Democratic strategist and consultant Hilary Rosen went on CNN Wednesday night and exclaimed that US Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney was in error to rely on his wife’s opinion on the needs of women and economics because Ann Romney has “never worked a day” in her life. As a result, Ann Romney opened up a Twitter account Thursday night and tweeted “I made a choice to stay home and raise five boys. Believe me, it was hard work.”
Since then, several key Democrats including the president’s reelection campaign manager Jim Messina went on record upholding the value of stay-at-home moms. Still others say the point is that Mitt should talk to other women and not just his wife and Rosen has come back to say she may have misspoke but the point remains that Mitt doesn’t truly understand the needs of today’s modern working women.
Tonight, on my Blog Talk Radio show, Right of Black, I will debate with my co-host defending the side of Ann and other stay at home moms. My co-host Shanon will argue Rosen’s side.
Really, she created an account just to get in a Twitter beef. Gotta respect that.
