In lieu of the usual award show Red Carpet run down, we’re just showcasing the stunning baby bumps on display last night at the Academy Awards show held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California.
Recording artist and model Ciara went to the Vanity Fair after party in an almost bare, sheer, see-through mesh Grecian crystal adorned custom Ralph & Russo one-shoulder gown revealing her silhouette and toned legs in a strategically placed slit and accompanying draping, highlighted with silver strappy heels and bronze make up.
She looked stunning.
Ciara is expecting her second child with husband, Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson. She is mom to almost 3-year old daughter Sienna Princess and 5 1/2 year old son Future Zuhair from a previous relationship, hip hop performer Future.
Meanwhile, Superstore star America Ferrera attended the actual awards ceremony and also went with another form of regal wear. Hers was a wine-colored custom Alberta Ferretii limited edition empire waist gown with full cap sleeves, accessorized with a custom Jennifer Behr brass halo.
Other than Beyonce who was nominated in but did not win two Grammy Awards categories (Best Solo Pop Son for “Spirit” and “Best Pop Vocal Album” for “The Lion King) moms got shut out of awards Sunday night.
But a couple of bumps did show up on the Red Carpet.
Australian model Nicole Trufino arrived in an elegant black gown to root on her husband Gary Clark Jr who won Best Rock, Best Rock Performance and Best Contemporary Blues Album.
The couple have two children with 5-year old son Zion and 1-year old daughter Gia.
She announced she was expecting her third child in the October 2019 issue of Elle Australia and is due to give birth any day now.
Meanwhile, 3rd-time mom-to-be, accountability coach and Real Housewives of Beverly Hillsstar Teddi Mellencamp attended Steven Tyler‘s annual Grammy watch party with her husband Edwin Arroyava.
First-time mom-to-be Marren Morris skipped the pomp and circumstance alogether selecting instead to babymoon with her husband at the lake.
She captioned the post on her Instagram feed, “Back at the farm. #babymoon ?.”
The singer was nominated Sunday evening for best country duo/group performance with fellow Highwomen band member Brandi Carlile. (Dan + Shay took home the honor.) Morris previously won a Grammy for best country solo performance for “My Church” in 2017, and performed at last year’s awards show.
Actress and dancer Jenna Dewan bumped it up at this Sunday’s American Music Awards held at the MicrosoftTheater in Los Angeles, California.
The pregnant American Horror Story alum showed up and showed out on the red carpet in a coral bump-hugging Emporio Armani gown that features a bateau neckline, open back and classic silk satin bow with her hair in loose ringlets.
Dewan, who recently divorced from her husband Magic Mike star Channing Tatum, was accompanied to the show by her friend Brad Goreski.
The Step Up star announced last month that she and her actor beau Steve Kazee are expecting their first child together.
She and Tatum share a 6-year old daughter named Every together.
Anne Hathaway made her first red carpet appearance since announcing her pregnancy last month for the Broadway opening of Jake Gyllenhaal‘s play, Sea Wall/A Life.
The Devil Wears Prada actress showed up to the red carpet arrival in a hot pink custom Brandon Maxwell dress.
Anne revealed the news of her pregnancy on Instagram last month, showing off her baby bump and joking that it wasn’t weight gain or prosthetics for a new movie.
The Ocean’s 8 star also took the opportunity to send a positive message to those dealing with infertility issues, saying that her own experience “was not a straight line”.
Opening up further about her second pregnancy, Anne told Entertainment Tonight: “I am really happy. This is something I’ve been wanting for a while and I’m really happy it’s happening.”
Adding to the Instagram caption about her road to pregnancy not being a straight line, Anne said: “There is a one-sided narrative to this, and of course it’s wonderful that we celebrate the happy moment when it’s ready to share.”
America’s Next Top Model Cycle 3 winner, actress and model Eva Marcille is coasting into her third pregnancy and looking chic in body con while doing it.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta Bravo TV franchise star is usually known for her flowy Bohemian, carefree looks and faux locs and ultra long braids, but recently, she’s pulled it all in and gone more polished while attending formal and red carpet events this pregnancy.
Earlier on, she hosted an event in a mustard colored sleeveless pencil skirt dress.

And most recently, the Girlfriend Confidential: LA alum attended the launch of co-star Cynthia Bailey‘s new wine shop,The Bailey Wine Cellar (the same event where Bailey’s boyfriend, ESPN sports commentator Mike Hill proposed), in a brown off the shoulder dress.
Gabrielle Union shared the most adorable high fashion mommy and me photo this week featuring her daughter Kaavia James Wade, and the best part is she was wearing a caftan from a designer from my native Sierra Leone, West Africa.
On Tuesday, the actress and America’s Got Talent judge shared a fashion photo taken by photographer April Belle, which she captioned, “Settled and Serving.”
She was wearing a colorful aquamarine two piece bikini with intricate ethnic shapes at the trim while draped with a coordinated Aphrodite Goddess Kaftan from Sierra Leone native Sai Sankoh‘s self-titled debut fashion line and retails for $295.
My story is a lot like Sankoh’s in that I too arrived in the US as an immigrant as a child and eventually hosted a series of websites and blogs.
According to a recent feature in Yahoo! News, Sankoh recently moved to Dallas, Texas with her sister when she was bit with the designing bug and began crafting designs, and used her celebrity contacts and past work to get a series of stars to wear her Havana Collection.
I am a fan and have featured Sankoh’s Because I Am Fabulous blog and her African Luxemagazine in the past on this blog. The now defunct BecauseImFabulous.com site used to feature breakdown of celebrity Red Carpet and other fashion features.
And now she’s done with that and focused on her line and on getting A-Listers to wear her designs. Love the focus!
“Thanks for doing my kaftan such justice,” Sankoh captioned her repost of the Union photo later.
A recent feature by Lucille Dyosi in Medium characterized the pieces as “glamorous, sophisticated luxury resort wear that can easily be styled from boardroom to the beach.”
I also love that Sankoh’s kaftans are perfect for maternity shoots and for fashion shoots that travel bloggers have while on vacation abroad in places like Mykonos, Greece and Dubai.
Other celeb fans include Destiny’s Child alum Michelle Williams and author and media personality Sarah Jakes Roberts, daughter of famed Bishop T.D. Jakes.
Of the line of colorful clothes, Sainkoh said:
” My recent collection ‘lasting havana’ is inspired by my home country Sierra Leone. We have an amazing culture that I think the world needs to see. Also the flora and fauna amaze me especially in summer season, the colours, the bright and overall landscape during that time are just breathtaking. They are the inspiration behind this collection.”
She also said she has plans to build a factory in Sierra Leone eventually and to help another generation prosper as well.
I’m waiting for the baby and girls versions after seeing Kaavia’s coordinated with her mom as I was loving Kaavia’s matching Ankara print dress and bow tie headwrap which we first saw back on July 6 on ther baby’s Instagram page.
The couple welcomed baby Kaavia in November, via surrogate. Wade is also dad to three sons — 5 1/2 year old Xavier Zechariah, 12-year old Zion Malachi Airamis and 7-year old Zaire Blessing Dwyane — and guardian to his nephew 17-year old Dahveon.
At last week’s 2019 ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons Hotel, brand new mom and singer/songwriter Kehlani walked the carpet and paid tribute to awards for songwriting.
She won an award for her work on the reigning hip hop queen Cardi B‘s song “Ring” which she is featured.
Speaking of Cardi, she got to add ASCAP Songwriter of the Year to her long list of history making awards because she is the first female rapper to receive that acknowledgment.
“I just want to say I’m very grateful,’ Cardi B began after accepting the award from ASCAP CEO Elizabeth Matthews. “Sometimes I feel like I’m not doing too much because when it comes to female rappers, it’s like you’re never doing too much or they’re always pitting you against another female rapper. People on my team are like ‘Cardi, you’re crazy. You won a Grammy. Cardi, all your songs are charting.’
“[With] everybody saying I’m not this or that,” she continued, “sometimes I gotta see it and feel it for myself because it’s hard. Everybody always wants to say I made it because of this or made it because of that. I made it because I worked my ass off… Thank you very much, ASCAP. This is an honor for me.”
During a brief red carpet interview with Variety magazine, the songwriter-turned-singer talked about how she found out Cardi B was expecting before the “Bodak Yellow” singer had announced the news to the world and how it motivated the then-future mom.
She said: “I started as a writer, then ventured into being an artist,” she said. “It’s really important what [ASCAP] does for people, honoring them in a way they don’t normally get honored. A lot of the behind-the-scenes people get their money and they’re cool with it, but then they’re like, ‘Dang, it’d be nice sometimes to get some love really for the art of what I do.’”She also recalled a fun memory of the “Ring” video shoot. “I kind of had the idea that she [Cardi] was pregnant — but not knowing,” she remembered with a laugh. “Then seeing this cute little tiny baby bump peeking through, and taking a little woman note in my head like, ‘Congratulations, girl!’”
Another Bumpwatch alum, Beyonce, also won for co-writing “Apeshit” with her husband and Cardi’s on/off hubby Offset and his fellow Migos group member, Quavo.
Third-time mom-to-be’s Jenna Bush Hager wore a crimson cape dress to the CFDA Fashion Awards that concealed her bump. She said the outfit got mixed reviews but her two daughters loved it.
Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum Jennifer Lopez showed off her rock hard six pack in an orange custom Ralph Lauren crop top layered with 43,200 crystals and matching floor length skirt on the red carpet and on stage when she received her fashion icon award.
CFDA Chairwoman, Diane von Furstenberg said JLo was a no brainer when it came to picking her for the award.
“Jennifer Lopez uses clothes as a way to express confidence and power,” the designer said. “Both designers and fans look forward to her fashion statements.”
Steven Kolb, President and CEO of the CFDA, added, “Jennifer Lopez’s style is bold, uninhibited, and always memorable. Designers, including many of our CFDA Members, love to dress her for both stage and private moments.”
Lopez joins past recipient that include: Rihanna, Beyoncé, Naomi Campbell, Pharrell Williams, and Johnny Depp.
Also, Lily Aldridge, another bumpwatch alum looked sizzling hot in a classic and elegant crimson red gown by Brandon Maxwell.
The 20-year tradition of having toddlers race to the finish in an annual baby crawl race went down in Lithuania this past Saturday, June 1 in the capital of Vilnius.
About 25 babies participated and crawled down a 16.4 foot red carpet, according to Reuters.
The contestants ranged in ages from 7 months to 1 year. Their parents were at the finish line, luring their kid to the end with treats, toys and balloons, as seen in video (above) of the event.
While researching for this post, I noticed Hawaii had one earlier this month as well. Here is the Eventbrite registration info! Too fun!
This blog covers the celeb lifestyle and red carpets, and Privatte jet travel, which believe it or not, is becoming more accessible to the general public.
Through Uber-like services and competitive rates, more people than ever before can experience the convenience, comfort, and luxury of taking off on a jet plane to destinations either near or far for business and pleasure.
While your experience chartering your “own” course with a private service will be nothing to sneeze at, the owners of these private jets are taking the term “luxurious’’ to a whole new stratosphere.
Let’s take a private look inside six of the most luxurious private jets
Boeing 747-8 VIP jet
Is it rude to have a better
plane than the President of the United States?
Despite the original $367
million price tag, the owner of a Boeing 747-8 VIP jet added
another $200 million in amenities to create the equivalent of a mansion in the
sky.
No worries, as the Gulfstream G650ER with
its humble price tag of just $66.5 million is perfect for those small group
jetaways of 8 passengers or less.
With a palatial dining room,
big screen televisions throughout and a “master suite with magnificent views of
the changing sky,” flying in the current Air Force One model may seem like a
step down to a low-rent district in aviation.
There were similar feelings with the powers that be. With plans to retire the two Boeing 747-200s that are the current Presidential ride, the 747-8’s are next in line. However, taxpayers should not collectively clutch their chests and wallets. The Air Force saved significantly on costs by buying the jets from the bankrupt Russian airline Transaero.
2. Gulfstream G650E
Perhaps being the owner of
a $500 million private jet that when flown commercially can accommodate 467
passengers is a little over the top for your modest needs.
Flying at a maximum speed of Mach 0.90, this flagship of the Gulfstream fleet can take you from Los Angeles to Geneva in 10.5 hours. That’s about three hours faster than a commercial flight! But unlike a commercial flight, you can use a smartphone app to control your custom cabin.
3. Pilatus PC-24
Considered to be one of the
world’s best private jets, the Pilatus PC-24 is the
epitome of both versatility and comfort.
Often referred to as the
“penthouse of the skies,” this little jewel’s price tag of $8.9 million is, in
comparison to the other jets on our list, hardly a king or queen’s ransom. As
the world’s first Super Versatile Jet, it is in a class of its own and is able
to land on short dirt runways as easily as it does on the strips of airports
such as O’Hare or Heathrow.
The flexibility also means that you have an additional 880 airports in which you can touch down, meaning that convenience and luxury are not mutually exclusive.
4. Airbus 380
From a Turkish bath to a
concert hall with a grand piano, we once again up our game to the Airbus 380
that was once owned by Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal al-Saud. Just as an
aside, when the Prince decided to sell his jet in 2013, it was reported that he
used the proceeds to “expand his investments in Saudi Arabia and the Middle
East.”
Now you may be wondering
how one can fit a concert hall into a private plane? The A380 commercial model
can accommodate up to 800 passengers. Due to the aircraft failing to gain
sustainable traction within the commercial industry, production will cease in
2021. Fortunately for the A380, it is becoming a favorite for private owners.
Given its size – it is hailed as being the largest commercial airplane ever built and is an interior designer’s dream for any client with a princely purse.
5. Boeing 787 Dream Jet
The Boeing 787 Dream Jet is the
pinnacle of luxury and exclusivity. At a cost of $70,000 an hour to rent, you
can see why some use the word “exclusive” when talking about this private jet.
Part of its appeal, beyond
its 20 hours of uninterrupted flying time, is its spacious dining rooms and
sleeping quarters which are more reminiscent of a luxury cruise liner than an
airplane. Now we know where the saying, “it’s the only way to fly” originated.
6. Bombardier Global 7500
Learjet, a Canadian company, was the very first aircraft manufacturer to build private jets. The first Learjet took-off in 1963, and while the competition has become fierce since those early days, the company now owned by Bombardier is still a brand to be reckoned with.
If we are talking about
luxury, the master bedroom is so fancy it is worthy of its, “stateroom”
moniker. The fact that there are quarters for the crew too means that your
private jet is truly “private.”
Air Style
They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder so choosing the six
most luxurious jets in the world today is no easy task.
These jets take into account the diverse tastes and requirements of the most discriminating of travelers to give you a glimpse into how the world’s rich and famous traverse the globe.
