The 61st Annual GRAMMY Awards went down last night February 10 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
Congrats to a couple of our “Bellyitch Bumpwatch” alums who took home awards: Cardi B for the Best Rap Album for her project “Invasion of Privacy” and muva Beyonce who won Best Urban Contemporary Album for her album collaboration project with her husband, Jay Z, “Everything Is Love” — The Carters.
Rashida Jones won an award for Best Music Film for their documentary Quincy about her dad music icon Quincy Jones.
On stage, our other blog alum Alicia Keys kept the attendees entertained while fulfilling her hosting duties and doing an amazing job singing some hits old and new while playing not one, but two pianos!
Besides her on-stage performance outfit, a black leotard and shimmery black tuxedo pants and a chic black fedora, the “Empire State of Mind” performer had four outfit changes if you count the fitted red tea-length Giorgio Armani button-up gown with a plunging neckline.
She also donned a green Palazzo leg jumsuit with a green print head scarf, a black jumpsuit with a plunging neckline and my fave, a red deep v jumpsuit with collar cape draping.
Jennifer Lopezalso performed a tribute to Motown and showed up on the red carpet and during the intro, joined Keyes alongsideJada Pinkett Smith, Lady Gaga and former First Lady Michelle Obama, in a white Ralph & Russo pantsuit.
Cardi did a showstopping Burlesque’ish routine to her hit song “Money” but before that worked the red carpet in an elegant and avant garde vintage dress from the Mugler 1995 fall couture collection.
It looks like big and bold looks was the thing this year because Kylie Jenner showed up and out in a very structured blush pink Balmain Couture pants suit to cheer on her beau Travis Scott who was nominated for a few awards last night.
Not everyone went way out. New mom Jones did a nice conservative look in a long Ralph Lauren dress with Cartier jewels and Brian Atwood heels and I loved the elaborate yet simplicity of Pinkett Smith’s 20s feel feathered gown.
My fave dress was Bebe Rexha, whose not a mom, but rocked it in a gorgeous red layered Monsoori dress.
It has been 10 years since I last posted the annual Bellyitch Most Expensive Strollers post. It was a yearly blog post staple and used to get tons of traffic because, honestly, I think people, generally, are obsessed with knowing what baby items are used and coveted by the super wealthy and celebrities.
Since the last post, a few stroller companies have gone out of business. RIP to Orbit, Maclaren and newer brands 4Moms and iCandy, which were once considered “it” strollers in their day but no longer manufacture luxury strollers.
In 2013, I published the list as part of the Bellyitch 100, a book of the top crib makers, maternity wear designers, stroller makers and baby clothes brands.
Anyway, so I used to publish the Most Expensive Strollers list at a time when I was raising a young family and brands would boast that they were on the list.
My social circle at the time included professional working women, stay-at-home moms, and mom bloggers, several who were affluent and looked at the stroller as a status symbol.
Here is another secret about what happens among moms at the park, at the school pick up lot, in the mall and other social places where mommies congregate. They check out what strollers they’re pushing a baby or child in and make judgments.
Yes, there is a definite hierarchy in quality of strollers and believe me when I tell you that certainly check out what stroller another mom’s child is being pushed in and make judgments.
When I was raising my children as a young lawyer, I went through 6 strollers, which is a low number considering many of my friends at the tiem had way more.
Our first stroller was a Peg Perego which converts from a baby carriage or pram to a push stroller. At the time, it was among the best. Then, when my first born turned into a toddler, we ordered theInglesina Swiftumbrella stroller from the Italian stroller manufacturer. It had a great run!
To pair with the Inglesina, a sturdy Italian brand, we got a lower cost Combi umbrella stroller for travel, a stroller we could beat up which was so much less that so that we wouldn’t mind if it got lost by the airline or damaged during travel.
Then, when I was expecting baby #2, I got as an amazing shower gift from my co-workers at my old job: a Peg Prerego Aria doublestroller!
By the time baby number 3 rolled around, the Inglesina had hit the dirt, we left the Combi on some island we visited for vacation once and we had loaned out the Peg Perego Buggy to relatives who didn’t take good care of it.
The wheels on the double gave out and we opted to give to Goodwill rather than try to fix it or get the company to repair it.
B.O.B.
We opted for a lesss expensive Graco Snug Ride for Baby #3 and aB.OB. jogging stroller (the air-filled jogger stroller with hand activated rear wheel brakes that can ride smooth on any terrain) when I was ready to get back in shape.
Now, while we didn’t get any of them to make a statement, I have had many moms and dads comment on the pricier high end ones while walking in the parks, malls etc. People are always looking for a status symbol and there is a preconception that most expensive means the best!
It’s no wonder, you can see celebrities strolling their children in many of those on this list. The celebrities know that too. That is why Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony sued Silver Cross from publishing on their website an unauthorized endorsement which featured a People magazine photo of them pushing their twins in two Silver Cross prams.
People flock to buy whatever celebrities purchase and that stroller companies know that endorsement mean lots for their bottom line.
Anyhoo, on to the list. Of course, as a disclaimer, this list is not exhaustive. As usual, this list is based on my own personal research and I urge readers to point out other vehicles that should grace this list. Certainly, I would amend the post to reflect corrections.
In the meantime, check out this year’s list of “it” strollers pushed by the most Poshest of moms and celebs out there (I’m updating this list with a few more after the initial post so come back and ping me on Twitter if you don’t see one you think should be on this list)

Turning 40 doesn’t mean your wardrobe options are suddenly cut in half. Crop tops, cutouts and cult trends like athleisure can, or rather should, remain in your arsenal if you want them to. Take inspiration from these well-dressed celebs who deftly strike a balance of fashion-forward and flattering. They’re resounding proof you should wear all of these pieces into your 40s and beyond.
I rocked a crop top with high waisted pants out on a date night with hubby this Summer and no one batted an eye. It actually was a head turner look.
The Zoe Collection did a round up of what stylish is in your 40s and I agree with the assessment that just because you’re over 40 doesn’t mean you cannot rock crop tops, cutouts and cult trends like athleisure where I spotted the above looks by Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Lopez. (See the HERE.)
I like that Witherspoon’s look was youthful and fun yet still age appropriate. To get this look, start with dark cropped denims, a graphic tee and cropped denim jacket. I’d cop a pair it with a pair of red Aldo Uloaviel pumps and carry this fly French Connection Owen Mini Box bag ($49)
The American Music Awards went down on Monday, October 8 at the Microsoft Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, California and several of our Bellytich Bumpwatch alums performed, hosted and presented awards, and current 2nd-time mom to be Carrie Underwood won for Favorite Female Artist- Country, while new first-time mom Cardi B won Favorite Soul/R&B song for her duo with Bruno Mars, “Finesse“, and Favorite Rap/Hip-Hop song for “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)“.

We also saw Ciara make an amazing performance with musical icon Missy Elliot, amedley of hits “Level Up” and “Dose,” Ciaralooked really fab in a super cute DSquared2 mini dress and shoes accented with Pandora jewelry.
Underwood also performed, her hit song “Spinning Bottles“, after bumping it up on the red carpet in

The Independent explores the shift in celebrity pregnancy coverage being more authentic and real about the trials of pregnancy, labor, delivery and early motherhood and credits social media for it
EXCERPT:
Years ago, a pregnant starlet might drop out of the spotlight for a while – only to reemerge in a magazine looking well-rested and snuggling with an angelic infant.
See various People magazine covers: Jennifer Lopez in 2008, resplendent in a floor-length gown with an infant nestled in each arm, above the headline “TWIN BLISS!”; Angelina Jolie in 2006, gazing adoringly at Brad Pitt, as baby Shiloh snoozes away; Julia Roberts, looking dewy and fresh-faced in 2005 as she cradles her twins.
Now fans are starting to see a different side of postpartum celebrities: Model Chrissy Teigen shares an Instagram story that features her stretch marks and confesses that she’s “super insecure” about her body; actress Olivia Wilde posts an Instagram photo of her messy bun with the caption, “I call this hairstyle, ‘keep the kid alive’ “; tennis legend Serena Williams tweets about balancing work and her daughter: “She took her first steps . . . I was training and missed it. I cried.”
The common denominator in all those examples, naturally, is social media. The advent of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat made stars realize that they could connect with the public on a deeper level about personal subjects – and that fans appreciated honesty about the less-than-glamorous aspects of their #blessed lives.
“Social media has been such a game changer. . . . Celebrities are speaking directly to the fan base. Once they started doing that, things just got a lot more real,” said Kate Coyne, executive editor of People magazine. “One evolution of that concept has been celebrities sharing the realities of pregnancy, infertility, child-rearing, infancy, toddlerhood. It goes hand in hand with what social media is all about.”
Lately, celebrities have also been spilling details about serious medical issues surrounding childbirth. In January, Williams told Vogue that she had a potentially fatal complication during labor, including blood clots in her lungs.
Last night was the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards at Radio City Music Hall in New York, New York City on August 20.
Quite a few of our Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums showed up and/or showed out with draw-dropping performances, on-stage antics, on the red carpet risks and MoonMan winning!
Jennifer Lopez gave an electrifying performance of a medley of her hits over the years before accepting the Video Vanguard Award, the first person of Latino heritage to win the coveted prize.
Cardi B surprised the audience by opening the show cradling what looked like a baby on stage
Many thought they would get the first glimpse of her infant girl Kultura with husband rapper Offset, but she later revealed it was a trophy.
Womp womp womp!!
Later in the evening, the “I Like It” rapper won three of several awards she was nominated for, Song of the Summer for “I Like It featuring Bad Bunny & J Balvin; Best new artist and Best Collaboration for “Dinero” Jennifer Lopez’s song with DJ Khaled Artist of the year.
She was nominated for Best hip hop, Artist of the Year, Best Latin album, also for Dinero and Song of the Year for “Finesse” with Bruno Mars
Beyoncé’s song “APES**T” with her husband Jay Z as part of their duo The Carters won a few technical awards for Best Cinematography and Best Art Direction though that song was also nominated for Best collaboration, Best Direction, Best Choreography,Best Hop Hop, Best Editing And Video of the Year.
On the red carpet, JLo and Cardi showed out along with other alums Kylie Jenner and Blake Lively, coming through with the pant suit again.
MTV Reality show and other Bellyitch alums Heidi Montag, Nicky Hilton, Nicole “Snooki” Palozzi and Audrina Partridge graces the red carpet also.
One fashion trend that stood out to me was the inptricate sheet organza I saw on singing sisters and Beyonce protege Chloe X Haile, comedic actress Tiffany Hadish and British singing phenom Rita Ora.
And finally, winning the sex kitten awards: a chaps and chisel abs donning Teyana Taylor, Blac Chyna and red cat woman Amber Rose.
Mom-to-be Cardi B was nominated for seven Billboard awards tonight at the MGM Grand hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada and came away with a win for Top Rap Female artist award besting Nicki Minaj who was also nominated in that category.
Our other Bellyitch Bumpwatch alum Janet Jackson showed up on the red carpet looking youthful as ever. She was on hand to receive the Icon Award, the first Black Woman to be bestowed the honor. She also performed a medley of her hits including “Nasty”, “Throb” and “If.”
Kelly Clarkson hosted the event and also looked fabulous in a medley of her own of fab outfits. She started the night addressing the latest school shooting in Texas with a heart felt plea to do something more than have “moments of silences” and “thoughts and prayers” each time there is a school shooting in America. “It’s time we had a moment of action, she pleaded before kicking off the night. Later Khalid and Shawn Mendes did a moving tribute backed by the choir from the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, the site of another school shooting earlier this year.
Christina Alguilera performed a duet with Demi Lovato. Jennifer Lopez performed her song “Dinero” but without Cardi who did not attend the show and perhaps was dealing with the stresses of her fiance Offset getting into a terrible car accident.
Other celeb moms we’ve featured prominently on the blog in attendance included Jenna Dewan Tatum in Zuhair Murad,Padma Lakshmi, Tyra Banks, Mila Kunis in David Koma and Ciara in a body fitting sheer dress..
So the annual fundraising gala to mark the opening of the new Spring exhibit at The Metropolitan Gallery of Art in New York City went down last night.
As with this event every years, guests are asked to come dressed according to the theme of the new exhibit: Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & The Catholic Imagination. This year’s official hosts were Anna Wintour, Rihanna, Amal Clooney (above in Richard Quinn) and Donatella Versace (who dressed a lot of the attendees this year)
With a theme like that not only do you expect some backlash at what could be expected as a parade of sacrilegiousness, but you sorely expect some interpretations of Angels, the Virgin Mary, the Pope and Cardinals! They all were there last night too.
We just cover the moms and other celeb women we have frequently covered starting with two moms-to-be: Homeland star Claire Danes who is expecting her second child with husband Hugh Dancy and rapper and reality TV star Cardi B who is expecting her first child with her fiance rapper Offset.
Danes wore a custom floor-length empire waist Marni precious duchesse red, magenta and caramel color block gown paired with Marni Monile handbag and multicolour platform sandals.
Cardi looked regal in a custom golden bejeweled white Moschino gown. She was accompanied to the event by designer Jeremy Scott though her fiancé was there with the other two members of his group, Migos.
Of our other Bellyitch Bumpwatch alums, we noticed a few trends within the theme.
Yellow was a prevalent theme and color and everyone wearing it last night looked stunning including Lily Aldridge in Ralph Lauren, Huma Abedinand Gabrielle Union in Prabal Gurung dress, Tasaki jewels, Stuart Weitzman shoes and a Tyler Ellis clutch.
Anne Hathaway went with volume in her Valentino gown which she paired did James Banks earrings, a The Code bracelet and Jimmy Choo heels.
Meanwhile, Gisele Bundchen did old Hollywood glam but in an environmentally friendly way by working with Versacd to repurpose an old dress.
“Thank you @versace for working so hard to make me an eco dress. The fabric and lining used are both 100% organic silk ecologically dyed, the threads are 100% organic cotton and everything is certificated as GOTS: Global Organic Textile Standard,” she captioned a photo of herself in the dress before heading out to the ball.
Kylie Jenner made her first official official red carpet appearance in a black velvet Alexander Wang gown with Chopard jewelry with her beau rapper Travis Scott since the two welcomed their first child together, daughter Storming
Uma Thurman was accompanied to the event by Maya Hawke, her daughter with Ex Ethan Hawke and donned a white Gabriela Hearst dress, Giampiero Bodino jewelry, and Manolo Blahnik heels
Most people played it safe but understandingly so because they probably didn’t want to cross the line and have to dodge lightning bolts! ha!
