meticulous handlers.

Cardi B’s presentation and actor Billy Porter’s were quite spectacular and so much so, I almost forgot previous mega head turners Rihanna, Beyoncé, Madonna and third-time mom-to-be Blake Lively were conspicuously missing.

My fave looks were by women who are not yet moms (per this is a celebrity pregnancy blog so they focus is on moms)

First was singer and Endgame actress Hailee Steinfield

My second fave was Lupita Nyong’o who is stunning!

And of course, we saw lots of the celebrity moms we have featured on Bellyitch who each brought their total A game to the party and did it up right!

I am proud of myself for having the institution memory to have been able to recognize all of these beautiful moms without reading the caption to see who they are. Woot.

The 2019 Oscar Red Carpet Rundown

Congrats to all of the nominees and winners of last night’s 91st annual Academy Awards held last night at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California.

Special recognition goes to our frequent featured mama Regina King who walked away with the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the James Baldwin adapted movie “If Beale Street Could Talk.”

She stunned in a white custom

Oscar De La Renta high split strapless gown with loose ringlets and parted hair accented with Chopard jewels.

As usual, I spotted several of our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums on the Red Carpet during arrivals at the opulent affair.

Spotted were: Emily Deschanel; Jennifer Lopez in a mirrored high neck Tom Ford fitted gown; Jennifer Hudson in a ruffled burnt sienna Elie Saab gown; formal model Molly Sims also in a silver gown but with sequins and a little more intricate than JLo’s with side cut outs and a long train by Zuhair Murad; Serena Williams in black with red strapless Armani Prive gown; and Tina Fey in a totally gorgeous strapless Vera Wang gown.

Also, Charlize Theron stunning in Dior Haute Couture, Kristin Cavallari; Amy Poehler looking smart in a tailored and crisp Alberta Ferretti suit; and Maya Rudolph floral regal by Giambattista Valli

Also, Kelly Ripa in Cristian Siriano and Helen Lasichanh.

My faves were all the moms in their 40s and looking fabulous:

Academy Awards Timeline of Bumps on the Red Carpet

In 2012, Adele welcomed her first child, son Angelo, and the next year, she won an Oscar for Best Song for the and explained having to express breast milk in the bathroom to relieve her engorged breast.

The “Rolling in the Deep” singer missed out on having to be heavily pregnant on the red carpet like several of her fellow A-listers in year’s past.

Oscar has played host to several heavily pregnant

In 1992, Susan Sarandon was almost due with her son Miles

whom she welcomed (with then-beau Tim Robbins) when she was nominated for her role in Thelma & Louise at age 47. (She didn’t win but was nominated 5 times and won Best Actress in 1996 for her role in Dead Man Walking.)

In 1998, Glen Close was 8-months pregnant when nominated for Fatal Attraction.

In 2000, four-time Academy Award nominee Annette Bening was nominated for her role in American Beauty at almost 8 months pregnant with her fourth child with husband Warren Beatty, daughter Ella.

In 2003, Catherine Zeta-Jones accepted the award for Best Supporting Actress Oscar for Chicago while almost full term with daughter Cary with husband .

In 2004, Marcia Gay-Harden was nominated for her role in Mystic River, while pregnant with twins!

In 2006, Rachel Weisz was 7-months preggers with her and

then-boyfriend Darren Aronofsky when she won the Best Supporting Actress trophy for The Constant Gardner.

In 2011, Black Swan star Natalie Portman was 6 months pregnant with her and her choreographer husband Benjamin Millepied,  first son, Aleph when she accepted her Best Actress award.

In 2014, although Kerry Washington was not nominated for an Oscar, she did attend, cradling the baby bump from her first child, Isabelle.

That same year, Chris Hemsworth ’s wife, Elsa Pataky  in 2014 wore blue sequins but maybe made a fashion mistake of wearing it under and not on top of her belly.

2019 Grammy Awards Recap {PHOTOS}

The 61st Annual GRAMMY Awards went down last night February 10 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

Congrats to a couple of our “Bellyitch Bumpwatch” alums who took home awards: Cardi B for the Best Rap Album for her project “Invasion of Privacy” and muva Beyonce who won Best Urban Contemporary Album for her album collaboration project with her husband, Jay Z, “Everything Is Love” — The Carters.

Rashida Jones won an award for Best Music Film for their documentary Quincy about her dad music icon Quincy Jones.

On stage, our other blog alum Alicia Keys kept the attendees entertained while fulfilling her hosting duties and doing an amazing job singing some hits old and new while playing not one, but two pianos!

Besides her on-stage performance outfit, a black leotard and shimmery black tuxedo pants and a chic black fedora, the “Empire State of Mind” performer had four outfit changes if you count the fitted red tea-length Giorgio Armani button-up gown with a plunging neckline.

She also donned a green Palazzo leg jumsuit with a green print head scarf, a black jumpsuit with a plunging neckline and my fave, a red deep v jumpsuit with collar cape draping.

Jennifer Lopez also performed a tribute to Motown and showed up on the red carpet and during the intro, joined Keyes alongside Jada Pinkett Smith, Lady Gaga and former First Lady Michelle Obama, in a white Ralph & Russo pantsuit.

Cardi did a showstopping Burlesque’ish routine to her hit song “Money” but before that worked the red carpet in an elegant and avant garde vintage dress from the Mugler 1995 fall couture collection.

It looks like big and bold looks was the thing this year because Kylie Jenner showed up and out in a very structured blush pink Balmain Couture pants suit to cheer on her beau Travis Scott who was nominated for a few awards last night.

Not everyone went way out. New mom Jones did a nice conservative look in a long Ralph Lauren dress with Cartier jewels and Brian Atwood heels and I loved the elaborate yet simplicity of Pinkett Smith’s 20s feel feathered gown.

My fave dress was Bebe Rexha, whose not a mom, but rocked it in a gorgeous red layered Monsoori dress.

2018 MTV VMAs: Cardi B’s Baby Kultura Fake Out & Red Carpet Trends

Last night was the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards at Radio City Music Hall in New York, New York City on August 20.

Quite a few of our Bellyitch  Bumpwatch alums showed up and/or showed out with draw-dropping performances, on-stage antics, on the red carpet risks and MoonMan winning!

Jennifer Lopez gave an electrifying performance of a medley of her hits over the years before accepting the Video Vanguard Award, the first person of Latino heritage to win the coveted prize.

Cardi B surprised the audience by opening the show cradling what looked like a baby on stage

Many thought they would get the first glimpse of her infant girl Kultura with husband rapper Offset, but she later revealed it was a trophy.

Womp womp womp!!

Later in the evening, the “I Like It” rapper won three of several awards she was nominated for, Song of the Summer for “I Like It featuring Bad Bunny & J Balvin; Best new artist and Best Collaboration for “Dinero” Jennifer Lopez’s song with DJ Khaled Artist of the year.

One fashion trend that stood out to me was the inptricate sheet organza I saw on singing sisters and Beyonce protege Chloe X Haile, comedic actress Tiffany Hadish and British singing phenom  Rita Ora.

And finally, winning the sex kitten awards: a chaps and chisel abs donning Teyana Taylor, Blac Chyna and red cat woman Amber Rose.
