Recently, two of our mom reader reviewers tested out Tia and Tamera‘s new milk lactation shot Milky: a new mom to 3-month old fraternal twins, Wes, who has been dealing with milk flow problems and another mom to a singleton.
“Milky tasted better than I expected it to,” admitted reader Janel from Washington who is mom to a one-month old baby. “It was easy to drink and it was very convenient in that I only had to take it twice a day.”
Janel said she thought the shot was pleasant and enjoyed it as an alternative to traditional fenugreek pills and supplements, a welcome change from the regular regimen.
Neither experienced tremendous additional milk production using the shot compared to before when they just took the supplements or tea they took before.
Wes from Chicago, for example, said after 4 days she saw an increase of about 10 millimeters in her total production per pump but no more.
Also, unlike Janel, Wes didn’t enjoy the taste of the shot at all but desperate for more milk for her twins decided to add it to water, heat it up and drink it as tea. Doh!
The point of the shot was to be another option to tea.
At $29.99 for a box of 6 that could be considered cost-prohibitive for some women when compared to a box of fenugreek tea which cost from $5 to $10.
But every mom is different. It appears some of the women on the product’s Facebook page have had positive results.
So there you have it: Mixed results! You can decide for yourself.
You can purchase the shot at Destination Maternity, A Pea in the Pod and Motherhood Maternity locations nationwide and on the Twins’ Need Brands website.
