Inside Chrissy Teigen & John Legend’s Royal SoHo NYC Baby Shower

First time parents-to-be Chrissy Teigen and John Legend had an elegant regal and metallic gold and pink color-themed dinner party baby shower this past weekend while the new book author was in New York City promoting her new best selling cookbook “Cravings“.

The intimate event for 40 was held atop a shop in the SoHo district of Manhattan and it featured personalized napkin favors, a meal with several courses including kale salad, an assortment of desserts including pink and white horse buggy and ballerina decorated cookies, macrons, petite cupcakes, brownies, flan and more.

Teigen and John wore paper Baby Daddy and Baby Mama crowns and guests got to make their own in an arts and craft room.

I know because see all those people with camera phones in that lower center photo of the collage on the top of this page? They all Instagrammed their pics with the hashtags #LegendBaby, #BabyLegendNYC and Harper’s Bazaar stalked them all and put them on its website.

The NYC signing at @837NYC was freaking. Epic. If you were there, I know you’d agree!! I’ve never seen a book signing with an open bar of all my drink recipes, frito pies and chicken satays and virtual reality and a tunnel where your entire Instagram life flashes before your eyes. It was insane. Thank you to everyone who came out!! Now I must go into hiding for a little bit to properly incubate and give this little thing a break but what a whirlwind it has been. People are dragging Chrissy Teigen Online for Sharing that She Picked Her Unborn Baby’s Gender

First time mom-to-be Chrissy Teigen is getting dragged in social media and online today over her decision to pick the gender of her and husband John Legend‘s first child.

The TV host and model made the revelation in a recent PEOPLE magazine interview.

“I’ve made this decision,” Teigen told the magazine. “Not only am I having a girl, but I picked the girl from her little embryo. I picked her and was like, ‘Let’s put in the girl.'”

Phew!

Who told her to share that intimate detail about her infertility struggles that ended in her successfully conceiving via in vitro fertilization? I cannot believe she didn’t’ think folks would get quite up in arms about hearing this tidbit.

Everyone since has stated their ethical opposition to gender selection for non-medical reasons. So much so that she became a trending topic on Twitter and Facebook since the article posted.

She later tweeted a reply to the backlash.

“What is that difference though? i’ve already created embryos with a doctor. only after must it be random,” she wrote. “This is all so interesting. I said it so casually because i’m just open. I’m around so many open-minded people & forgot it’s controversial. anyhow I am not mad at anyone’s beliefs but I don’t really actively seek out people to make them feel bad about their decisions either.”

And she joked about it too to relieve all the hate darts thrown her way. “I also picked the embryo with a taste for bacon, a knack for magic and size 7 feet so she can always find shoes,” she quipped in a tweet.

Teigen famously shared that she and her singer-songwriter husband were having a tough time getting pregnant while hosting the now-canceled daytime talk show she co-hosted with Tyra Banks (also a new mom.)

R&B crooner John Legend and his model and TV host wife Chrissy Teigen are not strangers to sharing affection for one another at events and definitely on social media. The couple are expecting their first child together after a few bouts of infertility and other struggles to conceive and maintain a pregnancy, Teigen once shared.

The internet was abuzz again recently over a tender moment shared on Instagram of the “Ordinary People” singer and multi-award winning artist kissing Teigen’s growing bump.

A Look At Chrissy Teigen’s 2nd Trimester Maternity Style

And now for the portion of our coverage when we dissect Chrissy Teigen’s second trimester looks.

Teigen announced in October that she was expecting her first child with her husband John Legend and we have been loving her maternity style!

Teigen hilariously told InStyle Australia and she and Legend come from a family of bigger people and said they have to watch what they eat and exercise otherwise they’ll blow up.

Well, you wouldn’t be able to tell by the way she remained pretty svelte and still able to get away with some edgy fashion for her second trimester of her pregnancy. She stuck with A-line dresses but didn’t shy away from mixing and matching pieces too.

I love the color of this Malene Birgir vertical striped silk dress. Hey, when you’ve got the legs, right?! Teigen went with Givenchy Clark Shark Lock Suede Sandals in a neutral color to match her camel colored coat. Fab!
I did a Splurge/Steal post on this very cute outfit Teigen wore shortly after announcing her pregancy. There was tremendous buzz over the outfit because it was sheer as well.
I like the plaid A-Line shirt dress Teigen while out and about. It’s freeing yet still stylish. This Peak-lapel wool-blend coat by Mugler worn overtop is fierce and as it should be when paired with a sharp black Hermes Birkin bag. And I want those Chloe platform boots but am bummed they’re sold out at Neiman’s. Shucks! Teigen capped off the look with a pair of aviator shades by Victoria Beckham.
Teigen loves her friend Beckham who outfitted her in this cute white mini dress. It is simple and chic and the bun makes it even cuter. And I was surprised to find out thse gold Kurt Geiger KG Hero Platforms are reasonably priced at just $64. Nice!

5. This Lace Trimmed Pencil Skirt dress by Self Portrait actually sold out, I believe after it was part of a trending topic on Social Media. Teigen wore look at an event also during the same week after she announced her pregnancy. It too was much buzzed about!

That was an A+ maternity look for the Second Trimester! Let’s see what Teigen and her stylist team bring us for this last trimester she is heading into. (if not already in)

Inside Chrissy Teigen’s InStyle Australia Fashion Shoot (PHOTOS/VIDEO)

Chrissy Teigen looked radiant on the February cover of InStyle Australia and in the inside cover shots. The TV host and model is expecting her first child, a daughter, with her husband John Legend.

The photos give out an aura of outdoor, romantic yet natural. It’s awesome that the magazine found such unique pieces that flatter with such style and sophistication. It is also great that they went with national designers from Australia. So many shoots feature the usual suspects from Paris, France and Milan, Italy.

The FABLife co-host revealed in the cover story that her good friend Kim Karadashian gave her maternity wear advice.

“She told me to go stretchy,” Tegein shared with the magazine. We agree! Great advice. Stretchy is quite forgiving yet accentuates the curves.

How simply elegant is this white Bally‘s shirt dress?! Owww. It is accessorized with XIV bangles and very exotic Christian Louboutin straw booties. They give me that “Outback” vibe. They fit in perfectly with the rustic shoot. SwoonTegien also confessed that she and Legend haven’t settled on a baby name yet. “We change the name every day, basically,” the LipSync Battle host said while adding that they haven’t done much work on the nursery either.

We are also loving this gorgeous flowy black and white cotton and silk maxi dress by Australian designer Maticevski. I love the four bold white Dinosaur Designs white resin bangles which is perfect accompaniment to the up swept bun and bare feet. Perfect!

And she gets to be flirty in this black cotton dress that looks like intertwined chains made by Romance Was Born, another Australian designer. And are those asps we see on that Giuseppe Zanotti sandals? Could be. They are hawt!

Chrissy Teigen Wants Y’all to Quit Sending Her Photo of that Viral John Legend Look-A-Like Baby

The baby, then 4-months old, is named Camden. Last April, 2014, on Easter Sunday April 20, his aunt Rachel Ayanaw tweeted an adorable photo of her sweet nephew.

“My nephew looks like John Legend lol,” she wrote in the post alongside a pic of Caden strapped into a car seat, US Weekly reported. Legend found it cute and tweeted out his own baby photo which another fan did a side-by-side graphic on April 21….and since then, Camden has become an Internet Legend.

Congrats to Thai-Norwegian model Chrissy Teigen who recently shared the cover photo for Vogue Thailand on her Instagram account by also announcing the gender of her first child with husband, singer-songwriter John Legend.

“So proud and honored to have shot the cover of Vogue Thailand!” she captioned a photo of the cover. “Special to me for so many reasons…one being I am SO PROUD to be Thai, so excited to have shot a Vogue cover (a dream, of course),” she wrote on her Instagram, “annnnd a couple minutes after this shot, John and I learned we were having our little baby girl!”

John Legend threw Chrissy Teigen an Epic 30th Birthday Party and Dave Chappelle was There!

This might be old news for some of you all, but over the Thanksgiving weekend, John Legend threw his pregnant wife talk show host and model Chrissy Teigen an epic 30th birthday party at the NYC Comedy club Comedy Cellar.

The best part is he got the now-reclusive comic genius Dave Chappelle to come out and perform a comedy set for her! That’s love! Dude doesn’t gig that much any more and only does occasional sets here and there.

“Chrissy’s birthday party on Saturday was pretty amazing,”Legend captioned a photo of Chappelle on his Instagram page. “She wanted to celebrate her 30th with some of her favorite things: comedy, great food and good friends. So we took over the Comedy Cellar for the night, with the catering of @davidchang and the @momolongplay team.

“The Comedy Cellar helped us curate a talented group of comedians to make us laugh all night, and our surprise (to Chrissy, not to me) closer was the incomparable, brilliant Dave Chappelle. Thanks so much to Dave for his generosity. he freestyled for about 2 hours and it was genius. I’ve heard about his small club sets but this was the first time I was able to see it in person. He’s so good and we felt so fortunate to witness it.”

Model Chrissy Teigen is loving the new curves she is developing while pregnant and she is being vocal about it. The FABLife TV host is also sharing regular bump progression photos in social media with her fans and followers. Most of the feedback is positive.

“Hello new thighs!” Teigen wrote in the comment section to the above photo shared recently. “You appeared out of nowhere but I am not mad at it!”

It’s wonderful to read about her embracing her new body because many women dislike their pregnant bodies and never adjust to the new curves, sagging and extra weight that become permanent.

Jillian Michael infamously told Women’s Health Magazine in 2010 that after working so hard to lose tremendous amount of weight, she didn’t want a baby to “ruin it”. There are others out there who are fearful of pregnancy because of the changes.
