Expecting Twins: Terricka and Post-Vasectomy Antonio Cromartie, the most Fertile Man on the Earth (CAUTION: Shade-Filled Post Ahead)

cromartie

We’re going to go on a limb and say it. NFL player Antonio Cromartie has got to be the most fertile man on the earth because even after reportedly undergoing a vasectomy, he managed to impregnate his wife with twins who will become his 11th and 12th child….again.

Stick with us a little here.

Back in April 2012, Cromartie’s wife Terricka Cromartie (nee Cason) tweeted that she and Antonio were expecting twins that November 2012.

“Without the lies i’ll tell u anything u want to kno just ask me.. I”ve always been an up front person.. Oh yea we are expecting twins in Nov,” Terricka wrote in a tweet announcing the twins’ due date.  That tweet too has since been deleted.

We reported it and so did other outlets like NecoleBitchie (now xoNecole) . The news was picked up by the New York Daily News and the NY Post who linked to the Instagram image of a sonogram of the twins that Terricka posted. (now deleted).

She accepted congratulations about the twins and even tweeted “Twins run in my family.” (tweets since been deleted)

She never delivered twins in 2012.

But then, this past October, Terricka told US Weekly that again she and the New York Jets cornerback are expecting twins but she added that she was surprised to learn she was expecting because her sportsman hubby had a vasectomy in 2011.

“I really thought I was dreaming, even after, I was just in total disbelief,” she told Us about a trip to the emergency one night over what she thought was severe cramping. “I didn’t even tell Antonio right away because I didn’t think it was possible…I was going back and forth in my head how it could even happen. In my head we were good to go, we were having free sex! I just really thought that his procedure was the best protection you could have at this point.”

Terricka told the magazine that Antonio too was shocked.

“Originally, he was like, ‘Oh, s–t! Are you serious? How did this happen?'” Terricka said. “It was shocking news for the both of us. It took me a while to process it, but Antonio stood firm and was saying, ‘It’s God’s will.’ And he’s been excited the whole time.”

Well…hmmm. If he got her pregnant with twins in 2012, then neither of them should be too surprised Antonio did it again 3 years later. scratches head

In all seriousness, however, condolences may be in order here if Terricka perhaps lost the babies (or baby) due in November 2012. The tweet was made perhaps at the 8-10 week point in her pregnancy, at that critical point during pregnancies when miscarriage is common.

It has been a bumpy road for the couple because the NY Post reported when Terricka was 7-months pregnant with their second child, she sent Antonio fake suicide texts leading him to call 911 emergency paramedics who arrived to find Terricka fine in bed with her daughters. She later confessed to officers that she did it to get attention of Antonio who she suspected was cheating at the time and submitted to an involuntary psych eval.

But still, back to this pregnancy, what are the odds really, though, of getting pregnant with twins twice by a man who had a vasectomy? That’s got to be a medical miracle…or someone botched his procedure (or someone maybe isn’t being honest).

According to WebMD, a vasectomy is an 99.85% effective birth control method. Only one to two women out of 1,000 will have an unplanned pregnancy in the first year after their partner has had a vasectomy, the site said.

Terricka later tweeted (now deleted) that she was not expecting twins and perhaps set up the media with a bogus claim Larry Brown Sports suggested in 2012, or not. Who knows.

Nonetheless, Terricka considers this miracle pregnancy a blessing.

“To be honest, I’ve gone back and forth about if I wanted to share the news or not,” she told the gossip magazine. “All my children are blessings and all of Antonio’s children are blessings, for that matter. It was made to seem that my children weren’t a blessing because they were categorized by a number, and for that reason and that reason alone, I hid both of my [first two] pregnancies with my husband, just so I could enjoy them with those who were really happy for me.”

terricka and cromartie

This will be the 4th and 5th child for the couple, together. They are parents to 3-year old son Jagger and 5-year old daughter Jurzie (love that name!).

Terricka has a daughter, Jordynn, from a previous relationship. Cromartie has 8 children from 8 previous relationships.

The NY Post created this Graphic in 2012 that Terricka has says is wrong.

Facts only:

After famously dissing the 8 baby mamas for trying to make money by doing a reality TV about blended families and how all 8 women and their children get along well and have a great relationship, Terricka is now leading the new reality TV show she and Antonio are shooting which will launchpad off their book about blended families the couple is working on, US Weekly reports.

slow blink

Recall, the reality show the baby mamas were trying to do could not be greenlit because Antonio refused to grant permission for his children to be featured in it.

CDC: Do Not Travel to These 13 Countries if You’re Pregnant

World In Your Hands Concept Map

If you are pregnant or think you may be, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has just issued a travel alert warning pregnant women to avoid 13 countries in the Americas currently experiencing outbreak of a mosquito-born virus, Zika, that is in linked to an epidemic of birth defects in Brazil.

In the past few months in Brazil, there has been a report of over 3,500 cases of microcephaly, a rare birth defect, compared to the normal 100-200 cases revealed in that massive South American country each year. Some of the babies have died.

For that reason, the CDC issued a travel alert Friday evening, warning people about the risk and suggesting that pregnant women, in particular, avoid Brazil and twelve other nations in the Americas that have had high cases, according to  the Pan American Health Organization: Colombia, El Salvador, French Guiana, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Martinique, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Suriname and Venezuela

The CDC said women who cannot avoid traveling should consult their doctors and take steps to avoid mosquito bites, such as wearing long sleeves and pants. Women thinking of becoming pregnant should also consult their doctors before traveling to outbreak zones.

For the US, only the property of Puerto Rico has had a reported case, its first of Zika in December. The case was diagnosed in someone who had not traveled outside of Puerto Rico, suggesting that Zika is spreading there.

The symptoms of the virus are mild but the link to birth -defect makes it more serious.

Brazil also has reported dozens of cases of Guillain-Barre syndrome, a rare immune system disorder that can cause temporary paralysis, that appear related to Zika virus.

Yikes! Be careful, TTC moms and moms-to-be!

Eco Friday: Made From Earth Skin Line is All Natural Goodness (REVIEW)

JJ Ghatt jjghatt • Instagram photos and videos

With the winter months come dry, cracked skin, and added need for a moisturizer.

If you are interested in maintaining balance in your face, hands, lips and neck these colder days, while still keeping it all natural, a good bet is the products sold by Made from Earth. Back in the fall, the makers were generous enough to send me some of their wonderful products. They’ve been a God send and I’ve incorporated them all into my daily and weekly cleansing, toning and moisturizing ritual.

At least twice a week, I cleanse my skin with the grapefruit glycolic wash ($29.99) to keep the break outs away.  It’s been working because before, during the warmer months, I was getting pimples regularly.

Also, daily, I moisturize my face and neck with the vitamin c moisturizer. ($36.00)  The organic ingredients and vitamin c are defenses against the sun as well. To keep to my skin tight, I’ve been having success with the vitamin enhanced face firming serum (44.99) . It goes on non-greasy and dries quickly.  On some days, I’ve gone with the vitamin enhanced moisturizer  ($74.55) which has anti-aging properties that I can appreciate given I’m like most women out here fighting the effects of getting older.

Because I am always reading or working on a computer for long periods of time, my eyes get tired often. For five days at a time stretches, I’ve dabbed on some of the chamomile eye therapy cream ($22.95) around my eyes each morning after washing my face. The 5-day regimen does a great job to pick me up and I think it has collagen in it to firm up that area! Good for combating crow’s feet!

I also dig the Cucumber Cooling Gel ($13.49) and wear it regularly because it leaves my face refreshed. It’s also cool that it too has a toning property, and fights against sun damage and bags under the eyes. Good stuff.

Before applying make up, I spray on the skin correcting toner ($17.00). It is tingly and leaves my face feeling refreshed. I love the apricot scent it has too.

Finally, I keep the blueberry lip balm ($4.99) in my purse to moisturizer my lips and keep them from getting chapped. Sometimes I use the beeswax butter balm ($18.99) as a back up but it’s a bit greasy for the lips. Not my fave.

All of the ingredients, according to the makers, are organic, paraben free, eco-friendly and environmentally-conscious in ingredients, testing and manufacture!

Nice! If you’re looking for earth-friendly beauty products check out Made From Earth on its website!

STUDY: There’s a Potatoes and Gestational Diabetes in Pregnancy Link

food-summer-party-dinner-large

Women who eat lots of potatoes before pregnancy appear more likely to develop gestational diabetes, a new study suggests.

A woman’s risk of gestational diabetes seemed to increase by 27 percent if she regularly consumed between two and four cups of potatoes a week before pregnancy. Five or more cups a week appeared to increase risk by 50 percent, even after researchers accounted for pre-pregnancy obesity and other potential risk factors, the study found.

“The more women consumed potatoes, the greater risk they had for gestational diabetes,” said senior author Dr. Cuilin Zhang, a senior investigator with the U.S. National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. “Potatoes are regarded as a kind of vegetable, but not all vegetables are healthy.”

However, it’s important to note that this study only showed an association between potato consumption and the risk of gestational diabetes—a type of diabetes that develops during pregnancy. The study wasn’t designed to prove cause-and-effect.

Findings from the study were released online Jan. 12 in the BMJ.

If Hillary Wins, We Expect Her Right-Hand Aide Huma Abedin to Bring it…Fashion Wise, that is ( LOOK!)

huma look

Thursday night was the 6th Republican Presidential Debate. I couldn’t watch it because  I was working, but while doing some preliminary reading about it,  I did notice that Vanity Fair did a piece on a political Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum recently.  No, not currently preggers Chelsea Clinton, but her mom Hillary Clinton’s longtime aide, Huma Abedin.

huma6

In his piece writer William Cohan asks whether Abedin, who is married to former New York rep Anthony Weiner, will be an asset or hindrance to the former Secretary of State’s campaign to become the next president of the United States.

huma 2

Cohan explores how Abedin is so good at her job that she is indispensable and was able to survive the scandal of her husband being disgraced after revelation about inappropriate social media exchanges with young women. She is the ultimate DC VIP.

huma 4
I’m not sure Hillary could walk out the door without Huma,” Cohan quotes Clinton adviser Mandy Grunwald, who told Vogue’s Rebecca Johnson eight years ago that Abedin is “a little like Radar on MASH. If the air-conditioning is too cold, Huma is there with the shawl. She’s always thinking three steps ahead of Hillary.”

It was an interesting piece that you can read HERE if you want to learn more.

the-veterans-w724

Abedin is featured in a Glamour feature on the women behind the 2016 Presidential campaigns

I’m just using the opportunity to revisit the statuesque and very fashionable Washington insider for the sole purpose of showcasing again that fab spread Vogue did on her back in 2007 before giving birth to her first and only child, a son, 4-years ago. Remember this:

Fab!

huma 3

If Clinton does in fact win, Abedin may also survive the extra scrutiny that comes with being the right hand to a party nominee. (She had to testify in the Benghazi hearings  last fall and was previously accused as having ties to the controversial Muslim Brotherhood).

She’s set to become the second most important woman in the world. She would be  like Valerie Jarrett to President Barack Obama.

Anyway, fashion-wise, we expect her to bring it.  We’re here for it. All of it!

The 7 Tips You Need to Read Before Going Back to School After Having a Baby

You don’t have to let the fact that you had a baby before or in the middle of college deter you from returning or starting. Despite all the obstacles and challenges associated with returning to school after a baby, if you put in a plan, you certainly can do it and findAnanny.com wants you to use these beneficial suggestions to get it done.

1. Build a Support System – The most important thing for a student mom to have in place is a strong and reliable support system. Not only will you need help with childcare and managing the needs of your new baby while keeping up with your studies, you’ll also need a shoulder or two you can cry on when things get difficult. Finishing school as a parent will be a challenge, and having a few people in your corner can make all the difference.

2. Create a Routine That Works For Your Family – There is no hard-and-fast rule about how you have to structure your household routine, especially when your little one is still an infant. Find a schedule that works for you and build around it. If online classes are more conducive to learning and completing assignments than a traditional classroom setting, that’s the best solution for you. On the other hand, getting out of the house and interacting with your classmates may help you manage the demands of parenthood more easily. Whatever works for you is the best solution, regardless of how well it would work for someone else

3. Set Realistic Goals -You may have planned to take on a full course load before your pregnancy, but that may not be realistic after the birth of a child. Rather than setting goals that aren’t feasible and being disappointed when they prove to be a bit more than you’re ready to handle, take your time and make a plan that you can actually adhere to. Celebrate each milestone along the way and stay focused on each smaller goal as they approach

4. Work Out a Reasonable Timeline- Finishing school on the standard time table may be out of the cards for you as a new mom, and that’s okay. The goal is to finish, so take the time to figure out when you can realistically complete your studies. You may have to shoulder a lighter burden in terms of classes and finish later than some of your peers, but you’ll still leave with a diploma, which is better than trying to take on too much only to end up burned out and frustrated enough to quit school altogether. You may also have ideas of returning to school days after the birth of your child, however, that may not be possible. Finding the right time to return to school after you recover from delivery and have bonded with your new baby may be a bit more complicated than simply returning as soon as you’re discharged from the hospital.

5. Find a Caregiver You Trust – Your child will have to be cared for while you’re at school since you won’t be able to take her to class with you. To make the transition into school after becoming a new parent, you’ll need to make sure that you’ve found a childcare provider you absolutely trust and have no qualms about leaving her with. If you’re distracted and worried about your child’s safety while you’re in class, your academic performance probably won’t reflect your actual abilities.

6. Prepare for a Bit of Separation Anxiety -Regardless of how excited you are to get back into school after your maternity leave ends, you will feel at least a little bit of separation anxiety until you adjust to the idea of no longer spending the entirety of each day with the fascinating little person you’ve created. If you’re prepared for the stress of leaving your child in someone else’s care and understand that it’s just temporary, it can lessen the sting and help to make that pain a bit more manageable.

7. Don’t Be Scared to Adjust Your Schedule – As a new mom and a student, your schedule may have to be adjusted a few times until you find the one that works for you. Making adjustments is not the same as admitting defeat, so don’t be afraid to finagle things until you find the methods that work best for you and your new family.

What do you Think about MTV launching a New Teen Mom in the UK?

teen-mom

MTV is taking its hit show Teen Mom across the pond. The music cable network, known more for its revolutionary and break-thru reality Television shows, announced that it will launch its Brit version in Autumn 2016.

“We’ll use this expertise to give Teen Mom a fresh lease of life, combined with a unique British twist, which we’re confident will have massive appeal to local audiences,” MTV UK‘s Jill Offman said.  “MTV UK has a great track record of re-versioning hit shows from our sister channel in the U.S. – we turned Jersey Shore into Geordie Shore and smashed ratings records in the process.”

There have been 12 seasons of Teen Mom, which started as a short run docu-series called 16 and Pregnant, and it has spun off several celebrities: Farrah Abraham,  Jenelle Evans, Caitlynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra, Amber Portwood, Maci Bookout and Leah Messer.

If you’re biggest star from the show is beefing with Nicki Minaj, that’s winning, um…we guess. (snark)

And MTV is asking for Brit teen moms to apply. Oh boy!

What do you think? Excited? Bad idea?

Remembering Amber Hagerman on the 20th Anniversary of the ‘Amber Alert’ System

amber hagerman

Yesterday was the 20th anniversary of the creation of the Amber Alert system which is credited for helping to safely find over 800 abducted children since its inception.

The alert system is named for a little 9-year old Dallas, Texas girl Amber Hagerman, who was kidnapped while riding her bike outside an abandoned Winn-Dixie grocery store parking lot and later found dead in a drain.

At the time of her abduction, there was no statewide or nationwide system in place to alert law enforcement and the public in general to be on the look out for clues to help locate lost and abducted children. Following Amber’s death, her parents worked with lawmakers and child advocates to get the system in place.

When a missing child case is selected to become an Amber alert, the alerts interrupt regular programming and are broadcast on radio and television and Department of Transportation highway signs.

Sadly, Amber’s murder remains unsolved, but we are happy that her legacy can live on in the name of the 800 children who have been discovered and reunited with their loved ones after being taken or lost.

amber hagerman 2

Rest in peace, Amber.
