A few celebrity women who became mothers for the first time over the past year celebrated their First Mother’s Day this Sunday!
Many of them or their partners took to Instgram and other forms of social media to share their joy at being able to partake in the annual holiday in the United States paying homage to mom!
The entrepreneur and reality TV star announced the news on her Instagram page. “WELCOME TO THE WORLD ELIJAH!!! ❤4/27/20❤” she captioned a post delivery photo of herself giving her newborn skin-to-skin kangaroo love.
“Very happy to report that last night Golnesa Gharachedaghi gave birth to Elijah Javad Gharachedaghi,” her rep told Entertainment Tonight. “The baby arrived last night in Los Angeles at 8:50 p.m., 6.5 pounds, 19.5 inches.”
The rep added: “Everyone is doing great and Golnesa is beyond excited to be a mom and start this new adventure.” The feisty petite 38-year old was very open about welcoming her first child via in vitro fertlization and a sperm donor. She has stated in that past that though having a baby solo is frowned up on in her Persian culture, she had wanted a baby all her life and was not going to let old traditions get in the way of her dream.
On the Bravo show Watch What Happens Live, the Wüsah owner and cannabis entrepreneur told host Andy Cohen that while she’s had a “great support system” of family and friends, she endure a tough road to pregnancy.
“The biggest struggle I’ve had in general has just been having rheumatoid arthritis and dealing with the pregnancy,” she opened up to Cohen, also sharing that her doctors intended to induce her two weeks before her due date so she could go back to her intense treatment for that autoimmune disease.
According to PEOPLEmagazine, “Gharachedaghi used a sperm donor and completed a round of in vitro fertilization (IVF) in August, but nearly lost her life after her first successful embryo transfer in the spring led to an ectopic pregnancy that required emergency surgery and the removal of both fallopian tubes.”
“This is what I wanted my entire life,” Gharachedaghi, 37, told People. “When little girls were talking about their perfect husband and their perfect weddings, I was talking about the 10 kids I was going to have.”
She plans to skip the husband and raise her child on her own. She’s the third cast member to be pregnant following Mercedes “MJ” Javidlast Spring and Asa Soltanin July 2017.
She’s totally cool about raising her baby on her own.
“I’m OK right now focusing on me and my baby,” she said. “We’re in a day and age that women are so much more independent, and we’re not necessarily relying on men in order to move forward in life. I can start a family and have my child without being in a relationship right now.”
She added that if she is lucky to meet someone, “That’s great” but she is not interested in getting married in the future or necessarily being with a “forever life partner.”
“My forever will be my child,” she said.
Gharachedaghi got hitched to her on again, off again boyfriend Shalom Yeroushalmi in 2017 but the marriage lasted 7 weeks and they divorced.
The Shahs of Sunset season finale airs Friday at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi of the Bravo TVdocu series Shahs of Sunset posted a photo of her bandaged belly after surgery to remove her Fallopian tubes following an ecoptic pregnancy she suffered last year.
In the caption, to the photo, the Wusah entrepreneur says she believes the trauma was a result of Karma for things she has done in the past. The episode was filmed last year and by now, we know she recovered from the traumatic experience and eventually conceived and is expecting her first child within weeks.
She recounted the experience on her Instagram page.
“Tonight on Shahs of Sunset, life throws me another curve ball and this one hits quite hard,” she wrote, while teasing the Season 8, episode 8 that aired Friday night. “I went to the ER for pain from a pregnancy that turned ectopic and next thing you know I’m waking up from surgery where they removed both of my fallopian tubes.”
We know from an interview with BravoTV, she explained that after discovering her pregnancy was ecoptic, the drug they gave her to terminate the pregnancy wasn’t successful and they gave it two more times, they had to perform emergency surgery to remove both her Fallopian tubes. The chronic rheumatoid arthritis sufferer , which may have contributed to the second tube becoming dilated and needing to be removed as well.
“The sac wasn’t dissolving and it was on the verge of rupturing, which would have killed me. I’m lucky I got it in enough time,” she said.
After that, her only option to become pregnant was IVF. She had her second transfer in late August with the use of a sperm donor.
In her Instagram post talking about the episode this week, she said: “I’m a strong believer in karma and I do believe I’ve done enough wrong, that this is my karma cycle. I’m not a victim and will never play the victim role. This was simply a lesson. Thank you all for the love and support. It will be a hard episode for me to watch. But thank God I am about to have baby Elijah??”
This is the first child for Gharachedaghi who underwent in vitro fertilization and got pregnant via a sperm donor.
The mom-to-be recently opened up about she’s coping with having to welcome her son into a world full of chaos in a tweet posted on March 18.
“I’m due in less than 2 months but am freaking out about having a baby while the entire world is crumbling,” she shared. “Stay strong my little Elijah. You’re entering a world of chaos my son.”
Even though she says she “could have focused” her “energy into finding a partner to have a baby with; that wouldn’t have been hard” Gharachedaghitold PEOPLEmagazine, “I’m totally choosing this because this is what I want; this is what I’m ready for. I love that.”
Shahs of Sunset star Gholnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi celebrated the upcoming arrival of her first child at a Moroccan -themed baby shower over the weekend.
She also announced during the event that she is expecting a baby boy. Her friend, event planner Anita Gohari, shared video and photos of the event which featured the name “Elijah” spelled out in gold decorative lettering before a backdrop above the dessert tableand the mom-to-be changed into a blue sweater with big blue eyelashes and announced the baby’s sex as well.
Earlier, she wore a neutral color bump-hugging dress with ruching and paid homage to her son sex and name with blue yarn weaved in her box braids and blue tips on her nails with the letter E on each finger.
She confirmed the gender news on a subsequent Instagram story.
“Hey y’all, we are at my baby shower and I just did a wardrobe change. As you guys can see, true blue — I’m having a boy,” the Shahs of Sunset star said on her Instagram Story, while showing off her blue and white manicure.
Gharachedaghi’s co-star, Reza Farahan, also shared the baby’s name in an Instagram post.
“Celebrating @gg_golnesa and sweet baby Elijah at her baby shower!” Farahan captioned a photo with the mom-to-be on Instagram. “Make sure to catch an all new episode of #shahs tonight 9pm @bravotv , it’s ?????? and you’re not going to want to miss a minute of it!”
In October, Gaharachedaghi (who finalized her divorce from Shalom Yeyoushalmi in late 2018) shared that she was expecting her first baby after undergoing IVF using a sperm donor.

And in exclusive photos in PEOPLE magazine revealed that guests were served food “on two oversized boards, one housing cheeses, charcuterie, vegetables, breads, and other appetizers, while another was flowing with fruits (cantaloupe, strawberries, kiwi, passionfruit, raspberries, dragonfruit, etc.)
They also had salmon, hummus, shrimp, sliders, fries, chicken skewers and lamb chops and got to enjoy a Persian tea (chai) station in honor of Gharachedaghi’s Iranian ancestry.
Hookahs and cocktails like mojitos and micheladas and other alcoholic drinks were available, as well as a variety of flavored waters.
Among her Shahs family attending the event were Mike Shouhed and his girlfriend Paulina Ben-Cohen, Reza Farahan and husband Adam Neely, Destiney Rose, and Shah’s alum Lilly Ghalichi (who attended with her husband, Dara Mir).

The reality star also used the party as a chance to give back, asking guests to bring unopened essentials for babies (diapers, baby wipes, formula, blankets, clothings, bottles, pacifiers, etc.) in lieu of gifts. All items were donated to Baby2Baby, a Los Angeles-based charity that provides children living in poverty, ages 0-12 years, with necessities that every child deserves. “Everyone’s like, ‘The whole point of having a baby shower is to get the free gifts.’ But I told everybody, ‘I do not want gifts,’ ” Gharachedaghi explained to PEOPLE. “I just feel like, I’m not someone who likes to splurge; I can afford the necessities, and don’t want to spoil my son with fancy, fancy things. So why not use this opportunity to help others for people lacking in life?”

The trauma was was likely due to her rheumatoid arthritis, the mag added.
The precise process to getting pregnant started after she selected her sperm donor, had her eggs retrieved, then fertilized, developed and tested for genetic over 250 disorders.
“It took a long time, but I walked through each step with this knowledge and excitement that I was going to be a mom someday,” the Bravo star told PEOPLE of the process.
She added:
“This is what I wanted my entire life. When little girls were talking about their perfect husband and their perfect weddings, I was talking about the 10 kids I was going to have.
“I just always knew I’d be a mom someday,” she continued. “I’m finally at this point where I’m ready to make this move. I can’t wait to give this child a life of unconditional love without judgment, the same way my mom has shown me my whole life. I just wish she could teach me how to cook! I still haven’t figured that out yet.”
