Melancholy songstress Dido announced on her blog on February 6, 2011 that she and her husband were expecting a baby and that she would not be able to travel to Los Angeles to attend the Academy Awards. She and musician A.R. Rahman were up for an Oscar for their collaboration on the song “If I Rise” for the film 127 Days.
“Me and my husband rohan are expecting a baby and we’re beyond happy and excited about it,” Dido wrote.

Since then, she has given interviews to UK and US press and was last quoted saying she was anxious to find out what the sex of her baby was but that she and her Rohan decided to wait until delivery day this past summer.
“I’m too curious,” People magazine quotes the singer-songwriter telling the Associated Press . “It’s enough of a surprise on the day.”
One of the last photos she shared on her Twitter account which has been active since May 2009 was of her and ARR during the video shoot for the song (see above).
The account was updated once each month since March with the last tweet on October 12 being about a friend’s album release. It is unclear whether that is Dido or the person from her team who also tweets updates from that account. Her Facebook Fan page, which boasts over 1 million fans, has not been updated independently of the updates she tweets that automatically post there. There are messages from fans saying they miss her and asking if she has delivered her baby. Others have been expressing concern over the absence of news.
A thorough search on Google, Bing, Ask.com, Yahoo revealed no news about the birth nor any images of her being pregnant even.
The conclusion is that she has been able to stay out of the limelight this entire pregnancy and we’re hoping and praying all is well with her and she is away getting her private time bonding with her new baby.
A call to her reps is probably in order.
Thinking of you Dido and we can’t wait to hear from you soon! Praying all is well!
