The Expensive Ways Celebrities Prepare For a New Baby

For most people, the glamorous life is a fantasy and something some aspire to attain. It’s why we love celebrities and high profile people.

It’s why shows like Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous and more recently, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and half of the Bravo TV line up do so well.

If we were to be totally engaged with that lifestyle, here is one of the ways we would make our 2020 amazing.

Get Extravagant PUSH presents like Sports Cars

One of the best ways that you can make your 2020 more glamorous if you are a celebrity is to invest your money in a new sports car. Travis Scott famously gifted his ex Kylie Jenner a $1.4M Ferrari after she welcomed the couple’s first child together, Stormi Webster.

Take Luxury Babymoons

Us peons may take a Babymoon to Miami to get away before baby arrives.

Celebrities have access to more luxurious locales. Ciara who is expecting her third child, but second with her husband Russell Wilson announced the news while chilling on a rock in Turks and Caicos.

They just whip out their list of some of the most glamorous destinations that you can visit and close their eyes and pick!

Start a Maternity Fashion Line

When we get pregnant and can find something chic to wear, we hold on to our non maternity clothes for as long as we can before having to break out the overalls and succumb to the belly. Celebrity women just call up a few sponsors and brands and start an entire fashion line. Several famous women like Heidi Klum, Victoria Beckham and Jessica launched maternity fashion lines while expecting.

If we wanted to emulate that sort of extravagance we would have to do stuff like hit the vintage shops or sell our old clothes on sites like Depop

Buy New Homes for Baby

When baby makes three, the average new family convert the old study into a nursery or clean out the spare room. Stars purchase a larger home to accommodate the nanny and extra staff that will be on board to help them navigate parenthood.

To prepare for the arrival of their first child together, Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis upgraded their home and purchased a $10M 3 bedroom, 4 bath Beverly Hills home to accommodate their growing family, according to US Weekly. They aren’t the only ones.

Purchase the Most Expensive Crib

Finally, while the rest of us are scouring sale ads and stalking Groupon for deals on strollers and car seats, celebs like Beyonce splurge on high price top of the line products like purchasing a $3,500 lucite crib for her first child Blue Ivy.

And not just cribs, these high paid figures can afford to get the most expensive car seat, designer new born clothing and more. It’s part of the perk of being wealthy.

In the meantime, we gawk and point and admire from our computer screens.

Decade in Review: 10 Celeb Parenting Trends That Are Now Outdated

Having covered celebrity pregnancy, parenting and the “bump watch” for over a decade, I pride myself in being an institutional memory of the trends in this space.

As we close out on another decade, I’ve identified 10 trends that have come and gone from the past decade, including old ones that have faded out of style over time and new ones spearheaded by the recent popularity and usage of social media.

Let’s start with the trends that are

Outdated and going bye bye:

10. Million Dollar Deals for First Baby Photos

In 2007, Julia Roberts reportedly was the first celebrity to demand a six figure payday ($250,000) from PEOPLE magazine to get the rights to publish the first photos of her twins Phinnaeus and Hazel. OK magazine got a steal and paid merely a little over a half a million for pics of Gwen Stefanie’s 2 week old son, Kingston. OK Magazine lost their $2 million dollar bid for Britney Spear and Kevin Federline’s first baby pic to People magazine. Nicole Richie reportedly received $1M for her photo of son, Max and Christina Aguilera for her son.

With magazines, along with newspapers, losing tons of revenue as people start to rely on digital forms of media for news and information, it no longer made business sense to pay these astronomical amounts of money.

Also, with the advent of social media and more conscious celeb couples publishing their babies on Instagram for free, the less famous personalities who used to shop for first photo deals found there was no longer a market for them.

9. Pregnant Nude Covers

After Demi Moore posed on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine in 1991, it became a thing for stars to do the same.  Since then, Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Nia Long and many more graced covers in the buff while expecting.

Soon, it became more of a quick and easy way to get publicity and attention, and eventually the public interest in them waned.

The last big photo issue was of Alanis Morissette in 2016. She did an undercover water shoot but the naked baby bump photo thing is more or less passe and not a public rosy stunt many will do.

8. The Celebrity Bounce Back

Around the same time that gossip magazines started to cover celebrity parents, we saw a lot of photos about the “bounce back”. It was as if it was a competition to see who could pop up slim and trim months or even weeks after baby.

It was ridiculous for several reasons: 1) a lot of the covers were photoshopped; 2) some of the celebs either genetically were predisposed to lose weight fast or underwent surgical procedures to quickly trim down after baby; 3) it set up a dangerous standard given that a lot of celebs have private chefs and trainers to help them lose weight fast; and 4) it sent a damaging message to women who should be concerned with safely healing from delivery and focusing on nursing and connecting with their newborns.

In any event, those magazine covers are not as common as before. In fact, a bunch of celebrity women like Chrissy Teigen, Blake Livey, Mila Kunis and others have spoken out about the ridiculous expectations on them to return to their pre-pregnancy form after baby.

The industry has gotten the message and do not sensationalize the bounce back as much as before.

7. Sponsored Baby Showers

Once upon a time, celebrities were approached by companies and brand representatives to host a baby shower for them in exchange for promotion of their products. The companies knew there were tons of promotions that came with the exposure.

Amazon.com sponsored Khloe Kardashian’s baby shower in 2018. Although the trend is dying out, over the past decade, Danielle Jonas and her husband Kevin celebrated a baby shower thrown by Fit Pregnancy magazine.

Also, Burt’s Bees was among the sponsors of Kourtney Kardashian’baby shower when she was pregnant with daughter Penelope. Similarly, Le Bebe CoCo  was among Kristin Cavallari‘s baby shower sponsors. Target hosted Beverley Mitchell’s baby shower. Several liquor companies provided the libations for cocktails served up at Love and Hip Hop’s  Yandy Smith‘s baby shower.

Jaime King enjoyed some fab brand goodies at her shower.  Ecoya‘s Sweet Pea & Jasmine home fragrance collection, a pink Quinny Buzz Special Edition stroller, a mamaRoo baby swing, a pink Hoppop Bath tub, a pink Little Giraffe Luxe Blanket, a Timi and Leslie diaper bag and a 5 ft. custom-made giraffe by Melissa and Doug all contributed to Victoria Beckham‘s baby shower.

Finally, Belly Bandit sponsored Jewel’s baby shower.

While this trend continues, audiences do not respond as favorable to them any longer and the comment section on sponsored baby showers are sometimes filled with negative commentary from fans who want less rich new parents to be showered with the gifts.

SOCIAL MEDIA DRIVEN

6. Hiding Children’s Face in Social Media

We famously were contacted by Stella McCartney’s reps over 10 years ago to remove paparazzi photos of her traveling with her children in the street posted on the blog. A few years later, Kristen Bell and husband Dax Shepard launched a campaign in 2014 to get a California state law passed to protect children of celebs from paparazzi. Others have done the same.

Eva Mendes and Kerry Washington do not show their kids in public or social media at all.

In the social media era, a few refuse to feature their children in social media or they hide their faces when they do: Zoe Saldana, Beyonce, brit star Rochelle Humes, Kylie Jenner  and Jenna Dewan all have done that in the past or continue to.

5. Celebrity Kids Instagram Accounts

On the flip side, several less famous stars realize the tremendous money making and marketing opportunities in giving their children their own account and branding their name and fame from birth.

It’s a pretty recent phenomenon, but starting with , DJ Khaled who launched an Instagram account  for his son Asadh in 2016 when Baby Khaled was just one month old, many celebs have created accounts for their kids as well.

Little  Asadh now has 1.8M followers, Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade‘s 1 year old daughter Kaavia James boasts 1M followers and Michael Phelps’ 3-year old son Boomer Phelps  now has 665K followers of his Instagram page.

I think the youngest baby to get an Insta was Cali Clay Shephard, daughter of model Chanel Iman and Sterling Shepard whose account was opened at just 16 days old.

This is a trend that is not getting old but is growing as more realize the revenue generating options that open up with having a massive engaged following.

4.  Hiding Pregnancy to Late Trimester

From my memory in covering this topic, I think that Kylie Jenner, Anna Kournokova and a few others did the best job at hiding their pregnancies for all 9 months. It’s pretty hard to hide from the paparazzi and shield their bump during events, filming and promoting a project.

But in 2011, Evangeline Lilly managed to almost completely disguise her entire pregnancy until papps found her in Hawaii while almost done gestating her first child. Jennifer Lopez and Adele managed to hide their respective pregnancies for over 5 months.

Given how common miscarriage is, a lot of women, whether a celebrity or not, wait until the latest time possible when they feel comfortable that they will be able to carry their baby to term to announce baby news.

Hiding an early pregnancy while building a career in front of the public is not easy to do as Cardi B learned but it can be done and the more private or celebs are learning from others how to do it.

3. Launch New Career/Re invigorate Career

Also during the height of the interest in celeb baby bumps, a lot of stars who were formerly very popular but whose fame had waned were able to reinvigorate their respective careers after having a baby.

For example, Kim Karadashian West once lamented that she saw a spike in paparazzi photos whenever she is expecting.

About 10 years ago, Mommyish published a gallery of celebrities who became more famous after becoming pregnant or becoming a mom.

It is not clear is the general public is as enamored with celebrity pregnancy as it once was before so a baby may not be the career boost as it was in the past.

2. Launch a Maternity or Parenting Related Brand

Tia and Tamera Mowry famously launched a breastfeeding brand called Milky after becoming parents for the first time.  Others like Jessica Simpson, Heidi Klum and Jessica Simpson, Heidi Klum launched maternity lines or added children clothing to their existing lines as with Stella McCartney and The Kardashians after they became a mom, respectively.

Instagram famous women shift their feeds and started featuring their babies and promoting parenting and motherhood related brands as part of their new post baby rebranding.

So at least in social media, a new baby can create opportunities.

1. Being Open and Honest about Miscarriage

Micarriage is a taboo among many families. It is unspoken and women who go through it suffer in silence or keep it a secret. It occurs more often than many would believe, yet women usually keep it a secret from family and friends. It certainly taints and colors one’s journey to motherhood, whether it happened in the early weeks or mid term. A woman will earnestly never be the same after suffering through one, especially she and her partner were planning for the baby they lost.

In recent years, a lot of celebrities have been open and transparent about having gone through a miscarriage.

And a lot more are being open and transparent about losses they’ve had in the past.

From many of the stars of BravoTV‘s Real Housewives of Atlanta to Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mithcell to Michelle Obama to Beyonce and Carrie Underwood and Gabrielle Union, openly sharing about a miscarriage or pregnancy loss is the thing to do.

Because of their influence, platform and reach, it’s awesome that these women are sharing their stories to help comfort and empathy for those who have endured it or may be unknowing about how common it is.

In the coming decade, let’s hope the trend of being relatable and real continue and we can leave behind those trends that created stress and anxiety among their followers behind.

Watch Every Episode of OITNB’s Danielle Brooks’ Netflix Family Pregnancy Web Series {Videos}

The gorgeous star of Orange Is the New Black Danielle Brooks might have welcomed her first child with her boyfriend Dennis on November 16, but fans of her Netflix family YouTube and web series “A Little Bit Pregnant” can still catch episodes of the video shorts she shot while in her final months of pregnancy

In each episode, Brooks interviews doulas, child birth experts and parents on what to expect when expecting and tackles topics from pregnancy cravings to pooping while pushing during labor! LOL!

It is unfiltered and I absolutely adore the bold sister locs and outfits she wears on the show. They are comfy yet stylish.  Brooks announced the news of the birth of her child via Instagram.

“11.16.19  ❤️♾❤️ She’s perfect,” Brooks captioned a black and white photo of her baby girl resting on her chest.  While she has been very secretive about her significant other, he starred in one of the shorts. See below the uploaded pics so far.

I also dug the various looks she wore during her pregnancy as shared in social media.

This moment is sacred. ? This moment is about birth and RE-birth. ? This moment is discovering new parts of myself that I never knew existed before. ? This moment is about gaining clarity on what I will or will not except so that when my daughter watches me, she is clear on who she is and what she believes. ? This moment is understanding what’s worth my energy and what is not. ? This moment is unapologetically leaning on those that truly understand the definition of family and friendship. ? This moment is about experiencing all that life has to offer me as a woman. I’m living and basking in the right now! R&B Singer and R&B Divas: Atlanta reality TV star Keke Wyatt is expecting baby number 10!

The Southern beauty announced the news on her Instagram account on Monday.

“My husband Zackariah Darring and I are so happy to announce that we are expecting our new bundle of joy!” she captioned a slide show featuring a series of maternity portraits starting with one of her in a floral decorated bathtub wearing a lace body suit, another of her in a blue and white sequinned gown and a pink lace dress.

“We are excited to welcome the 10th addition to our beautiful family,” then plugged her soon-to-be-released YouTube series about her life called The Keke Show.

“You will see me balancing wife, mommy and artist!!! Trust me… it’s never a dull moment with my family. Love ya sugars.”

This is the first child for Wyatt and Darring.

Wyatt has eight children with ex-husband Michael Ford and another child from her previous marriage to Rahmat Morton.

Wyatt and Morton got married when the singer was 18-years old and divorced in 2009.

Ravens’ RGIII Expecting 3rd Daughter, 2nd with Current Wife

It’s a belated congrats but I wanted to recognize the former quarterback star of my hometown Football Team, the Washington Redskins’, who is expecting a second child with his wife, Grete Šadeiko Griffin.

The couple shared the news this past May on Instagram in a post that included their 2-year old daughter Gloria in a “Big Sister” T-shirt.

“SURPRISE!!!!! My beautiful wife @gretegiii just keeps adding blessings to our family. Reese and Gloria have a new little sister on the way!!!!” the Baltimore Ravens star captioned his post. “Thank you baby for blessing us with this new baby girl coming our way in September.”

The new addition is expected to arrive in September and will be RGIII’s third little daughter because he also shares 3-year-old Reese Ann with his college sweetheart and his first wife, Rebecca Liddicoat.

The exciting news came just two months after the couple celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary.

It’s been a three year whirlwind.

Robert and Grete first started dating in the summer of 2016, got engaged a year later in May 2017 and welcomed Gloria in July before tying the knot last March 13, 2018 in a luxe wedding in Miami Florida.

After Grete delivered Gloria, the Heisman trophy winner praised her mom’s work to usher her into the world.

“Your mommy is incredible! The way she pushed through delivering you into the world was the stuff of legend,” he captioned a hospital photo. “Very simply put, Your mom is a certified baller!!!”

This week, Grete showed photo of herself and Gloria supporting their dad at training camp.

Sadly, he fractured his thumb bone on his throwing hand during training camp this week.

Slick Woods: Rihanna Spanked Her Into Labor; Doula Erykah Badu Delivered Baby

slick woods erykah badu and rihanna

Model Slick Woods was told after suffering two miscarriages in her youth that she would never have children, naturally, so she didn’t think she was pregnant when an agent told her she was looking chubby in her bikini at Coachella last year.

It turns out she was well into her third trimester!

In a feature for Vogue back in February, Woods wrote about her surprise pregnancy, and shared that after that exchange with her agent, she visited the doctor and learned the news.

“A few appointments later, a nurse was doing a sonogram,” she continued. “There he was: my son. I started crying tears of joy. I had life in me, and felt like I understood the true power of my body for the first time. If I could bring another human being into this world, nothing was out of reach.”

She eventually decided to get a doula and in and interview with Elle UK said why she picked singer Erykah Badu for the job. She had always loved the “Baduizm” singer’s profile as a mother.

“She’s a mommy role model. A mother I look up to, who kills her shit and is a boss-ass bitch,” Woods said of Badu.

A lot of people are now learning that Badu has brought a lot of babies in teh world. The neo soul queen talked about her doula life in a 2015 interview with Pitchfork.

“I became a doula by default,” Badu said at the time before opening up her own practice. “A home birth is about being able to create exactly what you want, because it’s such a violent moment inside of the body that you want everything else to be as beautiful as it can be. So I started studying to be a doula and got my certification in 2011 and now I’m in training to become a midwife. I’m almost there and before I know it I’ll be able to open my own practice, if that’s what I desire.”

And if that isn’t enough, singer, business mogul and actress Rihanna unknowingly helped usher Woods into labor.

By the time Woods was ready to give birth, she had already made news by walking in NYFW shows while pregnant.

She was walking for the Fenty X Puma collection and eventually had to be rushed to the hospital room to deliver her baby boy.

As Hip Hop Hollywood writes, it was in September 2018 when Woods was at the end of her pregnancy when she was modeling in one of Rihanna’s shows wearing what she describes as “pasties, thigh-highs, stilettos, and not much else,” when then 22-year-old went into labor.

“My last memory before going into the hospital is of Rihanna spanking me with a whip,” Woods recalled. “I was already 2cm dilated when I left the show, and I was in labor for another 18 hours.”

In that Vogue piece, Woods wrote about FaceTiming Badu during the birth, the only person there along with the father of her child and her agent.

Badu convinced her to return to the hospital after Woods had talked herself out of having an emergency hospital birth.

“Every day since, my son has healed me, invigorated me – and helped me come to terms with my past,” Woods says. “I never had a normal family. Now I’ve created my own. Who knew you could miss someone your whole damn life without ever having met them?”

Prom Season Survival Tips for Parents

couple prom

Prom season is right here and with that comes a lot of stress for your children. This dance is built up to be the perfect night and your children might become frustrated if everything does not go smoothly in the run-up. Here’s a quick guide on how to be a helpful parent in the run-up to prom.

Make a Game Plan

When everyone begins to plan prom, sit down with your children and find out what help they need with planning. Your children are very nearly adults, they may be about to go away to college, and they might not want Mommy holding their hand through this process. If that is the case, step back and allow them to come to you when they have a problem. Wading in, even with good intentions, can backfire and cause unnecessary arguments.

Help Source Outfits

If you have a daughter, trying to find prom dresses she likes can often be compared to trying to find a wedding dress. Looking online can be a great place to start. Check out  Jovani prom dresses for inspiration; your daughter might even find one she really likes here. You should also head to your local dress shop. The advantage of going here over ordering online is that these shops will keep a record of which dresses have been sold. This means that your daughter will be able to guarantee that no-one will turn up to prom in the same dress as her.

Keep on Top of the Details

Your children might be more focused on the dance itself, or their outfits, and they may forget some of the smaller details. They will have a rental to get to the venue, but how are they getting home? Dresses, hair, and makeup have been arranged but what about shoes and purses? These are some of the things which might be forgotten but they are a key part of the night. If you think your children have forgotten, gently remind them that they need to think about these too.

Why not get them a disposable camera to take along? Many people love the retro aesthetic of disposable cameras. Your child can take as many crisp and perfect selfies as they want with their smartphones but you just can’t beat some candid, in the moment shots like a disposable camera has.

Offer to Host Beforehand

Quite often your children and their friends will want to get together beforehand to take photos and get in the right mood for the celebrations. Offer to host this little gathering at your house, especially if you have a garden which would make a nice backdrop for photos. Put together a snack table and some fun little non-alcoholic mocktails for them to sip on before they go away. If they have a dinner as part of the evening, it is likely to be quite a wait away and they will be grateful for the snacks to keep them going. Organising a little get-together like this allows them to relax and enjoy the final run-up with their friends.

Arrange Destressing Activities

If your children have organised everything themselves, why not arrange a few destressing activities to help them relax before the big night? It could even tie into their prom preparations with a spa day. They could have a massage to unwind, a facial to get their faces baby-soft and ready for make-up application, and then finish up with a manicure and pedicure. Alternatively, you can just take them out of the prom preparation headspace entirely. Go to your favourite place together; whether that is a restaurant, a beach, a museum, or the cinema. Do something together which is completely unrelated to prom and it will hopefully help them to take their mind off everything they still need to prepare.

Remind Them It’s Supposed to Be Fun

Whether they are on the prom committee or just attending as a guest, there is a very real possibility that they might become too fixated on having the perfect prom. Take the opportunity to remind them that it is supposed to be fun. This is one of the last chances they will get to spend time with their high school friends before they all go their separate ways into college and adult life. They need to relax and have fun at prom.

It doesn’t matter how you support your child through prom season. No matter whether you end up making the calls to the car rental and hiring the dress or whether you sit back and let them arrange everything, there is plenty you can do to help them through the process. Find out what kind of support your child needs now and help them have the prom of their dreams.

8 Stresses About Raising Children Solo

Raising a kid is never easy; coping as a single mom is even harder. Looking after a kid alone without support can be emotionally exhausting, and single mothers are often overwhelmed by daily stressors, some to the extent of resenting their child. Parenting for single moms comes with a set of emotional challenges that can take a toll on their mental wellbeing. If left unattended, these issues could drive someone to depression, PTSD or anxiety disorders. Here are eight challenges single moms face and how to handle them.

Inadequate Self Care

When a father is not involved in bringing up a child, the mother is compelled to be a superwoman. After a long day at work, she is confronted by a pile of mommy duties at home, leaving little to no time for self-care. This implies that a spa day in a month is a pipe dream and fixing exercise time in her schedule is nearly impossible. In such circumstances, it would help to fix some me-time in the busy schedule forcefully; an hour a week is sufficient. During this time, a mom could write a journal or take a walk in a bid to reconnect with whom they were before they became parents.

Conflict with Baby Daddy

Dealing with separation or divorce is stressful enough without having to handle constant conflicts with the child’s father. Constant confrontations with an ex-lover are extremely unhealthy, and it could ultimately erode a mother’s mental health. Such conflicts are brought about by sensitive matters like finances and parenting methods. It’s not unusual to find a single mom facing constant manipulation and bullying from her ex, not to mention a violation of the divorce agreement. This includes withholding child support. Such challenges can be overcome through positive thinking. For instance, the mother can choose to view the father’s input in the child’s upbringing as useful ideas rather than fight triggers.

Financial Insecurity

Economic hardships and poverty can easily trigger stress and anxiety. As a consequence of loss of a partner or divorce, single moms often find themselves economically vulnerable. Even when working full time, minimum wages and multiple bills leave them below poverty levels. The ultimate solution to this challenge is living within one’s means. A mom should constantly remind herself that her priority is purchasing necessities like food. She ought to create a budget for the entire month, which will allow her to keep track of her income and spending. Also, exercising regularly will go a long way in making her feel less stressed.

Sleep Deprivation

A single mom is often plagued with multiple responsibilities, including housekeeping, laundry, studying and night shifts, which undermine her chances to get sufficient sleep. Despite their responsibilities in providing the necessities for their children, sleep time should never be compromised. Lack of enough sleep has seen many people dozing off at work, not to mention poor job presentation, lowered quality life, and emotional distress. Stress is a major cause of sleeplessness at night, which is where essential oils come in handy. Moms can use a device to disperse essences like lavender in the bedroom, which boasts fundamental relaxing effects for both the body and mind.

An Abusive Past

In modern society, the rate of domestic abuse and violence has reached insufferable levels.  A big number of moms are forced to leave their abusive marriage, and while this gives them peace, psychological trauma remains. The worst part is that most victims have no one to turn to; some have no idea where to start when looking for help. Without resources and support, a big number of single moms end up carrying a heavy emotional burden, which ultimately causes depression and post-traumatic stress disorder among other mental health challenges. It, therefore, helps to consult with a psychiatrist or join a support group after a breakup, which is especially true if the reasons for separation or divorce were violence related.

Stigma and Judgment

Poor judgments towards a single mother is not a strange phenomenon. This often emanates from fellow parents in a stable relationship, coworkers or even the child’s teacher. The daily assault in the form of negative comments and assumptions regarding their moral character and parenting skills is unfair and demoralizing. For those facing this challenge, they should connect with other single moms on social platforms in addition to practicing self-care.

Loneliness

This often occurs when the kids are away with the other parent. Getting used to the idea of being without the kids for a day or two is often a daunting task. Most single moms have experienced extreme emptiness like the air has been sucked out of the home when the children go visiting their dad for an entire weekend. The best solution for this situation is planning out the free time; a mom shouldn’t give herself a chance to get bored. She could, for instance, schedule night outs with friends singing karaoke or even go to dinner with a boyfriend.

Lack of Emotional Support

When a woman converts to single motherhood whether by choice or due to other compelling circumstances, her close friends and family might drift away. Her friends may find it hard adjusting to the reality of her new status, feel awkward and terminate the friendship. Others might choose the ex-husband’s side, which could serve a blow to her self-esteem.

Once a single mom is excluded from the community in which she previously thrived so well, she may end up feeling hopeless and alienated. The best thing to do when the old friends leave is to reach out for new ones. This includes joining book clubs, single mom support groups and church fellowships among other activities.

Finally

Single motherhood will often trigger a set of challenges that detrimentally affect one’s mental health. For a single mom, each day comes with multiple responsibilities and stressors, and finding consistent emotional support is not always easy. Even those whose family members are willing to offer a helping hand will often find such assistance inadequate. From dealing with baby daddy drama to handling financial insecurities, single moms don’t seem to catch a break.

Every single mom should be comforted by the fact that countless other mothers are grappling with the same issues. Thus they should not shy from seeking professional help. It’s also imperative to surround oneself with compassionate friends, family members and support groups in a bid to get creative solutions to everyday challenges. From the overwhelming responsibilities coupled with the stressors these mothers face on a daily basis, it’s evident that single moms are the modern day superheroes.
