Los Angeles-based Center for Genetics and Society published a lengthy article and in-depth about the future of in vitro fertilization and Eugenics, the science and belief of perfecting human beings. The article delves into the history of in vitro and tracks it to current requests from parents getting in vitro treatments for scientist to use genetics-based advancements and research to help them screen for abnormalities and in some cases alter the cells of the embryo to produce a genetically more superior embryo. There’s even a discussion about how it could be possible that all babies in the future are conceived in a lab to be free of disease.
Gattaca and endless other sci-fi movies about bred super humans controlling the world popped in my head.
