Is it too soon to criticize?
MTV‘s Teen Mom 2 star Janelle Evans got arrested over the weekend after getting in a domestic dispute with her boyfriend Nathan Griffith in her home and then proceeding to curse loudly in public after police were called and tried to resolve the situation. Evans just last week confirmed that she and Griffith were pregnant with their first child together.
When police could not calm Evans down, they ended up arresting her and taking her to North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina police station. She was booked at 5pm and released on bail about an hour later. (pashaw! That’s a record time! Clearly, her celebrity status played a hand in the quick turn around/release)
Evans is already on probation for an earlier arrest for heroine possession. This is the 6th time the almost 22-year old reality -TV cast member has been arrested in a few years.
Hopefully, the mom of 3- year old son Jace with ex- Andrew Lewis, will find some help and get on the straight and narrow.
But it’s not looking good. She is still technically still married to her ex-husband, Courtland Rodgers who she married in December 2012, only to split with in January 2013, but not after first getting pregnant and sadly suffering a miscarriage.
Sounds like she may need to get some help and any payments or residuals she receives from having the MTV cameras film her life may be used to fund some bad and destructive habits. At this rate, it looks like it’s only a matter of time before the network becomes complicit in something horrible than what has already transpired in this young woman’s life.
She seems to need therapy, guidance and support, not fame, money and exploitation.
The show follows some of the girls who starred in the MTV docu-series 16 and Pregnant. The show has been accused in the past of glorifying teen pregnancy, although it has also been credited with deterring teen pregnancy. Each of the “stars” are shown struggling to balance life, being young still, and relationships with their respective kid(s)’ father.
