Saint Patrick’s Day Facts and Activities to Add to Your Homeschooling

A lot of families in the US are home St. Patrick’s Day and their kids are distance learning.

It may be easier to incorporate a little bit of the story behind St. Patrick’s Day into their home schooling curriculum.

In a nutshell, a man named Patrick converted a large group of Irish people from Paganism to Christianity and was made a Saint.  Now considered the patron saint of Ireland, St. Patrick used the shamrock as the symbol of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The color green is used because of the rich green hills that are found all over Ireland.  You may be wondering how St. Patrick’s Day turned into a day for drinking, and there is a reason for that too.  St. Patrick told a bar owner who was cheating his customers by pouring short glasses of liquor that there was a demon in his basement and that the only way to be rid of it was to be generous.

After that, St. Patrick said that everyone should celebrate with some of the hard stuff on St. Patrick’s Day. However, the holiday isn’t solely reserved for those of legal drinking age; there are plenty of family-friendly things to do to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day too.

Check out these 20+ blog entries to find craft projects to make with the kids, decorations for your home, recipes to make for your family and other activities to do as well.

Shed Your Mommy Pooch With These At-Home Exercises

New moms know that getting to the gym could be super tough especially those weeks after giving birth when you can barely muster enough energy to put on their tennis shoes.

Even if you last gave birth 10 years ago or longer, you also know it is really hard to sneak some time away to get a good work out in.

Also, a gym membership may not even be in the cards for various reasons.

In times like these, having a home gym or a space in your home to get tiny workouts in is ideal.

The next step is finding workouts or routines  to do and mixing up the work out so you maximize your tone and/or weight loss goals.

You really don’t have to go farther than your home to get fit.

There are a lot of moves that you can do without any equipment.

We curated a list of workouts posters we nabbed from our Pinterest board.

Most can be done without weights even!

RHOBH’s Teddi Mellencamp Gets Ready for Baby #3

Teddi Mellencamp

Teddi Mellencamp

Another housewife from Bravo TV The Real Housewives franchise is expecting a baby; this time Teddi Mellencamp from the Beveryly Hills franchise.

It’s baby number three for the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star and her husband Edwin Arroyave.

Teddi, whose famous dad is 80s rock star John Cougar Mellencamp, shared a recent bump progression photo with her kids. The fitness pro posted a bump progression photo of herself in a bump revealing LBD body con dress while posing with her two kids, 6-year old Slate and 5-year old Cruz this week.

“When I first had Slate, I was driving myself crazy going to every ‘Mommy & Me’ class I could find online! If you know me, you know I can barely stand driving down the street, but I was determined to meet other likeminded moms,” she wrote in a post promoting the Peanut app and website in a sponsored post. “Luckily, I was eventually able to find my ‘mom tribe.’ And then when I got pregnant with Cruz, most of those mamas were expecting as well.”

When I first had Slate, I was driving myself crazy going to every “Mommy & Me” class I could find online! If you know me, you know I can barely stand driving down the street, but I was determined to meet other likeminded moms. Luckily, I was eventually able to find my “mom tribe.” And then when I got pregnant with Cruz, most of those mamas were expecting as well. But now, five years later, here I am pregnant again and on the lookout for some new expecting moms to share and bond with. And with a busier than ever schedule, I am so blessed to have discovered @peanut. It's an app to meet other women in your area who the same similar interests and are at a similar stage in life. The Only Mom on the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup Champs US Team Shares Victory with Son

US Women's National Team Soccer player Jessica McDonald and son Jeremiah

One of the best photos of today’s US Women’s National Team defending VICTORY against the Netherlands in the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup Championship was a photo of the only mom on the American team, Jessica McDonald, and her 7-year old son, Jeremiah, sprinkling confetti on her head.

Before the tournament, The Associated Press ran a feature late last month on McDonald, who made her debut at the start of the second half against Chile during round one.

About her son being able to appreciate the magnitude of what his mom was about to do, McDonald said, “he doesn’t fully understand, but at least he’s at an age right now where he’s actually going to remember this.”

She added: “He’s going to look back and be like, ‘Wow, I was there. Wow, my mom actually is cool — like she said.’”

McDonald was but among a handful of mothers, a select few that also includes Argentina goalkeeper Vanina Correa, Jamaica forward Cheyna Matthews, Brazil defender Tamires and South Korea defender Hwang Bo-Ra.

“I tried to explain to him: ‘Buddy, we’re going to the World Cup,’” the American forward remembered. “And he’s just like: ‘OK, can I have a toy now?’”

McDonald is a marvel to her teammates, who are amazed the 31-year old can balance her mommy duties with professional sport, solo.

“I don’t know how she does it,” midfielder Morgan Brian said in the report. “It’s pretty remarkable when you think about it and know how much we sacrifice and we put into this team and how much effort off the field that we have to give, and to know that her time is limited off the field and recovering and doing all the things that she needs to do. It’s pretty impressive that she’s here at this level.”

Left back Crystal Dunn is also stunned by McDonald.

“She’s always talking about how early she has to wake up to make sure Jeremiah is taken care of,” Dunn said. “I wake 10 minutes before training and I’m annoyed training gets pushed up earlier and earlier sometimes. But her ability to balance life is just incredible and I think, hopefully, going forward more women choose her route and not feel like they have to choose their career over having a family. I think the new generation is going to feel like they have the option of doing both.”

Traveling to France maybe new to Jeremiah, but being on the road with mom is not new because he has been her road dog since birth.

His mom has played for Melbourne in Australia and for professional teams in Chicago, Seattle, Portland, Houston, Western New York and North Carolina.

The US Soccer Federation paid for a nanny to care for Jeremiah in France, thanks to a deal worked out by fore mothers who worked out a deal, Joy Fawcett (1995, 1999, 2003) and Carla Overbeck (1999).

Though McDonald has used her teammates as baby sitters, there is a lot of work still to be done towards more rights for working moms on the club level of teams.

McDonald is among seven moms in the National Women’s Soccer League, joined by Portland midfielder Dagný Brynjarsdóttir, Chicago defender Sarah Gorden, Orlando forward Sydney Leroux, Washington forward Cheyna Matthews, Utah’s Rodriguez and Chicago midfielder Michele Vasconcelos.

“There hasn’t been any positive steps for moms in the NWSL,” McDonald said. “Now we’re kind of getting our heads together, getting ideas together, and so now we can start somewhere as moms. … Child care is not cheap. And if you look at our paychecks and you look at child care, there goes our paycheck. How are we going to eat? So yeah, it’s needs to change. We need to do something about it, being helped financially at least.”

We know now that after today, and all the rallying cry for the US Women’s Team hopefully may be on its way to finally getting parity with the US Men’s team which earns about $13,000 per game while the women earn under $5K, while being more successful and generating more excitement, titles and wins than the men’s team.

Come on man, These are the champions!

Instant Millionaire MakeUp Mogul Raynell ‘SupaCent’ Steward’s journey thru Pregnancy, Severe Memory Loss

image of Raynell "Wuzzam Supa Cent" Steward

Pregnancy and childbirth can trigger weight gain, temporary depression and a myriad of other physical and mental health issues and for the creator of make up brand dedicated to amateur make up users, The Crayon Case, SupaCent, the symptom of giving birth recently, sadly, has been severe memory loss.

Raynell “Wuzzam Supa” Steward aka @SupaCent on Instagram, a social media -star- turned makeup mogul, famously made over one million in minutes with her popular cosmetics line, last Black Friday 2018.

She repeated her success this year during Valentine’s Day.

Then, she got pregnant and was very transparent and open about the entire process down, chronicling her very difficult pregnancy with her millions of fans and followers on social media and giving them a blow-by-blow from water breaking to birth of her second child, daughter Leà Mae Leagea, and after.

However, recently, according to her loved ones and family, Supa has been experiencing severe memory loss and is having a difficult time post-partum.

After giving birth in March, she hared some now-deleted photos of herself in the hospital and requested prayers from fans.

In her Instagram Story, Steward said she had her boyfriend take her to familiar places to help jog her apparently failing memory, and added that one of her doctors recommended that she see a neurologist.

Mild forgetfulness and so-called “pregnancy brain” is a known and scientifically acknowledge phenomenon that happens among expecting women. However, loss, which is on the lines of dementia-like levels is very unheard of.

Nonetheless, a research study conducted 2009 from Dr. Diane Farrar of the Maternal and Child Research team at the Bradford Institute for Health Research in London discovered the brain can remain foggy three months after birth too.

It was hypothesized that she had a liver dysfunction that triggered the memory loss but as of today, it is still unclear.

Her last Instagram photos shows her entire head wrapped in a bandage, perhaps an indication that she has undergone some sore of surgery to to th brain or head.

In any event, about a week ago, her publicists released a statement asking for privacy.

She’s slated to get married to the father of his child in the coming months.

Here is to wishing she recovers, and regains what she has lost and can be stronger for her baby girl.

Kylie Jenner and Cardi B Mom Shamed Over Nails

Kylie Jenner and Cardi B are queen of setting and staying on top of trends so of course the new moms are rocking the latest in ornate super long coffin cut nails.

However, that penchant for showing off their latest exquisitely designed hands is making them target for a new type of mommy shaming.

When the Kyie Lipkit mogul posted a recent photo of herself with daughter Stormi while showing off her gorgeous pink ombre nails, several fans replied criticizing the danger the nails could pose to a baby.

“Poor Stormi. I bet she has all over her tiny body bruises and scars from her mother’s witch nails,” one replied. “how do you look after her with those nails?”

Mommy Makeover Face lifts Solution to Under Eye Bags

Guest Post

Continuing in my Mommy and Daddy Makeover Series of articles is this article with tips from Dr. Andrew Jacono, an expert plastic surgeon who delivers results and keeps his patients as his number one priority.

Facial surgeries are common in the United States, but to ensure the results match the results you want, you need to first consult with a reputable and well-known surgeon who can answer any and all of your questions.

To avoid mistakes and to have the surgery performed perfectly the first time make sure you consult with your surgeon, check their credentials, see previous before and after photos, and ask questions about the procedure.

Benefits of a Face Lift Surgeries

Having any kind of facial surgery can be a challenging thing to undergo, but the results and benefits of the surgery can leave a lasting impression for the rest of your life. Facial surgery can help men and women alike gain more confidence and have higher self-esteem. They can help people look twenty years younger or more and can help you achieve your ideal self. Everyone has an issue with some part of their face and would like to have it changed.

Having a facelift performed can help eliminate sagging skin, can address under eye bags, can make skin more firm, reduce wrinkles, and improve your overall look. Dr. Andrew Jacono will consult with each client before performing surgery and ask them about the areas of improvement they would like to see. Rather than suggesting a full facelift for each patient, Dr. Jacono only recommends the necessary surgeries to help his patients reach their ideal self. If a patient would like to have the bags under their eyes corrected and removed, Dr. Jacono can make this happen. Each person who likes to improve different parts of their face does not need full facial surgery but rather can have one part of their face worked on.

Procedure

Many plastic surgeons use various methods and procedures to perform face surgeries, however, Dr. Jacono is one of the few surgeons in the world that can perform Deep Plane Face Lifts. During this procedure, he repositions the sagging skin and soft tissue that result from aging and gravity. This procedure helps patients look natural. It is difficult to tell that patients had ever undergone surgery since only the deep tissue is worked on.

A Minimal Access Deep Plane Extended Face Lift was created by Dr. Andrew Jacono and uses the best techniques from various types of procedures. It is designed to give patients the best results while looking natural. It has minimal scarring because it involves a very small incision. This procedure moves both the tissues and muscles inside your skin to produce lasting results. Unlike other surgeons who pull the skin tight during facial surgery, Dr. Jacono does not do this. The result is more natural, younger looking, rejuvenated skin.

The area that the patient feels like needs to be improved, such as under eye bags, sagging neck, or wrinkles, determines which procedure the surgeon will use. Before undergoing any type of surgery the doctor will be sure to explain the procedure to you in depth. Any questions that you have will be easily answered and before and after pictures of previous patients can be shown.

Undereye bags are one of the most common facial procedures since they are a common sign of aging. Lifting under eye bags helps make the skin look younger and more rejuvenated. If you are not looking for a full facial surgery and would only like to have one feature fixed, like under eye bags, this can easily be achieved. Raising the tissue in under your eyes can make you look naturally younger.

Recovery

Recovery from facial surgery can be challenging and the depth of the surgery can affect how long it will take one to recover. Most patient’s recovery within one week, but daily activities can normally be resumed the next day. Typical recovery includes pain and discomfort in the face. Occasional bruising can occur but will go away within a week or so. Swelling usually peaks around three days after the surgery so it is important to wait a full week before taking you’re before and after photo. In order to cope with the pain and discomfort, your doctor will usually prescribe pain medications for you to take for the first week. The longer you wait after recovery the more your incisions start to fade. To help reduce any scarring you can use lotions and creams over time.

Consultation with Dr. Andrew Jacono

Dr. Andrew Jacono is a well-recognized and famous plastic surgeon, who has patients from across the globe. To accommodate his diverse patients he performs consultations online for the continence of his clients who are out of the city or the country. He is based in New York City and is part of the New York Center for Facial Plastic & Laser Surgery. He has many years of experience and is an expert in many types of facial surgeries. Before undergoing surgery, Dr. Andrew Jacono will answer any questions that you have, show you before and after photos of previous patients, and describe in detail what will happen during the procedure and after.

He is a professional surgeon who helps teach and lecture future students and patients about the field of plastic surgery and the most current clinical research trials. He is up to date on the most recent techniques that deliver the best results to patients. Dr. Andrew Jacono is Dual Board Certified in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Head and Neck Surgery. He heads the Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at North Shore University Hospital and is the director of The New York Center for Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. In order to help his patient’s recovery from their surgeries, he created the J PAK Systems that feature homeopathic remedies to help speed up the rate of recovery.

If you are looking to schedule a consultation with a facelift surgeon in New York City, you can reach Dr. Andrew Jacono’s office at 212-570-2500.

Also, you cannot compare this to traditional horror, I do not think or something Alfred Hitchcock would come up with though it is in the vein of Hitchcock’s Vertigo or Wes Craven’s The Hills Have Eyes but with surreal quirkiness of the adaptation of Marvel’s Legion on FX.
